I watched her walk away and I turned around and went in another direction. It didn't take long before we were out of sight from the lake, then I heard the sound of someone changing forms. I turned to see the kitsune had changed forms (Link). (I'm too lazy to translate right now)

"How old are you?" Dawaco asked

"I will only share if you do as well," I said and he nodded

"I am 25 human years," He said

"We aren't that far off, I'm 22 human years," I said and continued walking. He followed right behind on my right side, we stayed quiet for a while until he spoke up.

"Will you be my companion?" he asked

"I don't know if I am still going to try and find a better home or not," I said "otherwise I would say yes,"

"If you were okay with it I could ride on your back when you traveled?" he suggested and I just paused

"Give me a bit to think about it, I'm still going to hang around here for a little," I said and he nodded.

Over the next few days, I studied and researched excessively. Talkig to Void had given me a painful reminder of how much I missed my best friend. I needed to find him. And maybe I'd find the rest of my species as well. On the third day of being holed up in my cave Grynneth came up to me and asked me to come huting with him. "Not now, Gryn, I'm busy," I said absentmindedly. "But youve been in here forever," he growled. "I'm busy," I repeated. He growled again andleft. The next morning I left early to head south. I didnt want Grynneth and the others following me, So I walked through the riverfor a few miles. By the time I reached my destination, it was dark.

I had been sleeping in my dragon form every night for the past few nights. I found the kitsune started sleeping against me the second night when it got cold, then he just kept doing it. I just got back from wandering and let him go on my back for this trip, he nearly fell off when I landed.

"I thought I said hang on?" I said with a laugh

"Well I don't want to hurt you or break your spines," He said defensively as I walked into the cave still in dragon form.

"I'm a dragon, in dominance battles and when we go to mate we literally bite the back of each other's neck. We have thick scales and touch spines for a reason," I said with a laugh as I lay down to sleep. He opened his mouth to say something but closed his mouth and huffed before laying against my warm stomach. I laughed and lay my head down to rest, covering him with my wing.
