Lily was flying beside her best and only friend, Mal. She was currently tracking some delishes goats. Soon Lily spotted the goats and their caretakers. She quickly went into invisible mode and landed about 10 feet away, down wind, making sure no one could smell her. After a couple minutes of making a plan she smelled some other creatures, something like a- wolf? She quickly looked around for any other creatures and saw a wolf and a wolf-bird thing. Before Lily could say anything Mal saw thr strangers and flew into a near-by tree, watching them. Lily rolled her eyes though she hopped Mal wouldnt get caught and get some information about who they are.

I get up and start trotting by, with my wings partially raised. ready to fly and leave the pup if necessary, I would prefer not to get attached especially since she doesn't have wings to fly from danger. That alone is an incident waiting to happen, I've heard stories that if you go to the temple and pray to the gods they might give you wings but it's just an old nanny's tail. but then again, you have wolves like me who have wings, our ancestors prove we weren't meant to have wings because their bones are like the pup's but oh well. I trotted along holding my head high because it doesn't matter if you don't look like a danger. The more intimidating you look, the more likely they will stop and question the fight if it would be worth it. The crows finally caught up and started to flock with me again, resting along my back and sitting on my wings. when I got out of view of the donkeys I let my wings down in a resting position again, and the crows rearranged themselves. I kept on trotting I smelt another being close by, smelled like a wolf but with dragon mixed in. I will still avoid dragons, I would prefer not to find out if there is one. I came across a frozen lake and found it wasn't solid so just started going around it. I looked at the ground further and noticed smaller wolf-like prints on the ground, "dogs" I mumbled there were also signs of sleds being there before too. It's a sled dog route, I turned around and started to go the other way around the lake. My timing was perfect because I started to hear dogs barking, I stood in the open instead of hiding. some of the crows went airborne, others stayed on my back.

Mal quickly decided to follow the winged wolf since the other wolf seemed less of a threat. She flew above the winged wolf before landing on the ground 10 feet away. Just then me and Mal heard dogs barking. I hate dogs i groaned as i silently told Mal to get back here, since it might be dangerous. She rolled her eyes but did as i said and landed on my shoulder. Then we both watched the winged wolf to see what she would do next. Since i was pretty far away i flew a bit closer, my invisiblity still on.

I snapped my head after hearing the snow crunch, I looked and scanned the ground for any prints. I saw a set of 4 wolf prints and started growling looking at the prints. Everything went dead silent, including the dog sled. It seemed they had stopped to watch, but I was too focused on the snow to turn my head and check. My hackles were raised, and my growl got deeper and the crows started circling the area I was growling at. They picked up on it very quickly, they could sense something was there too. I stood my ground, probably looking like an angry mare right now. My ears were pinned back for protection and my head lowered to protect my neck. The crows kept getting lower and lower and circling tighter to figure out how small the other being was. One of the crows reached out and actually grabbed something, after they pulled it out the object was no longer invisible. It was a silver feather it smelled like a dragon and wolf, this creature must have been what I was smelling. "Who are you and what do you want?" with a hint of Raising my head as the crows continued to circle them.

Lily could tell about how the winged wolf growled that she knew that she was there. She slowly undid her invisiblity and stared at the winged wolf a bit before answering. "Im Lily, and i was just curious about what you were doing in my hunting teritory. I come here every couple days to hunt the goats. Besides, this is where dragons hang out, why would a winged wolf be up here all alone? Defenceless and alone. Even if you have a scaredy wolf partner, thats not enough strength to defeat a dragon." Lily didnt want to come off like a mean, aggeresive dragon but that was her way of meeting new animals, to make sure they wouldnt hurt her. Mal shifted nervously on Lily's back, clearly not happy with the perdicement they were in.

I relaxed a bit and the crows started to settle but some started to pick at and try to pluck the other wolf's feathers. One succeeded and brought it to me almost as an offering, cawing at me trying to get me to take it. "Sorry about the crows, they have been following me as that young female has just been following me the entire day too. Otherwise, I'm a lone wolf and just passing through, it wasn't my intention to go through dragon territory." I say then end up scolding the crows still trying to pluck out her feathers. The ones that managed to get some of her feathers and loose tufts of fur try sticking it amongst my own fur and feathers.

I realaxed as the winged wolf did too. Just then some of the crows tried to pull out of feathers and fur. I bit snapped at one and that one left and returned to its post by the winged wolf but while i was doing that another crow managed to get some feathers and fur. If Mal hadnt have been trying to get some other crows away i knew she would have made sure the crow didnt get some of my feathers and fur. I nodded as the winged wolf finished talking but i was still a bit anoyed at the three crows that still circled me. "Its, fine, and tecnacly this isnt my territory, or dragon territory. My family used to live here but- Oww!" Another crow managed to get some fur and instantly brought it to the winged wolf. "Thats it!" i said as i snapped at one of the crows, grabbing its tail feathers and throwing it to the ground. The other two crows left and the one i had bit flew away too. I had made sure not to kill it, just to make them leave. Mal flew into the air too, circling a bit before landing back on my shoulder, telling me there was a dragon coming. Yes, dragons did come here sometimes but again, it was exactly dragon territory. "A dragon is coming, you should come with me." I then flew into the sky, waiting to see if she would follow me.

I tensed up ready to attack the wolf for trying to hurt a crow, I felt my fathers sharpen up. I hesitated but eventually flew after the dragon-wolf easily catching up, the crows followed me. I watched the young female below panic about what to do, she had been following me for some time. The crows stopped picking on poor lily, I started to understand what they were saying. All I will sum it up to is that it wasn't any very nice things. "knock it off and be nice, you were pestering her," I said to them, Lily glanced at me weirdly and all the crow's attention went to me

"you can hear us?" one said panicked and all of a sudden they all started repeating "She can hear us, she can hear us!?"

"Knock it off will ya, yes I can hear you now what were you doing?" I said annoyed, finally realizing how the goddess of death must feel.

"We were trying to give you offerings from a powerful being," one crowed "Yes, a goddess wants you to be her pet, and a sign of her" they all started sounding excited than one chirped in and they all went silent "Wait does that mean you are Melinoë!? We got the right wolf finally!" they all were silent waiting for my response.

"Yes, but I prefer to be called Nyx," I said still a little annoyed, they all crowed happily "I'm guessing it's the goddess of death considering crows are a sign of death?" they all went silent again

"Yes, and since you kind of accepted our offering of letting us put the fur and feathers amongst yours you have been claimed." they were all still silent. I realized the one that talked the most was also a little larger and one that tended to stick to my side more often than the others. I sighed

"Are you crows always going to flock to me?"

"Yes," they all said almost in sync

"Will it always be the same ones?" I said intrigued

"No" the larger crow replied, "just me otherwise they will rotate out."

"Alright then..." Everything was silent
