SPYROS

dominant male | 4yrs old | timber wolf

•••

PACK INFORMATION

Name - Vasily Creek

• # of Adult Wolves - 9

• # of Pups - 4

• Territory Overview - Located on the right side of the creek that runs through the two territories. Its full of dense pine tree forests, two waterfalls, and a few boulder scattered mountain bases. Vasily Creek camp is based in the center of their territory, located in the dense foliage of the Eastern forest. Large rocks and fallen trees make for their dens while the prey around them consists of mule deer, white-tailed deer, rabbits, and - on occasion - elk.

• Reputation - Known for their powerful warriors and rapidly growing pack. They are rather intimidating, however are weaker in the autumn months due to the lack of food in their territory. Because of the sheer size of the pack. They're known to invade nearby territories and camps to lower future competition.

•••

APPEARANCE

Spyros is certainly an impressive male, especially for his species; an Eastern, or Timber wolf. He has a rather lean, muscular build with long legs, a curved back and a head that is head high. He walks with a certain poise, one filled with confidence and security. He's comfortable in his skin that's for sure. Spyros, as mentioned previously, is a larger male standing at approximately 31 inches and weighing roughly 75 pounds. He's an average length of 5 feet, with a long tail that almost always kept at a relaxed, yet confident pose. His fur is thick and not the best kept, kind of shaggy actually. Its long around his chest and neck, as well as his upper legs, and lower tail.

He has a long, kind of broad muzzle littered with small nicks and scars. He has an average sized black nose and a strong jaw that holds sharp, while teeth within. His eyes are hooded and dark with a dulled auburn color flecked with dark brown.

When it comes to his pelt and its coloration, a deep mahogany brown — nearly black — takes place on his muzzle, face, down his neck and to his chest. This color leads down to his two front legs as well, mixed with an every so slightly lighter brown as well. His chest is paired with a creamy colored patch, taking shape as a rather deformed looking star, small flecks of the brown within it at parts. That cream color can be found all over his ears, as a stripe down his stomach, and darkening at his hind quarters and legs where it covers completely. His paws are a dark tan coloration, as well as the tip of his tail whereas the rest is a darker cream. A lighter brown around his center blends the dark and light nicely while large dark fleckings of black take place around his middle.

His voice is rather deep and baritony, with a slight husk to it. He has a slight german-ish accent that pops up mostly when he's agitated and frustrated. His tone collected and can be eerily calm when speaking to another wolf or creature that is on the edge of his temper. He can lower his tone even further and hush his voice when he wants to come off as gentle or even flirtatious, it can also be interpreted sometimes as sensual or romantic. His laugh is contagious when its real, however the dark chuckle he sends off when angered is anything but warm.

•••

PERSONALITY

Spyros is a... complicated figure, to say the very least. The dominant male is everything a leader should be; calculating, loyal, protective, and confident. He isn't one to walk straight into danger with the knowledge that others may and most likely would suffer from the choice. He takes as much time as he's given to make the best decision for his pack, all while juggling the other things a leader is in charge of. He isn't the warmest or welcoming wolf. He knows the challenges of the world around him and is aware of the threats that lurk as well. He doesn't get attached to many for that reason and those he does get close to, he's quick to shut down when they try to get closer without his permission. He likes taking things at his own pace and seems to respect others more if they respect that.

He's confident. Not overly so, but he's prideful about his pack and himself - what he's been able to accomplish as leader. He isn't one to brag or boast but he won't take disrespect to those who think they have the right to attempt belittling his pack. He's not an aggressive wolf. Surprisingly. He does what's needed for his pack and what he does very rarely has to do with his own wants or needs. He may not be the most affectionate wolf but he shows his care in other ways. Keeping his family safe. His pack. He doesn't take joy in harming lives that could have been prolonged, but he won't hold back if they stand as a threat to those of his own.

Now, when it comes to close relationships. He may be inclined to be a tad bit more open. However, its rare that, family especially, will get so much more as a short check in with him. He doesn't open up to many. Those he trusts are certainly the only ones he may think about doing so with. He's protective maybe a bit obsessive when it comes to those he cares for, when he cares for someone that is. He needs to make sure they're safe, even if it means watching the others around him burn. If it means they're alive, he'll do it.

