Artavis Offsping || Masculine || Mentions: Arden, Esmeralda, Rana, Afton, Theo, Hunting Patrol His claws dug into the dirt, his steps slow and steady. He didn't want to rush into things, rather, he preferred a stealthier approach. His head remained forward, though his ears were faced behind him, indicating that he was still listening and acknowledging the others, even if he wasn't directly looking at them. He had heard the group's input, and he listened to it, nodding his head a singular time to express just that. Offering an abrupt glance to Arden, he had nodded once more, his ears bobbing along to the movement of his cranium. "Very well," was all he added on, not too worried on the choices the group made. They knew themselves better than anyone. If some believed that they'd do better initiating the chase rather then waiting, so be it. Artavis trusted them. He then turned his ears to Theo, who decided upon scouting ahead. He had first listened to Arden speak, not bothered by the intervention at all. Even as he continued speaking, Artavis made no move to interrupt. It was all about teamwork after all, and he wasn't the type to grow irritated at extra help. Besides, he and Arden didn't have that form of relationship. They were close. If his brother had anything to add on, he welcomed it with open arms. Both of them. That was something he wondered would change had Artavis been more invested in the tournament. Would it have caused a rift between himself and Arden? Between himself and Afton? "That sounds alright with me, Theo, though I'd prefer you go alone. There would be a smaller possibility that the deer would hear you. We can't risk spooking them before we have even arrived." Giving Theo the go ahead, Artavis added onto Arden's prior words. "You all know yourselves best. Figure out which of you would be better chasing, and which would be better taking the target down. If you can't decide, or if the groups are too unbalanced, I'll sort you into clusters myself. Like Arden said, try to keep the groups even." -- "Larkspur, I will join you chasing." Artavis had a tall physique, but it was a skinny one, his legs taking up most of his height. He knew that he was best built for speed rather then attempting to take the deer down with pure power. Strength was on his side, but compared to others, it was his speed that he relied on most. He then noted the presence of Rana appearing, to which he offered her a soft smile. She was another friend of his. They had practically grown up together alongside of the others. If he wasn't training with his brothers or Esme, he was with Rana or Natan. So, when she spoke of initiating the chase as well, he agreed. "Rana, Larkspur, and I will initiate and attempt to separate our target from the other deer. Anybody else?" He listened, that is, until Afton said something that made him uneasy. "Stop." Halting, Artavis turned to Afton, who had mentioned blood. It couldn't have been any of their wolves, could it? No, it wasn't the hunting part, nor could it be the border patrol. Could somebody have ventured out within the pack? Approaching his brother, Artavis took the time to investigate, nose moving at odd speeds in an attempt to take in the smell. He was silent for a moment until Arden spoke asking if there was anything else. "I'm not certain," he added on, muzzle curling. "It's not normal." It was off. It was the smell of blood, but something else. As if something was intertwined with it. It couldn't have been anyone in their pack. "I don't think it's too far, though wherever it is, I don't like it." Staring in the direction of the blood, he turned to his brother. "Did you want to investigate? Bring somebody here with you?" If not, Artavis supposed that he could go if that wasn't something Afton wished to pursue. However, it couldn't simply be left alone.

Afton - Offspring - Mentions: Artavis, Arden, Hunting Patrol
Afton listened to the others, as they volunteered for different roles in the hunt. His ears flicking to and fro when their voices met his hearing, splitting his attention between them and the scent of blood. But he remained quiet, thinking. Blood was a scent that was not uncommon, but this time it was off. Something else was present in the scent, he was thinking that it was the smell of something else. And he didn't think that it was anyone in the pack. He knew that it wasn't the hunting patrol, they had set out not too long ago; nor the border patrol. Suspicious. An idea bloomed in his mind, one he didn't like. Another scent entangled in the blood, not one of the pack certainly. He sorted through the reasons why, not wanting to jump to conclusions. But his mind kept shoving one to the forefront.
Intruder.
He looked to Arden when his brother voiced his question. He saw concern dancing in his deep amber eyes, and he knew that the same was present in his own yellow eyes. He took a glance in the direction of blood, took a series of sharp inhales, to affirm that was were the blood was located, in case the wind had taken the scent from a different direction. Finding it true, he turned his head back to the slightly taller male.
"I'd say somewhat close. Perhaps beyond that deer herd. It's kind of hard to pick up at times, but it isn't insanely far away," he pointed his muzzle in the direction for emphasis. Fully aware that his brothers and the others could pick it up. "and it smells not too fresh, not too old. I think." He tilted his head slightly as an idle gesture, not much thought put into it.
The smaller male tilted his head up to Artavis when his brother had approached him after issuing the order to halt. Listening, he gave a nod in agreement to his statements. When asked if he wanted to investigate, he knew that it was a yes. He was the one who picked up the scent, and he would be the one to check out the source. It was something that couldn't be simply ignored, and besides, he wanted to go and see. His claws dug into the earth below him, staring off in the direction of the blood; the thought that it was an intruder growing more certain in his mind, despite his attempts to give the other possibilities a chance. Although it remained up in the air until proven otherwise.
"Yes. I will." Afton replied, then he looked back at the other members of the hunting patrol, deciding whether someone else should join him in investigating what had happened beyond the herd of deer. A moment of indecision. It would be smart to bring somebody else with him as backup, but that also reduced the number of hunters in the patrol, a reduced chance of taking down a deer.
"I will go alone. I can move faster by myself, and I know I can hold my own in a fight. Bringing someone else with me will decrease the number of hunters and the chance of taking down prey." He spoke after he had reached his decision.

