You decide to stop and read before you do anything else, heading back to the empty Igloo you sheltered in and curling up with your bearskin blanket to stay warm.
"Serenity in Snow"
By Panthera Whire
We set off from Glowmire last night, and left the forest quickly. It was from the Lava tubes that we finally found the Tundra.
We are a band of creatures built too thick for the heat of the forest. Edmond Bear, Gram Winter, Jezuli Wilds and myself have all embarked on this journey to create a second safe space within the Rotten Forest. A checkpoint for those that find themselves stuck in the snow.

We began construction on the camp this morning, after crawling out of a snow den that we dug. The igloos are already looking great, I'm sure we'll be able to sleep in them tonight. We came in what we assume is summer here, to give ourselves as much time to set up as possible.
Past the writing, are some sketches of what the camp mustve looked like at first. The 3 igloos beginning to be built and a cart of supplies in the foreground.
On the next page, though you see it's dated several months later.
We've been living her successfully for about 3 months now. I admit, with all the work to be done, I had forgotten I started a journal. But we've made some great progress, trading routes with some adventurers have brought us herbs and spices, and there's never a lack of meat around here if you're willing to hunt it. We're becoming a little worried about the winter, though... the temperatures just keep dropping, we thought it would bottom out when it hit -50 but we're at -74 and still going down. Hopefully whatever cold snap this us passes before there's too much trouble. We haven't had enough time to create a food stockpile yet.
You flip the page with a sigh, already knowing what happened.
We've run out of food... and are trapped within the t feet outside out igloos until this massive Blizzard passes. However... we've made a choice. Instead of going mad with hunger and turning on each other... we're simply going to put out our fires tonight and go to sleep. If you find this and are hoping to make a civilization out here, be warned... the last time I looked at the thermometer it seemed completely broken...
And that was it... you closed the book and looked around with a sigh. They'd left the lantern as a beacon to be found and still, it had taken you 3 years to stumble upon them. Who knows what else, or who else got buried in this place.