•••

STRENGTHS

His size has proven to be a helpful tool; providing him with an advantage in hunts as well as most disputes. He's often intimidating enough to spook off whatever creatures attempting to steal his prize.

• Spyros is incredibly calculative, often thinking things through more than the average male. This can be very useful in high-stress situations as he's able to remain calm and debate the next course of action.

• His confidence, although exaggerated, is one of his finest strengths. He's able to talk himself into or out of, nearly any situation by purely acting confident. While some would consider this manipulative, Spyros considers this a useful skill.

• The brute contains a surprising amount of stamina for a large wolf, not easily winded or fatigued while others may need to rest more frequently.

WEAKNESSES

• Due to his mid-size weight, Spyros doesn't contain the same amount of force as the larger wolves or predators. The wolf really must rely on other strategies when encountering beasts larger than him.

• While he does have enough agility to hold his weight against larger foes, he's not nearly lean enough to keep up with smaller wolves or predators; often seen as slow and clumsy in comparison.

• He has a tendency to be overprotective of those he forms bonds with, often treating them as though they're made of glass. While this could be considered a good thing; he takes it to new levels and has risked his life for those he barely knows.

•••

AFFILIATIONS

Head Hunter - ♦♦♦♦◊

While Spyros' sister leads the warriors, Enoch is head of the smaller group of food providers. He is respected by his leader, which is really quite a rare feat, and might be one of the only wolves in his pack that he'd trust with his life... That wasn't family anyway. Enoch is a year older than Spyros and helped him in the hunting part of his training to become a warrior, or now rather, dominant male. They enjoy each others company and Enoch seems to even him out in personality. Charming, humorous, and patient. Everything Spyros isn't.

To be determined in roleplay....

•••

KIN

Brother - ♦♦◊◊◊

Helios is the packs head healer, as well as Spyros' only surviving male littermate. They aren't the closest, as Helios is often the one to see the brighter side of things while Spyros... Not so much. He and his brother were much closer as pups, started to grow apart when they started their trainings. Spyros wanted his brother to train with him to become one of the warriors, while Helios's mind was set on helping the pack in other ways. These two often get into little scuffles with eachother, brotherly disagreements as usual, but there will always be that level of trust between them as well.

Sister - ♦♦♦♦◊

Morgana was the only other surviving pup, along with her two brothers, that made it to adulthood in their pup years. She was brought up with two very different brothers which led to a sort of tear between them as she grew and attempted to figure out what she wanted to do when she grew older. She often followed Spyros around on his trouble making when they were younger and followed him into warrior training as well. While she and Helios have a decent relationship, she and Spyros are definitely closer. She's currently in the place of Beta, or second in command. For good reason too. She's a spitfire, strong and undyingly loyal to her leader and brother. While she may be a bit annoying at times, picky and hotheaded, she has her brothers trust.

Little Brother - ♦♦♦◊◊

Before Spyros' parents passed, Orin was born as an only child. Now, at two years old, the young trainee is in the middle of his warrior training. Spyros is surprisingly gentle with him, maybe because he sees himself in that little fiery headed troublemaker. However much they tolerate each others company, Spyros has been putting on quite the expectation of his younger sibling. Though its mostly because he wants him to succeed, there may also be some nudging to be higher than others as well.

•••

ROMANTIC INTEREST

to be determined in roleplay.

PUPS

to be determined later in roleplay.

