This part of FMC is easy to do, if you have the right wolf.
Look for a wolf that is an Excellent Howler.
To get an Excellent howler you need to either rate a wolf of your own, breed one, or buy one.
Check if you have an Excellent howler already:
Scroll down on a wolf's page, near the bottom. Right above a wolf's killsheet is something that looks like this:

I circled in red what you need to look at. The Howling rating.
If the wolf hasn't been rated yet it will say "Unknown"
It costs 50 mush to rate a wolf to excellent. 1 apple if you want a more specific rating (with numbers going up to 50. 40-50 is excellent)
For FMC it'll be useful just to know your wolf is excellent. No need to spend an apple.
Breed an Excellent Howler:
The best way to breed an Excellent Howler is to have a female who's not terrible at howling. I would use an Average or Good howler.
Find a stud in trading post who is an Excellent howler. Breed to your girl.
Breeding doesn't give you a 100% chance of getting a howler. You're likely to get at least one Excellent howler, but not guaranteed. If you want to increase your chances of getting one, you can buy a Passionflower in barter. It will help your chances of getting better ratings, but not guaranteed.
If your female that you rated is already an Excellent howler you don't need to breed. You already got one to use :)
Don't worry about the age of your howler. Any wolf can howl, even old wolves and pups.
If you cannot successfully get an Excellent hower, you might have to settle for a weaker howler. This won't help you win FMC, but you might still place and get some mush (or an apple)

How to buy an Excellent howler:
Go to Realm>Trading Post

Click the checkbox at the top that says "For Sale"
Scroll to the bottom. Check the checkbox next to "Howler"
This will automatically search for Excellent howlers!
Click on the one you want to buy (that you can afford)
There's your howler for FMC :)
When FMC starts you go to the Howl To The Moon link. Scroll down a little. You'll see a spot that has a drop down. Click on that, find your howler wolf's name, and then click howl!

Make sure you howl every day of FMC! If you miss a day you might still be on the scoreboard, but you may drop a few places down.
