“There they are.” Nyx’s quiet voice snapped him from his thoughts as his eyes snapped up to the ledge, keeping their same, even, cool gaze as he watched them, wondering what they were gonna say. Arrow stepped out and addressed the pack, explaining the situation. To grow their territory? Why? What need did they have when their territory was already plenty big? Must be power, even though they’re already the biggest pack on this side of the mountain and probably the other side too.
-
He studied the alpha’s face from afar, not being able to see much detail but enough to tell that he was on his usual high horse. That smug gleam on his face, showing his ego on his sleeve. He felt the alpha didn’t particularly care on how he was seen, as long as it was powerful. After all, so many wolves have told him that he was destined for greatness… Oh how he hated those words. Putting that idealistic bullcrap into his head made him think that every idea he had was great. Just like this expedition. His mind traced back to the words of the alpha. 4 wolves.
-
Who would those 4 wolves be? He assumed one of them had to be Fenrys as every wolf knew of the Beta’s dislike for the Alpha. And obviously one of the heirs, not to teach them to survive but to simply take the credit for finding the new territory. Would one of the wolves be one of the healers? It would make sense, as no one wolf really had any experience with herbs besides the healers. Would they send Jeroboa? Or maybe Echo? Upon the thought, his amber eyes scanned the crowd of wolves, looking for a certain fae but couldn’t find her. “She’s sleeping in again.” He said, looking at Nyx.

“There they are.” She mumbled quietly, so only Blu could hear her. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she watched the alpha pair, Arrow stepping forward and addressing the pack before going to Matzaka. What was this plan of theirs? She didn’t like it. Why did they need more territory? They had plenty and no pack dared challenge them. Maybe the alpha just wanted control over the full mountain. With the size of their pack, they should be able to do it. Though not without losses.
-
Her mind wandered from the alphas to the pack, her eyes flitting over all the different wolves. She would miss all of them if any of them were to perish. Some more than others, but she would miss any and every wolf. Besides one specific one… Her eyes went back to the alpha male. Arrow was ok, Nyx still didn’t like her but she had her nice qualities. Matzaka? She never saw a likable side to him. He has and will always be an egotistical maniac in her mind.
-
She was snapped out of her thoughts by Blu. her eyes scanned the crowd again and she inwardly groaned before getting up from her feet. “I’ll go get her. Since you don’t care too.” She sneered quietly at Blu, which earned her an amusing look in his eyes before he looked back towards the alphas. She slowly padded to the apprentice den, sticking her head in and squinting at the sleeping form of a wolf. “Echo, it’s time to get up.” She gently poked Echo’s sides with her paws.

Echo’s eyes slowly flickered open at the gentle poking on her side. She rolled halfway over to look at the wolf and sighed before laying back down. “Just a little long-” She mumbled sleepily before jumping up suddenly after Nyx jabbed her this time. Hard. “You are the Healer Apprentice. You don’t have time to be sleeping in all the time. Matzaka is looking for a reason to get you out of this pack. And I refuse to let him. You need to show him you’re willing to help this pack and not be lazy. Now let’s go.” Nyx snapped at Echo, who hung her head and followed Nyx to where Blu was sitting, just at the back of the pack for the meeting.
-
She dipped her head slightly to Blu, who simply ran his tail over her snout. She shook her head and stepped back, a slightly narrowed gaze on Blu, who just had an amused look before looking back to the alpha. She sat down next to Nyx and waited, her eyes curiously bouncing among all the wolves in front of her. She hardly knew any of them really besides her Mentor Jeraboa, but even then she didn’t particularly know him.
-
“You need to start focusing more. They’re probably gonna send you along with the party as a healer.” Nyx whispered, Echo looking to her with a wide gaze. “W-Why not Jeraboa? Wouldn’t he be a better pick?” Echo asked, tilting her head slightly, which earned a soft chuckle from Nyx. “And what? Have you sit here at camp all day with no one to train you? Plus, what if the camp gets attacked? They would need their main healer.” Nyx responded, looking towards the pack. Echo went to open her mouth to argue but couldn’t find any valid point to argue. Nyx was right. In the event of an attack she would be more of a hindrance than anything.