•~• Pack Information •~•
Name: Forest Grove
# of adult wolves: 6 now 3 loners
Pups: 3 now 0
~•~
•~• Territory overview •~•
On the other side of the creek, the pines along the bank give way to massive oak tree forest that practically go on forever both to the north and south. To the east are a few hill filled valleys, and then back to forest. There's a single small lake in-between where the valley meets the north forest, but not overly big. Their main source of prey are birds, rabbits, berries, a occasional herd of deer, and for the skilled few, fish. Their camp is within a slight rocky dip between a few hills, where they've dragged a few fallen trees and brush for defense and makeshift dens. As well as dug holes for new mothers and pups, and older wolves.
•~•
Name: Red
Gender: Female, she/her
Age: 3
Species: Red wolf
Role: Dominant female
Crush: None for now
•~•
Looks: Red is a female red wolf with a rust colored pelt with hints of brown and black. Her eyes are a dark golden brown too. She's at 55 pounds, 4 ½ feet, and 25 inches tall. Her build is lean, giving her good agility, and while she doesn't have the most well defined muscles their there. Her fur is medium but slightly on the shorter side still. Her tail is also slightly fluffer then normal, along with the fur around her paws and scruff, and slight tuffs on the tips of her ears. Her only visible scars is a small one on her cheek, and one from her hind leg to half way up her stomach. Both have been mostly hidden under fur though.
•~•
Voice: her voice isn't necessarily unique or anything, but definitely feminine. Clear with, a slight southern sound. But not to noticeable. She can also have quite the honeyed voice if she puts effort into it.
•~•
Personality: Red can be slightly sarcastic and cold sometimes, but warms up quickly. She can be quite loyal to those who earn it and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Family is something she prefers to not to talk about and can be snappy for a bit afterwards when asked. There has been a few wolves past who have gotten to see her more calm, caring side. She loves pups, as well as leading hunting groups.
•~•
Story: Red was raised in the pack with two other litter mates named Fang and Lily. Her mother, Vine, was caring and everything a mother should be. But her father, Ring... Wasn't a ideal one. Nothing overly bad, but he wasn't really ever there and when he was he was distant and cold. She wanted to be a strong warrior in her pack, but struggled with being as good as a fighter as others and was slightly looked down upon. But at age of 2, she become one of the most skilled huntress in the pack, earning herself the attention of the pack's dominant male. And at age of 3, she became the dominant female of the pack.
•~•
Strengths: She is a great tracker, hunter, and when she tries to she can be a good leader. She can also eat anything that's considered food, she doesn't really have a problem with taste. Though don't know if that's bad or good.
•~•
Weaknesses: she sucks at swimming. Ask her to do anything in water and she'll shoot it down and argue for another way. Her fighting, well she can hold her own, isn't the most ideal either. She can sometimes do things without thoroughly thinking about it, and that definitely lands her in to trouble often.
•~•
Fears: Spiders. No more needs to be said about that. Water, for obvious reasons. Along with being in a position where she absolutely must fight her way out. Lastly, overly crowded areas. She can handle pack meetings and things such as that, but she does have a limit.
•~•
Male Alpha:
Herizon was the dominant male of the pack, and her mate. He was one of the bigger wolves in the pack, and was on the softer but commanding side. He had a brighter red pelt, almost dark orange in some light, along with yellow eyes.
•~•
Kin:
Lily was her older sister, another skill huntress with the same features as Red herself, expect for her greener eyes. She was sadly killed in the attack.
Fang was her little brother, a trainee with a slight brighter red pelt and white markings. She didn't get a chance to see what happened to him.
Vine was her mother, a darker red wolf with the same golden brown eyes and often liked to wear vines, hence her name. Her mother died trying to defend pack pups.
Ring was her father, a more grey colored wolf with light green eyes. She didn't interact with him much, but she did see he was one of those who fled.
(May edit a few things in the future but I think it's good for now.)

It was a normal day like any other, no-one could've anticipated what would've happened. She woke up, checked in with a few wolves who were in camp, along with Herizon. She then had gathered her usual hunting party and had left camp.
It went well except for a minor injury to a hunting trainee she brought with that hadn't been looking were they were going and ran into a bunch of brambles. The older wolves gave themselves a moment for a good laugh before helping the young one out.
•~•
She tracked and followed a small deer herd and after separating a younger deer from the herd they took it down easily and quickly. While they pack was growing, they were still small enough that'd it'd work for now. They dragged it back to camp, where they were welcomed back and wolves ate.
Everyone had just been lazying around when it started. She couldn't even register at first they were being attacked until she heard the growling and barking. She had scrambled to her feet and looked for Herizon first. But he found her first, and before she could say anything he started herding her to the now empty older wolves den.
•~•
"Stay here. If you try and fight you won't last long, and I don't need you trying too."
•~•
She wanted to protest but she knew he was right. As much as it pained her to not be helping. She didn't know how long it lasted, all she knew is she wished she couldn't hear because it was horrible. She wanted to be out there! But she couldn't. So against her better judgement, she waited.
(Kinda short for now until it gets a bit more up and running.)

