doing a quick google search says 91% of them are in middle east-north africa, 89% in central asia, 40% in southeast asia, 31% in south asia, 30% in sub-saharan africa, 25% in asia–oceania, around 6% in europe, and 1% in the americas. |

So, you know our prior conversation about the characters knowing a truck load of languages? Would it still be crazy if there was a power that allowed someone to quickly learn a language ((I imagine it being touch based in some way, Starfire from DC with that kiss thing is an example that comes to mind)), but only for a certain amount of time. Perhaps even only once or a particular set number of times that's quite small like two or three for every language, without normally learning any of them besides the one they grew up speaking. |

that sounds dope. like said character could be working with some spy people, and in a foreign country, they could use this power to help communicate and learn more. |

Oh, you know what bothers me? When people claim to be literate, but are not. I am in no place to really judge, but there's a universal sort of standard of literacy. That standard is not three sentences with improper grammar and no variation in structure and length. These inaccurate claims of literacy have gotten me caught in some rather frustrating RPs. I kinda feel like a jerk, judging the skill of someone's writing, but, really, I feel as though it would be better for all parties to just accept their literacy? If one doesn't know, ask. It's just not fair to oneself, or the other RPers to claim a level of writing one might not be at yet.
It also bothers me when people claim their clearly semi-literate forum RP to be literate, and post in the literate section of the forums. I just - again, I feel like I'm being rude and picking on trivial sort of things, but it does irritate me :')

Odd how it's never occurred to me to play a character with specific medical conditions, given how fascinated I am with reading about diseases and disorders. I always had the subconscious connection that disabled = wheelchair = loss of limb function, and I was never interested in playing that. But now, thanks to this thread, I have so many ideas. I am excite @Corax: my writer's block has nothing to do with word count, it's more of how coherent my words can be :') @Boundless: I know right |

i have an oc with schiznophrenia. i personally don't know anyone with it or nor do i have it, but, it seemed like one of those illnesses that were interesting enough and i had a basic understanding of it. its just the fact that i don't do anyone with disabilities/disorders/illnesses because i don't have much experience and then there's the fear of offending someone who does have it. would there be any way to combat this? i mean research of course, but any other ways? |

Oh, I have a character with a schiznophrenic and bipolar father. (There's actually a term for the combined conditions that I forgot) It is really difficult to figure out how to write those types of characters. Maybe try to find an RP partner that's there for you to try your character, and offer improvment? So, kinda a character/writing development RP? |
