LEts talk about all things AI!! You can do your opinion. My opinion is that AI isnt bad, but its not good. And it may be heading toward bad... REALLY bad. Total Votes: 13

I have very strong opinions on AI 1. The data centers use an insane amount of energy and freshwater while much of the world is in a shortage. Areas around the data centers no longer have clean drinking water if they have any. These are already rural areas where it's harder to access other resources. 2. AI has stunted creativity, people no longer put in the effort to learn to express themselves with art because ai will do it for them. AI models also are stealing art from actual artists. People no longer go to artists to pay for art and its become normalized to steal it. 3. AI is harming education. People are less willing to learn things because AI will answer their questions. Students are using AI in schools as to not do any work or learn the curriculum. Many cant even write without AI and literacy rates are dropping. 4. AI is not accurate. So many people are putting their full trust into AI when it is not an all knowing thing. It takes information off the internet, which you could look for yourself, and takes it out of context. Not only that, but its incredibly bias, AI will say what you want it to say, not what's right. 5. AI is taking from human jobs. I think its insane to blame the job shortages on other things that aren't relevant when AI is taking jobs that aren't only creative but in every field. This is especially bad in entry level positions, making it even harder for younger generations to get jobs. 6. In all, AI is one of the most destructive things we could've created. There is no good to it in any lense you look at. It will make degrees useless, creating debt that is impossible to repay because you can't get a job. Creativity is no longer encouraged. People are no longer becoming educated and are more likely to believe what the 1% are telling them. The only ones to benefit are the 1%. While the people in poverty can't get jobs or water, the rich of the rich don't have to pay workers, they dont have debt to pay off, and they never needed a job in the first place. Its going to accelerate the already detrimental class divide. |

This, also the fact some people have died because of AI. It's not a good thing. It's so unessessary as well. We were fine before. People were smart. Kids were learning. Now? Not really. Artists who are losing their jobs aren't just image artists, but singers, writers, and more. The whole human culuter is collasping. Our many years of forming the best curriclums are going down the drain. For what? A select few people to become trillionares while the rest of the world falls apart. AI is setting us back in time. It is a terrible thing. |

Now schools are encouraging kids to use AI for stuff. They'll all just turn out not knowing things. Like AI is helpful in some aspects, BUT it is bad. People have died. Kids just use AI instead of doing it themselves. You wont learn anything by doing that! (Im homeschooled so I dont have to deal with public school) |

I want to turn into a dragon anyway. That'd be sick. Burning AI to the ground would be my main quest though

in my opinion everything about models like chatgpt are disgusting . there is not a single redeeming quality to them in my eyes, and if there was it would not outweigh all the damage they do. ai in general can be helpful but generative ai models are not necessary. it's so sad how industries like software development have become dependent on ai (mandatory to use it in some fields!) and how creative media is being overshadowed by it. really saddens me as an artist how much ai generated images have become the norm on art websites like DA |