SPYROS

•••

Blood.

The iron-like scent of it made the Alphas lips curl. Spyros sat atop the rocky ledge that overlooked Forest Grove camp. Or what little there was going to be left of it. Claws curled into the stone beneath his paws, eyes narrowing as the male watched the pack below. It had come time for the plan to take action. Today had been the day. The beauty of the mid-spring morning might have been enough the fool the naive, innocent eyes of those being hunted but never the hunters. Spyros had gathered some of his strongest warriors and hunters — including his two adequatly trained siblings — to travel with him over the stream dividing the two territories. This ambush was in the works since the last spring months of the previous year. After realizing just how much his brothers pack had grown with the year previous' litter, Spyros hadnt been sure of much then but he was certain of the fact that competition would only grow. Now, a year later, he and his warriors stood at the edge of the rival camp. Hunched close to the ground above the camp, watching carefully for the perfect time to strike.

Pups yelped at each other below, tumbling over one another as their innocent faces shone bright. It was unfortunate that it had come to this. Herizon should have left the first time he had been warned two years ago. But no. Now he had to go through this pain. The pain that Spyros couldn't let happen to his own pack. His own family. The dark wolf turned his head slowly to the band of wolves behind him, his eyes distant as he nodded the command.

•••

The silence that came with death wasn't welcoming.

Spyros knew this. But this silence was different. Not the familiar quiet that happened when the hunting patrol was saying their silent thanks to the fresh kill of deer. No. This was eerie. Quiet. The thump of his brothers body falling from the males jaw was numbing. He didn't look at the corpse, he couldn't. He wouldn't. Not when he had already seen the pups. His throat had caught when the damage had been done by the others was seen by his own eyes.

Tearing. Yelps. Death.

He couldn't see any more of it. The few remaining members of the pack had scattered, some of Spyros' own members chasing after them. They would return with news. Eventually. The taste of blood — his brother blood — lingered in his mouth as he padded slowly down from the rocks, eyes focused on the den ahead. The scent of her filled his senses and he slowed further. His wolves slowly started circling back to the demolished site, padding behind him just in case. The male doubted he would need any major help with this. With her.

"Red. Come out, darling."

Don't make this harder than it needs to be, were the words that seemed unspoken as his voice echoed down the entrance of the den.

She didn't know how long it had been. All she knew was suddenly quiet. To quiet. She then heard pawsteps, pawsteps that sounded far to naturally loud in her ears. And a voice, a voice she absolutely did not ever want to here.
•~•
At his words, she instinctively backed quickly away from the entrance to the back of the hole until she felt herself smack into the dirt wall. Her claws dug into the dirt below her, her ears pinned slightly, and she felt the fur on her back stand a little. On instinct, her tail tucked slightly but she mentally growled at herself, forcing herself to not show that high of fear.
•~•
`I can't stay in here even as badly as I want too.`
She thought to herself, shaking her head slightly. If it came to a fight, down in this hole wouldn't be ideal for her... Basic fighting skills. Maybe she could run, yeah. Finding a opening and running was worth a shot at least. If she could even get that far.
•~•
She took a deep breath, before padding her way slowly up and out of the hole.
•~•
The first thing her eyes focused on was the damage. She couldn't... She didn't even want to try and figure out the names she was seeing on the ground. It smelled so... Depressing? She had no idea how to word it, all she knew was it wasn't pleasent in the least.
•~•
She then looked around her, and saw them. Vasily Creek wolves. There were so many, had there always been that many? Past attacks had been little things, less wolves... They should've paid attention more. But why? Why such a massive attack? She never thought they'd aim to wipe them out...
•~•
Her attention then finally, finally turn to the wolf Infront of her. And it took everything to not bolt right then and there. She need to wait for the right moment.
•~•
"Spyros."

