I have a squirrelnamed Shadewing that I absolutely adore, although she is 17 and will probably pass soon. She has a grayscale coat, and ive been trying to breed her with other males with grayscales, so I can have a kit that looks similar to her, but no luck. How would I breed her to do this? Or do I just have to breed her with grayscales and hope for the best? |

You just have to breed her with greyscales and hope for the best. It also depends on the family tree. If the parents of the squirrels weren't greyscale then the kits are probably getting their grand parents genes so it depends on family tree as well. |

The kits coats have nothing to do with the grandparents. kits can only inherit their parents markings, so I suppose the kits would only have markings that the grandparents had, but they won't inherit markings and colors from their grandparents that the parents don't have.
If you want a kit that looks similar to the mother, try breeding her to a squirrelthat has similar markings and color to her :) |