Esmeralda Warrior | F | In tournament | M: Hunting patrol The white wolf had been listening to the others converse, silently standing as Artavis made a plan, and some others chimed in. His plan seemed the most logical, driving the deer and then picking the weaker link; she would have done the same if she was in his shoes. Esmeralda had nodded in agreement, content with the plan when another member of the patrol spoke up. The figure had crept up on the group, and even though she had known he was coming and sensed his presence, his sudden appearance slightly started her. She believed the male's name was Theo, not having ever talked with him previously. The male had suggested going ahead to scout, which seemed like a good idea, it would be no use to rush in blindly and make the wrong move, though it seemed as if he wanted a group to go with, which Esme was unsure about. Surely the more wolves that went the harder it would be to stay silent and hidden? She was a bit relieved when Artavis voiced his opinion, preferring him to go alone as well. It was shortly after the fact that the hunting patrol began to split up, some volunteering to chase and others to target the deer. Esme felt that she would be more suited for the chasing, however, she felt the need to prove herself more, and step up to help with the actual attack, voicing her position. “I’ll join the group that will be attacking.” Speed and agility were more of her style, but she needed to help bring down the deer, again, trying to prove her worth as a hunter to the pack, and hopefully give her a better standing when it came to the tournament. But what Afton had said next made her uneasy. He had smelled blood, Esme had not caught the scent until now, the she-wolf shuffled in her spot, raising and then lowering her paws as she waited to hear how the group would deal with the situation. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Rana moving towards Artavis, she had almost missed the wolf's movement as she had been caught up in the situation. It was Artavis who spoke next, asking Afton if he had wanted to go ahead and check it out. Esme had nearly thought of volunteering, though she thought better of it, she could be more useful here if they decided to continue the hunt while Afton was gone. Afton had been on the same page, speaking of going alone for the same reason. She was glad at least someone was going to check it out and left her more confident staying here to help with the hunt. Larkspur || Hunter || M: Hunting Party It was an interesting dynamic, having three potential alphas in charge of one hunt. Of course, there had been a set leader, but the female couldn't recall who that had been, exactly -- not that it mattered. So far, Arden seemed to be the most intent on gripping the reins of leadership; Larkspur was fine with that. Frankly, as long as the hunt went smoothly and there were no petty arguments, she would go along with just about anything. Her eyes slid over everyone as they continued to discuss their plan of action; she got to her paws and moved over to stand by Artravis after he had stated that he, too, would chase the deer. Larkspur pricked her ears once more at the mention of blood: as the deer scent had nearly passed by her due to her placement in the congregation, so, too, had the blood scent. She could smell the distinct, acrid tang of the liquid, though its exact location could not be determined by what small whiff she had received. Larkspur watched Theo dart off once again. Shortly after the male returned, Afton offered to follow the blood trail. The young female could not yet tell what kind of animal the blood belonged to, but, if it were a deer, that would make the hunt all that much quicker. If it wasn't, she worried that the ungulates would be so on edge as to catch wind of the wolves before a strike could be properly executed. She swished her tail once in a nervous manner; Larkspur was not going home without a kill. They would bring down a deer and take it home, whether or not there was a bloody threat. The pack needed it.