SPYROS

•••

Silence was the only response for a while.

The Alpha stood quietly for a good three minutes before the pack behind him started getting restless, low growls sounding from their throats. They wanted her out. He wanted her out. And she was taking her sweet time. Which was fair — they had just ambushed her safe haven. Another few growls behind him and Spyros could feel himself getting agitated as well, his ears pinning back slightly and his eyes narrowed. There was shuffling in the tunnel below and the growling quieted. The male stayed put his few feet from the den, and though his nose twitched at the strengthening scent of the female inside, he was completely frozen.

Just as elegant as he remembered. Even in this state. Spyros watched carefully as she wiggled herself out of the den, as she took in the mess around her. The wolf was surprised at her calmness and knew in almost certainty that she was warring with herself on what to do next inside her head. The others seemed to sense this as well and shuffled in a sort of coral around them, growls emanating from their throats once more as her gaze went from the bodies to them. She seemed stuck on the others for a while, or maybe — as it occurred to Spyros — she was simply avoiding the fact that he was in front of her. The source of this whole commotion. Finally, finally her gaze found his.

It was stupid. The way his throat caught, as it had done at the sight of slaughtered innocence just moments before. His gaze matched hers, deep in thought... It gave off none of the inner turmoil he was fighting inside and he was thankful for it because that stability probably helped tremendously with his ability to speak next. His voice was quiet, not exactly hushed, but in a mocking sort of fondness that he had perfected over the years.

"I'm relieved I don't have to introduce myself again, I'm happy I left such an impact on you last time we crossed paths..."

He drawled out the last few words, smooth and calculated. His tongue clicked and his eyes floated around himself, at the mess he and his pack had made before he spoke again,

"Such an... unfortunate way to meet again. I truly am sorry, my dear."

A pause. A small sigh before their gazes met once more. The males head cocked to the side, searching her face with an almost...innocent appearance.

"Well then, I'm afraid you only have two choices really. I'm sure you would rather not end up like your dear husband — or I don't know, maybe you would. Seeing as you two had enough love in your hearts to have more... Offspring."

He almost growled the word, nearly forgetting to catch himself. All he spoke with was distaste of sorts, and I slight hint of annoyance. The wolves behind him let out impatient growls and he found himself on the edge of snapping at them.

"Well, my dear pack seems to think this is going on far too long. Lets get to it then. Your choices; come willingly or die trying to free yourself and leave the rest of your pack... That made it, to fend for themselves. Your choice, darling."

At the sound of his voice, the first thing she wanted to do unexpectedly was to slash her claws across his face. Though that probably wouldn't be a good idea. It would feel good though, but alas she held herself back. Couldn't do that here where she'd easily be over powered.
•~•
At the mention of Herizon, her gaze instantly flicked to what she guess was him before quickly looking away. She didn't want to think about. She didn't want to believe either. He wasn't dead, but he was, and she couldn't change that. They all were, and she didn't do anything to help. She should've, she knew this. It would've been less cowardly to die besides her packmates, but she couldn't change that now.
•~•
Her ears flicked slightly at the sound of the growls, her gaze instantly sweeping over then herself. She was about to snap back herself but managed to catch herself and look back at Spyros. She narrowed her eyes at him for a moment, before looking away. He wasn't showing anything, so she wouldn't either.
•~•
"I'll admit, it definitely sounds like a better option then going with you."
•~•
She managed to get out, before letting out a small sigh. She couldn't do that, not if some of her packmates truly were still alive. She needed to be here for them, whenever she saw them again. She was still their Alpha female.
•~•
"Fine. I'll go with you. But don't you ever, ever think for a second this means anything. Because it doesn't and it never will."
•~•
She felt dread the moment she said it, but she wouldn't let it show. She'll bid her time, and she'll plan. She'll find a way out, a way back here to her pack.

SPYROS

•••

She was feiry. He'd give her that.

