That's a good point. I guess it would be nice if the first few generic pelts were free (like black, white...ones that the rarity stays at 0).

You're welcome.
It would definitely be nice if you could somehow not select a base coat in the situations where you were planning on using a dye; but I don't see how that could happen without there being people who would say they would use a dye, and not use one so they could get a cheaper custom.

And the base coat is exclusive, and can't be applied customs

Yeah, I get that. But the custom wolf maker strips everything and starts from scratch. You might check though if the dye you plan on using is already one of the options for pelt colors when making the wolf. If so, you won't need the dye. ;-)

I used a stock photo for the outline and as a general guideline for my shading, but I've painted over the whole thing, redone the mane, and completely changed the colour so it's not quite a photo manip. The credit is on the image.
