Hey all, thought I'd stick this here because I swear I can't find help anywhere else. So, I got myself Adobe Illustrator recently, with the little tablet and pen and have been attempting to do some stuff on it. I'm decent at drawing and coloring, but there's just one little problem when I try to color...

For some reason, I can't get the color to go behind my image. As in, behind my lineart so that it doesn't go all over top and screw everything up so that I can't see. I did it once, now I can't figure out how to get it to work again and I'm stuck >.< Please, please let me know if there's something I'm doing wrong! References to help pages, videos, anything would be appreciated here! I've tried checking YouTube, Adobe Help, and a whole bunch of other stuff, but I can't figure it out.

Yes, I'm an idiot. Please help the idiot figure out what to do. -_-

I don't know if Illustrator allows layering, but if it does...
Make TWO layers. One for your lines and one for your coloring.

Put your coloring underneath the lineart, and if necessary, set your lineart to "Multiply".

For example, set it like this:

I can make layers, but when I go to the options menu, multiply doesn't show up...?

I have no experience with Illustrator, so I'm not entirely sure.
An artist friend of mine suggested playing with the Transparency, if you can find where the option is.
