The Beginning of the End

Plot

Life was good. Great, actually. Werewolves and vampires lived among each other without a singular issue. Although in most lore they were considered to be natural enemies, that just was never the case. They shared territories, always offered a lending hand to one another, helped each other in times of need, and at some points, there was love between the two species. There was never a moment of hatred, and if there was, it was eventually resolved.

But nothing good ever lasts.

After a series of unfortunate killings among the vampire's clan, the killer is a werewolf. With the vampires angered, they decide to take it up with the werewolf alpha, but they discover that whoever did this was in fact gone - long gone, and there was no way they were going to catch up with them. The werewolves were sorry, trying to do anything they could to help the vampires. However, their anger was too much, and the vampires began to hold a grudge against the werewolves.

All the werewolves want is peace. All the vampires want is war - avenge those who died at the werewolves' hands. Only one issue; not everyone wants to fight, and not everyone wants peace, even between the vampires and werewolves. So one question remains;

Where do your loyalties lie?

Summary

After a line of killings committed by a werewolf, the vampires are in an attempt to avenge their fallen ones and begin to hold grudges against their enemies - the werewolves. One issue - the werewolves do not want violence, but some do for their own reasons. Some vampires don't want violence either, while others do. So one question remains;

Where do your loyalties lie?

Follow all of Eve's forum, RP, and general WP rules. Please refresh your memory if you need to.

This RP is literate - I expect at least 300 words per post with proper grammar, punctuation, etc.

Post at least once a week. If you are going on hiatus, want to drop out, or are going to be slow, please let me know. I understand.

Always have permission to harm/kill someone else's character.

Do not have OP characters - this should be a given. Each species has their own strengths and weaknesses.

Read everything. It's obvious when you don't.

I have the right to accept and decline forms as I see fit.

You have three chances to fix any mistakes in your form. After that, you will not be joining.

You may have up to two characters (one of each species). There is a chance of this changing if there is/isn't enough interest.

You may only play one high-ranking character. This is just to give others a chance on getting those ranks.

Please try to keep genders as even as possible.

LGBTQ+ is allowed.

Please balance out strengths and weaknesses. Have at least three of each.

Be sure to use the correct threads. Use the discussion for chattering, the thread for RPing, and the sign-ups for, well, signing up.

I control the time of day, weather, etc - just so we're all on the same page.

Species

Werewolves

Werewolves are created through a genetic difference compared to humans. It is unknown to what causes this difference, however, a human can still be turned into a werewolf if bitten.

Werewolves, in human form, appear with no major differences. In most cases, you will see those in a pack normally quite close as a 'friend group' or something of the sort. In public settings, they like to stick together, especially if there are any newbies. Speaking of which, newbies is the term used for new werewolves, which they are considered that for around three months. By then, they should be able to control their hunger and shifting.

When a werewolf shifts into their wolf form, it is based on emotion. Anger, sadness, etc. However, it is still possible for them to shift whenever they want (normally they master this after a year or so). During a full moon, they are forced to shift - there is no getting out of it. The first few shifts can be quite painful for newbies, but eventually, they grow used to the pain.

Vampires

Vampires were born from a harsh experiment a long time ago. Injected with a substance, those experimented on began to long for human flesh and blood. A human is turned through a bite mark.

Vampires appear rather normal to the naked eye. They do not have any major differences as the werewolves do, making it easier for them to blend in public areas. However, they do share the same issue with defectives (newly-turned vampires). Their hunger is intense for human blood, and the older vampires must be sure to keep an eye on them and teach them to feed on animals instead of humans.

Vampires always have control of their emotions, but defectives are a different story. It can differ between how long a defective is sensitive to their hunger and how long they it drive them for, but on average, it's about six months. Defectives are a lot more dangerous as they have no self-control compared to older vampires.

In order to be killed, they must be decapitated. That's the only way.

Roles Explained

Werewolves

Alpha
The one true leader of the pack. They choose who is let in, what happens to those who break the rules, when to leave the area, etc. Their word is law, and is not to be questioned. This rank can be challeneged for.

Beta
They are the alpha's right-hand. They help in making their choices, and may be a mate, family member, or just a close friend. They take the alpha's place in their absence.

Hunters
Those who hunt for the pack. They track down any food the pack might need, and it's always animals they get, not humans.

Newbies
Any new werewolf in the pack. They act like an omega, but are not treated any different. Those in the pack help guide them to feeling more 'mature' as a werewolf.

Vampires

Leader
They decide what happens to those in the clan. Their word is law, basically the same as an alpha.

Second-in-command
Leader's right-hand. Might be a lover, family member, or close friend. They help the leader in choices and take their spot in their absence.

Subordinates
Anyone else in the clan. They might hunt, scout the area, etc.

Defectives
Any new vampires. Older vampires will help them feel comfortable as a new vampire.
