Ashanti | Saluki/Irish Wolfhound/ Belgian Malinois | Info | Stray | Mentions: N/A Her paws squelched through the mulch on the ground, while she kept an eye open for prey or somewhere to hide until it stopped drizzling. She could hear cars whizzing by in the distance, but she was far enough away that she couldn't see them zoom by on the road. She raised her head noticing that the trees stopped some rain from falling on her and at other times dumping more water at a time on her. While her head was raised to the sky, her tongue lolled out tasting the rain. She enjoyed the weather because it was cool, but her fur was heavy and soaking. It clung to her sides, and she couldn't get relief from shaking out her fur. She was ready to find somewhere to hide and dry out. She gingerly stepped across a creek that was running faster than usual. She noticed that it was lapping and pushing at the usual banks, but she pushed it from her mind once she was safely across. She shuddered as the wetness still dripped from her and tried to shake her paws off before giving a full body shake. She continued to walk on.

After looking most of the trash cans he finally found one with leftover food inside the trash can as he gets up with his two hind legs, laying his front paws on the side of the edge of the trash can. He sees a hot dog and a half eating cheeseburger but they were a little bit far for him to reach so he knocks down the trash can over. And went to look for the hot dog and the cheeseburger from inside soon enough he was munching on a half eating cheeseburger once he was finished he decides to save his hot dog for later grabbing it and went to his cardboard box that was a distance away from people and cars. No Quarter | Nureongi - Stray | Location: The Lighthouse | Mentions: Fahren (direct)
Behind a curtain of the falling rain's mist, No Quarter was almost invisible, a figure somewhere behind a screen of ocean spray and mild island weather.
No Quarter watched through the curtain as a borzoi landed eyes on him at the same time. It was a somewhat calculating look - Quart could tell from even this distance, but he both liked and envied the observant nature of sighthounds who saw so well and deducted information from situations so quickly. Like finely tuned machines, he thought, with a slow flappy wag of his slightly-curled tail in the direction of the dog.
No Quarter lifted his nose to the air. Wet dog.. wet pet dog.. ocean.. No Quarter held his back up, stiff like a straight-backed chair, and hiked his posture up on his toes: frozen, for a moment, like a statue on a pedestal.
If the dog wanted to give chase to him, even a soft and well-fed pet Borzoi would catch him. Endeared by the proportions of such a domesticated animal, No Quarter had come much too close to these varieties of dog before.. and paid the price. But, what the hell, it was kind of fun to hunt and to be hunted. To give chase and to be chased.
No Quarter lay down against the ground and slowly sank to a stalking half-crouching position and flicked his ears up and down like blinkers to signal his intent: just wanting to say hi, though he wasn't stupid enough to approach with his food of value. (A foraged turkey sandwich.)
He buried it in the sand quickly and had left it behind him.

Silver | German Shepherd | Mentions: Taliya - Indirect | Silver narrows his eyes, not wanting to stare directly into the sun. He yawns, and spots the Husky again. Her again. Those damn Dog-Pets. So spoiled, never scrambling for food, or anything. They get food twice a day, and treats all over! They should try to live in our paws; scavenging for any scrap of food, hunting to survive, that's how we we were born to live, and that's what we evolved to be. Silver thinks, bitter. Where we struggle, they thrive. The only time they struggle, is when their humans disappear. Silver pauses. Wait-why do they disappear, anyway? Silver stands slowly. Taliya | Husky | Mentions: Silver - Indirect | Taliya sighs. That bath was amazing. She shakes her fresh coat, and struts outside, showing off to her neighbours. "Yeah, my human just did it." She brags to them. "She used all sorts of conditioners, shampoos, and other products. They work great for my skin, too." She continues. She spies the same Lost-Dog as the day before, and balks. What? Does he-he live there?! No, he just one of my many fans. That's it. A fan. She thinks, and struts back inside.

