Boating accidents, venomous sea creatures, scuba equipment malfunctions, even murder, there are so many ways to die on the ocean, and people do, all the time. Lost at sea.

Not everybody gets to come back. In fact, as far as the greater world is aware, death is a rather permanent affliction.

Which is why, it comes as rather a shock, when six individuals, each of varying ages and backgrounds, wake beneath the waves, their only memories that of their traumatic deaths.... Oh, and they're merfolk now.

Each of the six has had their bodies transformed, stretched and molded into unique representations of nightmare fuel, with all the bizarre instincts to match. They are alive, but they've been irrevocably changed.
