Spottedshade's ears flicked up in excitement, and her tail raised. Her chance to prove herself was coming sooner than she thought! "I won't disappoint you, my queen." At least I hope I don't. Spottedshade felt like she always messed things up. She prayed this time would be different.

Hearing Nyota's plan, he got up with her and lowered his body off the rock. Rubbing his head against hers, and gave a lick to the muzzle, "Good luck, be safe." He said. Seeing the smaller female, Spottedshade, going with... his gaze upon her was fixed, stern... Calisto's demanor became more... angry, tense... He walks by her quickly as his muscles ripple under his pelt. They were abnormally tense, as if he didn't trust the lioness. Although, not much judgement could be passed, but he had his reason for having a bit more doubt with her.

The king approached Acacia, "Good luck, take care of my girl." He gave a half smile as his tail flicked. With that, the king walked away from the small hunting party and walks off; back towards the watering hole to see if he could figure anything else out. Pushing though the taller grass, again, smaller prey ran away but an older zebra bull stood his ground as the two exchanged looks. "I am not here to hunt you old bull... drink in peace." Calisto said as he laid down on the dusty shore. The circle of life connected all living things, and it was a peace all respected.

"How is your Pride Calisto?"

"Doing as good as expected. With water being low... we are forced to ration."

"Hmm... Well your law on that will not pass to my herd, we have new foals and their mothers need the hydration."

"Then find a new way bull... this watering hole needs to be rationed."

The older bull stomped his hoof and snorts in annoyance. "You lions think you get everything, control everything... it's sickening."

"Its the circle of life... this is how things are." Calisto growled in warning... the bull better back down.

"This will be the start of the downfall Calisto... control this, what will stop you from taking more?"

"Mind yourself Old Bull... we lions also get hydration from the blood of others." He sneered. Getting up rather fast, the bull did not challenge the move and took off running. Calisto laid back down and lets his mouth gap a little, letting more hot air out so he could cool off.

Armani turned away from the King and Queen and went over to the watering hole. It wasn't that far away, quite tired she walked over there and lowered her head and lapped up the water. It was noticibly lower than it was last night but she was so thirsty.

Armani finished drinking and walked over to where Nyota was talking to everyone an she overheard her say, "I'll have Spottedshade, Acacia and myself will go on a hunt. Zion and Hemlock are patroling the territory right now. Everyone is dismissed."

Seriously again? Why did Nyota not let her go on any hunts when she knew she was one of the best, maybe it was to teach? Armani was a bit riled up and stomped over to where she usually sleeps under a rock, shady and cool but intensly hot at different parts of the day at this moment it was starting to warm up. Armani started to groom her fur while she thought, did Nyota and Calisto not like her present(Rabbit)?

Kovit's roughhousing with the other cubs only lasted so long before Nyota called out for a gathering of the older lions. So attentivly he gathered for the short mention of a hunt before getting distracted as Nyota and Calisto spoke with the chosen hunting party.

Thirst overcame him and the realization of hunger became real once again. He quickly stumbled over to the waters edge jumping straight into the watering hole playfully beckoning his sister to join, in the process splashing water all over the hot bank without thinking about how low the waterline was. In a matter of moments the sun seaped up all of the splashed water back into the atmosphere. As he did kovit noticed dissapointed glances from Armani..he wondered if he had done something wrong?

Zefira watched Kovit suddenly become interested in the patrol Nyota was organising. Then he went up to the watering hole and splashed around, inviting Asha to come and play too.

"Kovit, maybe you shouldn't play in there. You too Asha. You might get into trouble with Armani. All the older lions and lionesses have been really grumpy lately." Zefira was feeling hotter than usual herself but didn't want to get in trouble with Nyota. "Hmm..Should I ask Armani? Maybe she could tell is something." Zefira hesitated then shook her head. It probably wasn't worth it.

"I think you're right.." Kovit sighed jumping out of the shallows and back onto the bank shaking the water from his coat. He wasnt looking for trouble today-"Not it! Ill watch though..for backup" He said to Zefira anxiously. He nudged Zefira with a playful paw on her shoulder though almost hiding behind her as they debated bothering Armani for pride news. Going up to Calisto would have been far more intimidating he thought to himself periodicaly flicking his tail.

Solon's eyes awoke to a small commotion outside his den. He heard the murmuring of voices, and the squawks of birds who were far off. He rose to his paws and shook his graying mane. He entered the mouth of the small rocky den he lived in, and looked down to see a patrol coming near. They were far iff to where they didnt see him, but he could hear their voices. His Golden eyes scanned over the three Lions, all males to where he coukd make out. He looked to the sky. It seemed to be early in the mirning. Solon lived just outside Pride lands, just on the border, where they could keep an eye on him. He left the closeness of his den, to find the watering hole that was nearby.

Spottedshade shrunk under the king's gaze, feeling humiliated and exposed. She averted her gaze, unable to look into his fierce eyes. Her banded tail was low and her ears flattened in fear. She prayed that the king's anger would pass. She wanted to do well on the hunt to prove herself and get in his favor again, but aside from that she resolved to lie low.

Lionel | M | Cub | Mentions: Zion, Hemlock, Rogues

Lionel looked around noticing they were nearing the border of the prides territory. He looked around nervously incase a rogue lion may attack them. " dont some rogue lions reside around this area?" He tried to hide being scared but it did not work. His voice had a hint of fear. Every time grass moved in the wind he expected to be lunged at. He moved closer to Hemlock. He felt much safer having two adult lions around him. He wondered if any rogues were up at this time. They might still be asleep. He saw a den in the distance but not to far away. He prayed whatever lion in there was still asleep.

He heard the shuffle of smaller paws running his way, and he saw two cubs, Zefira and Kovit. Kovit had jumped into the watering hole and splashed all around... the water jumps from the hole and onto the earth where it quickly steamed and disappeared. 'No NO NO' He then saw Zefira jump in and splash which then told Kovit that maybe they shouldn't. The cubs then got out, and Calisto quickly bats at them with his giant paws. Not enough to hurt, but enough to get their attention.

"What are you two thinking?? The water is low enough and you two thought it was a good idea to just jump in and splash around? All that water you wasted, gone or adsorbed. Now, some lions will have to go without water because of you two. What do you have to say for yourselves???" He growled. "BACK TO CAMP, BOTH OF YOU!" He nudged them both a little hard, back towards camp. He looks back to the watering hole, and saw the waterline was much much lower... He would have to defend it off from prey... his pride needed the water, but they needed the prey. This was getting hard and stressful. Growling, he lashed a paw to the earth and his claws flung dirt. He needed to get out, he felt useless staying here... but he had to defend the pride. The king growls as he circled the watering hole once... studying it... it was a maybe 7 sun falls left...