Kieran | GSD x Husky | Info | Stray | Mentions: Open The rain was quiet but everyone else was loud. The soft pitter patter of the rain was drowned out by children laughing, cars racing past, people talking, and other noises that were hard to pick out from the rest of the general noise. Kieran however, would only add to this noise by jumping in front of a moving car, seemingly in the last second. The car stopped almost immediately; tires squealing as the panicked driver screamed. Kieran thankfully didn't get hit, but he howled in pain and flopped to the damp asphalt as if he did. Several gasps echoed out into the street and the driver stumbled out of their vehicle to check on him. As they dropped to their knees to inspect him, he barked, forcing another startled scream out of them. Kieran got up slowly and dramatically, whimpering and holding a paw up as he fake hobbled away from the scene he had just caused, barking if anyone grew near. Once he was in the security of the dark alleyways of the city, he cackled out loud at shook his head at how stupid they looked. Serves them right for being such harmful beings. Alas, his moment did not last long as the rain continued to fall, irritating him. An ear flickered out of annoyance and icey blue eyes began to search for shelter. He shook out his paws, feeling the gross dampness of them and padded his way to the dock, hoping to seek shelter in the lighthouse. He was a good distance away unfortuantely, and the longer he went on, the more soaked he became. Shaking his coat vigorously was only wearing him out and wasn't effective like he needed it to be. Running out of options, Kieran settled for a last resort and turned to get to a park. Hoping to find someplace dryer than he was currently was his only mission. Ears pricked forward and eyes alert, he trotted and ignored the people who attempted to pet him. Edited at June 7, 2023 05:56 PM by Bayou

Hondo and Chase l Male l Stray l M: None . Streetlights flickered on and off as the rain came down, not two hard, but just enough to soak their pelts. It had been awhile since they had last ate, as most trashcans had already been searched through. Hondo and Chase trotted on the cild and wet pavement that marked the entrance and exits of the alleys. Suddenly Hondo dropped in a hunters crouch, Chase followed suit. Hondo flicked and ear back two times, then whispered, "Two mice just scurried in between those two trashcans." Hondo then pointed his wet and dripping nose to the trashcans about five tail lengths away. Hondo managed to stalk stealthily to the left side, and Chase followed suit but on the right. Chase flicked one of his half flopped ears and dove towards the cans, knocking over the trashcans which made a loud crash, dumping trash everywhere. One of the mice ran for its life, but right into the jaws of Chase, who easily subdued it. Chase looked back and saw Hondo chasing another one. The mouse ran in between another set of trashcans, and with Hondo, who hadnt had a meal in what seemed like along time, ran right trough both, killing the mouse with one rake of hjs claws, but both cans knocked over, creating a huge racket. Hondo stared back at his brother in horror, some other dog could have heard, or even a person, and they might not be too friendly.

Blu| Coonhound| Stray| Mention: N/A Once Blu had arrived at his cardboard box home and he wished that he could find a better place to stay at. Until he heard a loud noise and got scared a bit. He didn't like loud noise's but should he check it out? Maybe maybe not anyway he hid his hot dog snack for later and tilted his head wondering if it was a human who made that sound on accident or maybe was it another stray?? He couldn't put the pieces together in his head. But he was also lonely but he wasn't really that social with others.

Taco | Male | Stray | Mix breed| M: n/a Taco padded down the rainy downtown streets, tail swaying back and forth as he moved. The world is gray today, he thought, I wonder why? The weather did not stay on his mind for long. A familiar, delicious smell wafered through the air and into his large, wet nostrils. He breathed in the drool-worthy scent and soaked in the lovely air of tacos. He loved them so much that he named himself after them. That's right, he's a self-made dog, and he was proud of it. None of the boys at the taco place liked him, but he figured that they tolerated him enough for him to be able to scrum through their garbage. He learned better than to beg, as several customers had kicked him before. Humans were only good to serve food. Sneaking around back, he leaped on top of overturned boxes and trays, falling a few times when they folded under his weight. However, eventually, he reached the large container holding today's meal inside. Flies were hovering over the sweet, sticking, unfinished soda cans and wasted meat. Meat was glorious. Taco would've married it if he could. For hours, he stayed in there, scaring off the rats and mice who lived there with growls and snarls. He had to bite one particularly feisty one. He didn't like eating rodents--too stringy.

