I tried to make a custom sapphire crystalline, but it wouldnt let me. I had more than enough apples. Is this a premium feature or something?

do you have a sapphire dye? dyes are the only way to get any crystalline pelt (unless you breed, but that's another story)

yep. its why crystallines are so rare, the cusotm only lets you see the dye and use it if you have one