The audacity in her commentary could easily get her taken out in the circumstance that killing her was what Spyros was intending to go through with. But it wasn't, so her words merely humored him. The sigh she gave into only furthered his suspicions of the self-warring she must be going through inside her head. Oh what to do... Running would get her killed, whether the male wanted her dead or not — its in the warriors blood. Refusing to go with him... Force could easily fix that but after all of that'd already happened, Spyros was too exhausted to deal with that so again, he'd have to leave her to the others who might not be so generous. So when she agreed he nodded, completely disregarding her added choice of words.

"Probably the best possible choice you could have answered. Well done, darling."

He spoke, ears swiveling in the direction of his sister who stood in between two warriors, looking rather stiff if he said so himself. Their gazes interlocked, signalling for her to start getting the others to head back to camp through the grotesque campsite and through the dense forests. Spyros made his way behind the reddish female, nose twitching as he did so — accidentally taking in some of the scent that had made him feral not two years ago. He swallowed but sat back on his haunches, head high as he watched the others clear out. Morgana stayed behind, playing lead in the group of her, Red, and Spyros as they themselves took their turn to head back to camp.

They were slower heading out of the rival territory, especially the "scene" beneath them. Maybe to show just how much they didn't... Shouldn't care about the bodies strewn about. However high he held himself, however sturdy his movements were, he still couldn't bring himself to look down. He told himself internally that this was a thing to celebrate. He had slaughtered his brother. What was to celebrate about that?

•••

Vasily Creek camp was bustling with life, as per usual. The hunters that hadn't gone out to fight were hauling back in rabbits and a mule deer carcass, while scouts patrolled the boarders and chatted with elders. Four pups ran around the paws of their mother, a young female who had just recently been accepted into the pack via Morgana's persistent begging. However, the troop of three didn't get a whole change to look at things before they arrived at the outskirts of camp. A surprisingly large cave, looking rather damp and dark with two warriors seated outside on watch duty. The others that were sent home early must have set this up. Wonderful. Spyros slowed, leaving the Beta to lead Red to the den while he watched carefully, eyes narrowed. His sister knew what to do.

A few minutes later, Morgana exited the cave, tail straight and head high as she made her way back to her leader, nodding curtly.

"Good."

A small pause, his eyes traveled distantly to gaze at the setting of boulders that made up the cave, his expression unreadable.

"See to it that she is fed tonight. I'll be visiting her myself in the morning."

He turned to head back to main camp, dismissing his sister quietly. Unfamiliar blood still speckled his coat when he walked out of the shade.

As they walked, she focused on keeping her gaze straight ahead. It already felt weirder being under pine trees instead of oak. The stupid prickly things that covered the forest floor felt uncomfortable under her paws as well. But she did her best to hide most of her discomfort.
•~•
When they reached what she assumed was the camp, she reluctantly allowed the female, Morgana if she remembered right, to lead her to a cave. She avoided looking at any of the wolves around anymore then she needed to, and focused on getting inside. As much as she hated being here, being out of sight in a cave sounded appealing right now.
•~•
As soon as she was alone, she found the farthest point of the cave and curled up with her back against the stone. She layed her head on her paws, and eyed the entrance. Her tail wrapped around to press protective and warmly against her side. She couldn't believe it had come to this, to be held in the pack that in the past besides their Alpha she hadn't particularly hated, but now she definitely did.
•~•
She hadn't had much time to grieve. But in this moment of solitude she let herself, just for a moment. Herizon... He was gone, and he wasn't coming back. Why in the name of all wolves did Spyros kill his own brother? She knew things were bad but... Not that bad. And her kin... She didn't know if any of them were alive. And if they were, where they are. And the pups of the pack, the warriors, the hunters she grew to enjoy hunting with, the trainees... All gone within a matter of moments in her mind.
•~•
She didn't know how long passed, but someone she didn't know came and brought her food. She gave a small growl at the sight of them, lasting until they left. Oh, a rabbit is what they left behind. She liked rabbits, they were second after fish. But she would not eat food given by this cold-blooded pack.
