... perverts? Now, she was just plainly offended. Edrys was the complete opposite, the only reason she stood up to walk away was that they were getting.. a little too into it. Lifting a hand, she straighetend her back, and placed her hand on her chest as if she had just been accused of murder. "Excuse me? I was being the decent hu-.. decent being, and was just about to take my leave. So, if you would." Edrys lifted her blade, flicking it towards the door, "I'll gladly take my leave, and no one will have to be harmed. Hm?"
Watching as the door shut behind the vampire, Edrys sighed nervously. Now.. if only was she well rested, prepared, and not exhausted as she was, she could take this wretch. But as her minds began to slowly blur from exhaustion, Edrys couldn't help but worry about her current circumstances. And in all honesty, she was truly afraid. Who else wouldn't be in this situation? A tired, human vs. a power, blood-sucking creature with a thirst for death. This was not bound to end well. There was no safe way out of this situation. Firstly, the door. The Vampire was blocking the way, and it would be difficult to go around her. And secondly, the window. Well. That was not a choice. She was not going to jump out a window, Edrys was in the mood to take risky moves, but not in the mood to take stupid, risky moves. Well, if it came down to it, she may as well go through the vampire. It's only one vampire, but by the way she looked.. it seemed like it was not going to be easy to pass. While she was thinking, the blade she held within her hand, she twirled it between her fingers, thinking quickly of what she could do to get out of this room. But the odds were not in her favor, no.
Edrys sighed tiredly, and decided she'd just go through the vampire. Gripping the blade in her hand tightly, she barely moved a muscle, and she stumbled back into someone as she felt arms wrap tightly around her waist.
It took the hunter a few moments to process what and whom she bumped into, and when she glanced up to see where the vampire was, she was gone. But as a voice purred softly into her ear, she realized quickly that the vampire was behind her.
Grabbed by the throat, Edrys flinched, panic slowly creeping in. She was quiet, and remained calm as she possibly could, but the feeling of being sucked dry itched at the back of her mind. Clenching her teeth, the hunter squirmed under the vampire's grasp. Her breathing was growing heavy and quick, it was difficult to steady her breathing in a position like this. Whether she was growing paranoid out of fear or pure anxiety, she couldn't tell the difference between the two now. But as her breathing grew faster paced, and stifled, it was a mix of both no doubt. But if matters could not simply grow worse, her head was forcefully tilted to the side, exposing her neck even more. The feeling of soft lips gliding across her skin sent chills down her spine, sending her skin crawling.
“I can hear your heart racing, little mouse."
Closing her eyes, Edrys tried her best to quiet her breathing, to steady it to the best of her abilities. It was not working, it only brewed the paranoia within greater. Edrys could feel a nail dragging across her throat, she could feel the very tip of the nail. One ounce of pressure, and she would bleed to death. It felt as if someone was carrying a blade across her throat lightly, teasing her, waiting for her to break. Well, in this case, it was working. Her eyes were glued to the hand, waiting, waiting impatiently to see the nail dig deep into her skin and tear her throat open.
"Are you, nervous?"
Yes.
"Is this your first time offering your blood?”
.. offering was a strong word. But to answer that, no. She had never offered blood. There was never a choice, well, she was never given a choice. Was there ever a choice?
"I've never offered blood. I'd rather die." Edrys gritted her teeth, side-glaring at the vampire. Her fingers curled into fists, but as they did, she realized something was missing. The blade. Glancing down for a mili-second, she saw as the blade was in the ground, the blade stuck within the wood below. How.. oh. It must have fallen from her grip when she flinched not too long ago, and she simply didn't realize it. Could she grab it? Would she have a moment to? She had nothing else on her. That was all she had, and now, she had nothing. Edrys suddenly cringed at the feeling of the vampire's fangs grazed her skin, moving her shirt downward to expose more of her skin. She shuddered. She could feel the soft tugging at her skin as the vampire nipped her. It disgusted her, it truly did. She wanted to shrink away, hide away from this thing.
“I like how you taste. I’ll be keeping you.”