Tavarious Lone Wolf | Six | Male | Mentions: The Hunting Party [Ind.]
Alabaster fur drifted in and out of the shadows as the male moved, heading in the direction he had smelled the deer. He didn't really have any intention of hunting, but a mischevious glint overtook the male's features as he moved.
However, the male paused, directing his nose into the air as he sniffed about. The wind wasn't going in the right direction for him to scent anything from any other direction than ahead of him, so if there was anyone behind him, he wouldn't know. He didn't particularly mind really, he was capable of protecting himself if needed.
Shrugging, he turned and kept heading in the direction of his intent. While the male didn't know if there was any wolves out hunting, he did imagine it was the perfect time for one. If he were in pack, this would be when he would go out hunting, so he figured it made sense for him to assume there were wolves out and about.
"Do it."
The voice in his head spoke before he could even truly think of the idea blooming inside his head. He wasn't surprised though, that voice was always up for anything that would be inconvienent to others.
"Do it. It'll be fun, and it could piss them off." A gleeful, but dark little chuckle echoed within his mind and he shook his head, but he didn't disagree with the male. He could potentially mess with the chance they had of hunting, and potentially learn of their general location if he messed with the deer. Plus, he could potentially get another meal and store it away for later. That wouldn't hurt.
"You could be keeping a meal from sick, old, or young wolves though, Tavarious," a gentle, feminine voice spoke, trying to reason him out of it.
"What do we care? They aren't our pack. We owe them nothing," the first voice scoffed, clear disgust in his tone.
"But it still should matter. Taking food out of the mouths of other--"
"Oh put a paw in it, we don't care. Tavarious shouldn't care. They are nothing to us." A growl rumbled in his head, causing the ivory male to roll his eyes at the first.
"I'm sure they will have an opportunity to hunt again, and it would help us, give us knowledge," he reasoned, more to the second voice than anything. The feminine voice was softer than the rest of them, seemed to care a whole lot more too.
With the decision apparently being made, Tavarious veered slightly so that he would eventually come up from the other side of the deer than what he was coming from. This way he could steer them back from where he came, or in the general direction the scent markers he had found seemed to come from. He couldn't be sure exactly where wolves might come from, but the information he had learned, and his experience in general allowed him to make educated guesses.
After a short period of time, the male could smell the pungent scent of deer, and he sank close to the ground, walking quietly towards them. It was a decent sized herd, nothing too small, but not too big that being undetected would be difficult.
"Maybe they'll run in multiple directions," the first voice spoke again, a wicked enjoyment seeping into it's voice.
Tavarious nodded softly as he crouched, observing the quiet herbivores, before lunging forward. A guttural snarl ripped from his throat and he snapped at several deer, terror filled bleats filling the air in alarm before the took off. He chased them for a few seconds, as the deer bolted in the direction he had come from, and in a couple of other directions too. He slowed to a stop a soft chuckle left his lips as the first voice cackled in his head.
Nodding gently, the male turned, but then thought better and stopped, his ears perking and pushing forward as he listened intently. He was trying to listen for any signs of the pack, who's territory he resided, in the directions the deer had run.

Theo // Male // Warrior // Mentions: Hunting party, Alpha siblings, Tavarious . +His head turns to the male the spoke his name, his eyes serious, cold, and happy that the words that flooded out the male mouth were a go-ahead. Nodding his sunset-colored head he begins to slowly make his leave from the group of a mighty warrior, not sparing a glance to the others, having a job to do to c=scount the deers and to also spot danger if it was close, thanks to his amazing stealth abilities it doesn't take long for the male to disappear into the bush in front of him+ . +Quikcly his paws pad against the ground below him almost silent to the hearing of a master, though run through his mind about the hunt, his friends, and the danger that could be ahead, soon coming to a stop he pokes his head from the bushes slowly spotting the spotted deer just ahead of him, they were all still eating the dead grass beneath them. Though this calmness does last for long as the deer suddenly stamped in different directions, the cause for this riot was a lone wolf, a male now where the deer used to be. + . +Slowly he steps out of the bushes, the new male dint know of his presence yet and faces the lone wolf, a snarl already covering his lips, though he doesn't like violence, if he wanted to be beta one day he had to prove it o others and defend the packs ground from strangers, already his body was tense ready to pounce and attack the outsider when needed or if the other decided to attack first+ . "I ask why would you do that wolf..trying to get caught or are you just plain stupid" . +knowing the other was bigger than him that doesn't stop him from speaking his voice calm, serious, and also soft not wanting to startle the male or cause the male to flee. A tiny voice in the back of the male's head sounds an alarm begging him to call for the others, knowing the stampeding deer will startle them and give them thoughts about his safety. His eyes lock onto the other males not leaving them for a second, after all, he should give the male time to explain himself. the others will be here soon scared, confused, and above all angry, by the stampeding deer or by the fact there was an outsider in the territory+ Edited at May 29, 2022 06:29 PM by Free-Claw12

