You don't have to accept item gifts. If you delete the game mail alert, the gift will still be in your inventory. You only have to accept apple trade requests.

Go to Relics > Inventory and check the gear and decor lists at the bottom of the page to look for the item you got.

If it's shown on that page, you own it. To equip it, visit the page of the wolf you wanna give it to; just keep in mind that the wolf must be 2 years old or older to have gear.

Click Manage Your Wolf > Edit Gear.