For a moment, Edrys was speechless. She felt paralyzed, she couldn't more nor could she feel as if she were breathing. Keeping her? What was that supposed to mean? There was no way in hell Edrys would become some kind of.. pet. Over her dead body. She'd rather end her own life before becoming some pet, or servant to this creatures. These vampires. Why do these.. these cursed beings roam this world? They have no place here. They don't respect their own lives, let alone the lives of others around them. They take the lives of innocent people for the benefit of themselves, they don't even kill for the right purposes. They are a plague infecting this world, and Edrys would do at nothing to stop the spread.
While being twirled around to face the vampire, she learned of it's name. “Umbria Septimus.”
Edrys could feel herself being pulled in closer to this, Umbria. Her hands were wrapped around her, keeping her close. It was uncomfortable, it was driving Edrys crazy. Edrys was not one who appreciated to be tightly embraced, let alone embraced from some blood-sucker. She hated how Umbria was touching her, it made Edrys want to curl up in a ball, and hide in the shadows, far, far away from this vampire. When Umbria had asked for her name, she clenched her jaw. "My name has no importance to a low-life such as yourself," Edrys breathed through her teeth, a disgusted look on her face. Umbria was treating her like a newly-bought toy, something she'd use for the first few hours, and when finished, throw away in a corner to never touch it. However, in this instance, instead of "throwing" Edrys away, she'd be taking her life instead and then throwing her lifeless body to the side.
Moments later, Edrys found herself being carried like some giant toy on someone's shoulder. Of all the emotions to feel, she felt embarrassed. Of course, she didn't look as if she felt any emotions, but inside her head of hers, she felt embarrassed.
“Come on, mouse. I’ll keep you safe from these big, evil bloodsuckers you hate with a passion.”
"... I'm not incapable of walking," Edrys muttered, clearly annoyed. This was absolutely childish. Maybe she was giving Umbria too much credit. What kind of vampire carries their live prey on their shoulder like this? One that didn't take humans serious, that's for sure. So.. she could potentially get away from this vampire with no problem. She just needed something to help her a bit out.. boom. Ahead, merely a few feet away and closer, a corner was coming up, something she could grab ahold of.
Waiting patiently as Umbria walked, Edrys reached out quickly, her fingers tightly grabbing onto the old drywall. Apparently, the wall was weaker than what she had planned, as her fingers cracked through the drywall, creating a hole. However, this could be greatly used to her advantage. Musting up all the strength Edrys could, she pulled her body closer to the wall, and once her legs were somewhat free of Umbria's grip, she kicked outwards, kicking her legs free.
With a violent turn, Edrys fist swung and she threw a punch aimed for Umbria's face. Unsure of whether she made contact or not, she quickly gained balance, and began barreling it down the halls.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," she cursed to herself as she quickly looked back and down the hall. All she had to do was get outside, and she'd be home free. That's all she had to do. Like a game of tag.. just, if she was tagged, she was dead. Edrys glided down the halls, her heart racing as she ran as far and as fast as her legs could carry her. Could Umbria even catch up? Hopefully her hit landed, it could have stunned her, even for a little bit and given Edrys a second or two advantage. This was not what she had in mind for tonight. She shouldn't have followed Lovel. Bad idea, such a bad idea. Look where that got her. Now she was running for her life, no weapons, no armor. All she had was her brute strength, and even right now, she didn't even have that. She used most of it just pulling her body weight back there, and now she was using everything else she had left to propel herself forward. Oh god, how stupid could she be? If there was a book of dumbest mistakes ever made, this would surely be somewhere on the first 5 pages.
Edrys shuddered even thinking about what Umbria had planned in store for her. What she had pulled back there, it was barely anything, and she could barely bare it.
Taking a hard left, and then a right, another left. Her boots skidded across the floor, and she almost lost balance a few times. Old pictures that hung on the old wall were blurs to her, either because she running to fast or her eyesight was blurring to exhaustion, she wouldn't know. She didn't even know how far she was from the door, but she hoped to god that those doors would be wide open on this next right, wide open.
