Custom Gear Description:

Basically a woolly mammoth. I don't have any reference photos, but there are should be public domain images out there. Primarily, I'm looking for long tusks with a significant upwards curve. If you can, I'd also like the wolf to appear bulkier, especially around the shoulders, and have longer, coarse/stringy fur. A little additional floof on top of the head is alright; just try not to let it look like Manny from Ice Age, for both copyright and cringe purposes. I'm thinking leave the tail, ears, paws, and muzzle pretty much alone and no trunk, mostly because I don't think there's a way to make it look good. As for coloring, I mostly want it for this wolf, so preferably it would go well with his pelt and keep the darker neutral black-brown colors. The tusks would be an off-white, like an elephant's. In short, the key points are tusks, more bulk, and coarse fur.

Keeping in mind that this is a very rough sketch to hash out the idea, is this along the lines of what you're looking for?

(i drew a trunk to se if i could do it and i think it'd work just fine honestly ;D i can still do without if preferred!)

as for pricing in barter, it's really more

-how rare you want it to be (higher cost means less people can afford it / will buy it and thus, it stays rarer)

-how much you want to pay to put it on more of your wolves. You get one free copy of gear as the sponsor

if you like the concept, i'll slip it into my work flow to finish up while i'm doing things, and submit it for approval when ready (and after a final approval by you). 10 apples will be due when and if Eve accepts the finished Alpha's painted concept. She accepted my snakeskin edit so i'm optimistic she'd be okay with this one 👀

This one would probably take me a while as fur texture and doing highlights/shadows for lineart edits that look good on any pelt beneath are tricky, but it is doable!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going for. The only things I'd say is I'd like the colors to be a little darker, kind of like how Jack's shoulder/chest is, especially around those areas, and to show as much as the wolf's underlying pelt as possible, though I do anticipate it being difficult to have that work well with the parts that extend from the wolf outline. The trunk looks a lot better than what I was thinking lol; I'd keep it in.

As for pricing, let's go with 1 apple; I wasn't sure how much of what I was asking was realistic (not an artist here lol). Decently rare, but not unrealistic.
