So I'm coming out to my dad when he visits. My mom and siblings know, but he doesn't, and I want to come out to him. Like it's not something I 'have to' do, but I want to. But not sure which way. I am trans but my dad still knows I'm a girl. That's not true, and I'd like him to know because it makes me uncomfortable when he refers to me as she/her and daughter. I barely see him anyway, so it wouldn't change too much. Telling suggestions and stories would help if you'd like to, but you don't need to ^^ Total Votes: 17

the best thing you can do is give it to him straight up, plain and simple. something as short as, "dad, im trans. i am a boy, not a girl. please refer to me as (name, if you chose a new one) and these pronouns".as long as you know your safe while doing it, just find a quiet time where both of you are in a nice mood and talk to him about it. get whatever you need to out immediately then let him talk and ask questions if he has any. i wish you the best luck and know you are valid whether he supports you or not!! <3 |
