Murder Mystery with a hint of Romance
Plot
In the once peaceful town of Colchester, Virginia, the residents have lived in a constant state of fear. Six years ago in October, five young residents were brutally murdered and laid out on display. Each of the five victims dressed up to resemble a character of Halloweens terrors. Scattered across the town until the local police force were spread out thin. On the last victim, a note was found, and further panic ensued.
"This is not my final victim. Just as the moon does, I will return, and you will never see it coming."
Over the next few years, the town has lived in fear, not knowing when the next killing spree would begin. Local police and surrounding city police crowd the streets, constantly on the hunt for this Halloween Killer.
Muse A has recently moved to Colchester, becoming the towns newest detective. Tired of her family's constant hounding, she is desperate to prove herself. So, Muse A takes on Colchester's toughest case: The Halloween Killer, and attempts to break it wide open.
Yet, when October rolls around, the killings begin again. The case is still virtually unsolved, law enforcement have no choice but to order a complete lockdown on the town and bring in outside help.
Muse B is a highly successful, intelligent Special Agent for the Criminal Investigations unit of the FBI. He brings his team in to help, joining Muse A in her mission to bring down The Halloween Killer.
Muse A is on a desperate mission to prove herself, especially now that Muse B has joined the case. She works desperately for a lead, annoying Muse B with the way that she conducts her investigations.
However, she gets her first lead on the night of the second victim's death. By the victim himself. With this new lead, she throws herself back into the case, willing to do whatever it takes. Even crossing into the Land of the Dead. However, she incurs much backlash from her belief that the case could be broken wide open solely by the supernatural.
The two hate working with each other, Muse B thinks she's reckless and asking to get killed. There's always a tension that divides them, until Muse A gets too close and almost loses her life to the killer. But, when that tension shifts to trust, things flow smoother.
Late night case discussions, rguements, skepticism, distrust, unease between agencies, and the killer being closer to the case than expected? Everything Muse A and Muse B know is being tested, their worlds are being challenged, and the only ones they seem they can truly trust are each other.