Yrsa|female|curer|mentions: Sky Five....three.....seven.....one The voice echoed throughout a hollowed-out cave which made a suitable place for a denning site. It was passed down from curer to curer. Now It was her humble abode. Fill with nothing else except for plants upon plans, the ever lingering fresh aromas emitting from the entrance, and a comfy area for sleeping. "Ten, four..." The stone cave is perfect for storing plants. Especially with all the crevices that run all over the walls like lightning crackling through the sky. One might think the cave will cave in at any moment but Yrsa can reassure you it won't. "Twelve, six..." A claw hovered from plant to plant as the she-wolf counted each herb in ten piles laid out in front of her. She would carefully inspect each one easily spotting the old from the new and separating them. She continued. "four, two. Looks like I'll be needing more. Hmm, let's see. Tarragon, sorrel, horsetail, mint, broadleaf plantain." She started to hum as she thought of more herbs to include in that list. She paused, ears flickering to the silence of the camp. It was peaceful much to her enjoyment. There was no pesky wolf around to bother her as she sorted through her precious herbs or... so she thought. A familiar voice called out her name which undoubtedly belonged to a young wolf name sky. Yrsa's fur bristled in annoyance. "Of course, someone just had to disturb the peace." She grumbled to herself. The wolf gently picked up each dried herb from the good pile and placed them within a crevice in the walls of her den. She then made her way back toward the second pile that consists of the decaying plants and scooped them up in her jaws. Making her way out she glanced over her shoulders, quickly giving the vicinity of her den a tidy inspection. A nod with a satisfied look on her face indicated that the wolf was pleased. Upon exiting her eyes met the gaze of the multi-colored wolf who seemingly was waiting for Yrsa. "Greetings Sky, I hope your morning is going well because mine was certainly disturbed." The female placed the bundle of withering leaves and stems in front of Sky. Her tongue drew across her maw from the sour taste that remained. She snorted. Raising her head a soft expression played on her face and she nudged the young female's shoulder. "I heard someone was ready to go trudging through a mucky terrain." Smiling, She yawned and stretched out her limbs before continuing, "well let's get a move on then." Making her way toward the entrance of the camp she halted for a brief moment. "Also grab that pile in front of you." She then would proceed on. Exciting and heading straight for the jungle.

Veracious~Ambassador~Female M: Border Check, Chinook, Natan, Akeena, Axel ~ . Veracious slowly walked behind the patrol, checking everything where the others didn't. She thought about the tournament pretty much the whole time, afraid even though she wasn't joining. She didn't want anyone to get hurt. Veracious soon caught up with the patrol. She kept her expression serious. She smelled something awkward and it turned out to be where an animal made a delivery. She continued after the border patrol. . Veracious was confident and kept her tail raised in case of loners, to frighten them away. She looked up into the trees and saw a plump squirrel, and couldn't help her mouth start watering. Food sounds good right now. But we are patrolling, not hunting- Focus! She growled at herself and dug her claws into the ground. She enjoyed the cold breeze as they advanced toward the tundra . Veracious opened her mouth to speak, but Chinook spoke first. "Do you all notice anything that stands out in particular?" He said. "Nothing yet!" She replied. "Natan and Akeena can patrol one side, me and Chinook can patrol the other." Axel said. "What about me?" She asked. "What side do I take?" Hmph, they forget I was here? She thought slightly mad. Well I was behind the patrol for more then half of the time. Her throat started to get sore from thirst. . Veracious heard bushes rustle and immediately jerked her head towards it, for it to turn out the squirrel. Im hungry, hopefully the hunters bring back good prey. Ugh, come on I really am bored. Well it's better then there being a band or something. A short flashback came to Veracious' mind, and she shook her head to start focusing again. She looked back at where she was going and poked her eye on a stick. "Aowh!" She snarled, putting a paw over her closed eye as it watered from the pain. The Healer might need to check that out after the patrol... . 345 Words In Post,1945 Characters Edited at May 30, 2022 01:47 PM by Bloodmoon's Pack

Sky∆Female∆Warrior∆M: Yrsa Sky looked at the cave and noticed Yrsa when she exited. She had heard her and thought This is what is get for disturbing her. Sky was crying on the inside knowing she was gonna have clean her fur agian. She grabbed the wrap Yrsa had placed in front of her. It tasted weird and Sky wanted to spit it out but knew better. She turned and followed Yrsa as they head towards the jungle. Sky said "Uherm sorry for disturbing you Yrsa but I wanted to see if you need anyone." Her voice was muffled around the wrap she was carrying so it came out a bit weird when she had spoken. Sky was shocked at the amount of vines in the jungle it seemed like they multiple or soemthing. She sighed knowing complaining wasn't going to get her anywhere. Sky asked around the wrap "what are we looking for?" Sky was curious and knew some things about herbs but not a whole lot just the names and what they looked like. Sky honestly didn't like the mucky part of this journey but knew she was helping her pack mates and her friend. She tried to make small talk by asking "How did you sleep?"
