Had it been wrong for Nocturne to decide to go on a late night walk? Maybe. Had it been even more wrong for him not to tell anyone? Oh definitely. But hey, the fresh night air that greeted him was more than enough reward for the pup. Besides, it was a relatively clear night despite him not being able to see the moon in the direction he was going. Somewhere along his way, the dark greyscale pup had stumbled upon an open field amongst the endless forest of trees where some fireflies were dancing, and still with an urge for adventure he had decided to stick around for a little while longer.

Nocturne sat down after a few minutes of walking, allowing himself to take a breath and enjoy the small serene moment he was in. Briefly, a firefly or two would land on his tail or back before immediately taking off again, flashing yellowish-green in contrast to how dark their bodies were. Slowly, he turned his eyes to the sky above him and allowed himself to smile. He didn't quite understand why they left the old place, but Nocturne wouldn't question Soot or Flinch. Things would work out, but for now he laid down on the grass and brushed his tail closer to himself. A few more minutes wouldn't hurt.