Fahren | Borzoi | Info | Pet |Mentions: No QuarterHis gaze was reluctantly pulled away from the dog who had fallen off the fence and back to the scrawny animal he'd spotted along the sea wall. One good tumble of the waves nearly pulled the dog from his view, even the muddied white coat seemed to blend into the foam of the waves. With a slow tilt of his head, he watched as the canine approached, feeling no need to get back onto his paws. Keen eyes traced along the dog's spine and sunken ribcage and to that weirdly floppy tail, then back to the sandwich held as a clear prize in his maw. The borzoi was not hungry, yet the pull of mayonnaise-covered lunchmeat was still a potential treat. Though, it'd be a bit like slapping a biscuit out of an orphan's mouth to go and retrieve the sandwich and dart off with it, even if he knew the stray could never catch him. Tch. Morals. As the mystery mutt drew closer, Fahren felt his confidence waver and he shied to the side, back up on his feet as quickly as he had settled. Those twitchy ears and haphazardly floppy tail said friendly, but what if the street dog was simply smart enough to use the instinctual nature of dogs to his advantage? What did his person call it...? She was very fond of her psychological life hacks. As he lowered to the floor and damp sand, Fahren decided this was as good of a time as any to approach. He did just that, slow steps forming a languid walk that would be the trotting speed of most dogs. He came to a stop in front of the stranger, and with the confidence of any tall person or animal, sniffed the top of the smaller animal's head.

Shiro | Shiba | Info | Mentions: Fahren, No Quarter Her sensitive ears flicked at the sound of heels on wet pavement. She didn't bother glancing up, even as she was greeted with the mildly obnoxious shrill voice of her owner. It was only when she heard Angelina mention a "relaxing seaside walk" that Shiro raised her petite head, void eyes staring into Angelina's very expressive and very excited blue eyes. In Angelina's hand were two pairs of small pink shoes. Doggy shoes, to be exact. If Shiro could groan, she absolutely would, but she was above that. Settling for an unimpressed stare, Shiro's eyes narrowed into a glare when Angelina was not deterred. Unfortunately for Shiro, it only took a few seconds for Angelina to successfully slip on all four shoes onto Shiro's tiny paws. Displeased by how clunky walking felt now that she was forced into shoes, Shiro complained through some nonsensical yowls at Angelina, very irate, but was not only ignored by her owner but was also met with the amused grins of both of Angelina's cats. Before she could express her dissatisfaction, Shiro was promptly forced into an adorable pink raincoat that just so happened to match Angelina's hot pink outfit. She supposed there was no use protesting further. She would sit and force Angelina to drag her on a walk, but Shiro hated getting her ass wet more than she disliked padding in doggy rainboots. The scent of salt in the breeze hinted at where they were approaching. Angelina was evidently in a good mood, humming as she strutted in the heeled rain boots. Shiro was always rather impressed by humans in heels. Surely it was uncomfortable. Shaking such thoughts away, Shiro daintily continued to walk next to Angelina when she spotted a familiar silhouette in the distance. Being a borzoi, Fahren had a distinct silhouette that Shiro found hard to miss. She quite enjoyed his company; he was a rather majestic-looking canine, after all, and that meant Shiro didn't mind being seen together with him. Glancing at Angelina for a moment to convey her intent, Shiro approached Fahren though she stopped at the sea wall, unwilling to get herself more wet than necessary. Only then did she notice Fahren's company. A disheveled white canine stood by him, and Shiro found herself a pinch curious, though she didn't have a positive impression of the nureongi. Xianthos | BMD x J. Akita | Info | Mentions: Viyon Xianthos wasn't sure what he was expecting to come across when he approached Viyon, but seeing the massive canine with his head below the water was not it. "Enjoying yourself?" Xian asked with a good-natured grin, curled tail wagging lazily. He took a careful step into the river, snorting out any water that slipped into his nostrils. The mud that had caked his paws swirled and dissipated down the stream, and he couldn't help but flex his toes, far more comfortable now that there was nothing between them. He was slightly curious now that he was practically side by side with Viyon and impulsively ducked his head under the water, just like Viyon had been doing previously. Xian was intrigued but not quite impressed as he observed the shifting riverbed. Slowly letting bubbles pop from his nose was far more entertaining, and in his amusement, Xian let loose all the oxygen he had stored in his lungs. Throwing his head out of the water, he gasped reflexively, allowing sweet, sweet air to rush back into him. Blinking some stray droplets out of his eyes, he nudged Viyon with his shoulder. "Nice new hobby, bubbles." Edited at June 8, 2023 09:50 AM by AyukioCC
