Deverick - M - Subordinate - Mention(s): / (ind: Doji)

Deverick awoke to a pounding in his head. Not a nice pounding, either - it felt like a really big marching band playing a really loud march over and over, all in the confines of his head.
He felt like he was going to be sick.
Vaguely, he was aware that he was in some sort of kennel. A white plastic carrying cage, which he was stuffed into, his tail forced to do some unnatural curly thing, and if he tried to stand up he'd bang his head on the top of the plastic box.
Scrabbling awkwardly, using some purchase from the bottom of the box, he managed to stick his head out of the front of the box and lean out, panting awkwardly as he struggled to keep his nausea in check.
Eventually - thankfully - after what felt too long, the nauseousness subsided, and he was lucid enough to take in his surroundings - beside the annoying plastic box he was in.
Now that he was looking, there were more plastic carrier-boxes, arranged in quite a nice circle. Some of his packmates were in some of them, still unconcscious, some were out. As he watched, Doji simply walked off, following her nose to god knows where.
And he was parched. Heck, he didn't know he could be this thirsty.
Then he looked further afield. There were - those were actual trees there. And a mountain range over there. Without a fence.
Scrambling out of his little prison with a bit of new vigour, he took in the greater surroundings properly for the first time. Yup, there was no fence. They were no longer in the sanctuary - they were out. They were free.
Tripping slightly on the bottom of the cage, somehow he managed to scrabble out of the little plastic box - and somewhat regretted it as the heat and the sun started getting to him, only excaberating the problem that he needed water with a passion. Holy crap, but it was so hot, and bright.
So... this was what laid beyond the bars of the sanctuary. Deverick just didn't know what to think of that.
