Hi! EMT here dropping a medical opinion. If your health insurance can cover a doctor visit, I recommend you make a doctor's appointment with a "family doctor," also known as a Primary Care Physician, that you know and trust and feel comfortable enough to talk to because it's highly recommended that you're entirely open and honest with your nighttime and sleeping habits. It's only recommended you see a doctor if you've tried home remedies and actively trying to change your habits but nothing has been changing or things have been getting worse. You could be developing insomnia or otherwise a sleeping disorder. If your insurance doesn't cover regular doctor visits, there's some things you can do: - set a time everyday when you'll turn off your phone/computer/whatever. The only technology that should be going are anything like whitenoise makers or nightlight that help you sleep. - take melatonin. Melatonin is a natural chemical in the body that the brain produces at regular intervals that causes sleepiness and aids in going to and staying asleep. Like serotonin, your brain can malfunction and either not produce enough of it (insomnia) or too much of it (hypersomnia). Taking it for a while at the same time every night 30 minutes before you go to bed (and thus to sleep) can help you get to and stay asleep until the habit is developed and you shouldn't need to take it everyday and can wean off it and only take as needed. - there are multiple kinds of drinks and teas and fragrances that are said to help with relaxation or otherwise be a natural sleep aid. Find with works or tastes/smells good to you. Flamey said: wondering if i should like see a doctor because i keep staying up until 4:00 am+, i'll start dozing off but i feel no tiredness at all, and then i'll sleep until 8:40 am like this morning- once i slept until 6, and the house is completely quiet and my room is dark, but i can't get back to sleep ooooor maybe im just addicted to 7 second long videos of screaming smurfs
Or just say "it be like that sometimes" and carry on as you are so long as it's not hindering you or lessening your quality of life.

Ow wow that's a lot- thanks :) I haven't looked into any sleep problems but it's something weird I'll probably start cutting back from my phone and things earlier- sometimes I just can't sleep though i also feel like when I sleep I may die or am getting close to death so it's a lil scary too-

The First Responder Method for dealing with the inability to sleep: Step 1: Understand that the trauma and depression will be heavier than any weighted blanket. Step 2: Purchase a blanket and pillow that offers optimal comfort. If needed, acquire a fan and/or white noise machine if it will help you in falling or staying asleep Step 3: Tell yourself "It be like that sometimes," because it's cheaper than therapy and anti depressants Step 4: Develop a crippling caffeine addiction to where you need to have a constant intake lest you crash and instantly fall asleep Step 5: ??? Step 6: Profit- I mean, sleep.

Mm, that sounds like anxiety. Anxiety can cause insomnia. Ah yes "it be like that sometimes" Turns out it's the answer to all the worlds problems yeah I do have a lot of anxiety... maybe I'll try to do something with that when my cat died I was TERRIFIED because cats are mysterious creatures and I'd hear meowing outside and scratching in the door and I'd have to listen to music, but I can't do that anymore because I lost what I used to play it (because of stupid low volume on the device I was using- now I just have to face the strange ways of felines, or perhaps ghost cats...

Could just as well be a stray or your mind playing tricks because it can do funny things when you're exhausted/not getting enough sleep (Which is something I've experienced on my 24hr shift. I'll sometimes be getting very little or no sleep and will end up overreacting to a very mundane noise or sight or think I heard something only to find it didn't actually happen or had a mundane cause. It really do be like that.) But in any case, I do recommend just trying to change your habits and taking a sleep aid if you think it will help. Don't be discouraged if you stumble back into old habits or if it doesn't work for a the first day or three. Adjustments like these take time and it's a matter of finding out what works for you as well because everyone is biologically/chemically different and will respond to somethings differently than how someone else would respond. If after a month or two (three tops) of actively trying and nothing has change, you've been more exhausted, or otherwise something indicating a sleeping disorder, if or when you can, you should see your PCP and they'll will discuss with you what the best course of action my be and, worst case scenario, might have you do tests or refer you to a specialist.

Yeah, but the thing is she had beef with the strays, and never payed attention when she fought, so we thibg a stray got her hit and that's scary ;-; I haven't heard one in a while but still I'm very on edge k also had to bury her, and scoop her out of the ditch- I'm definitely going to try to change, I'll start with 12:30 at the latest and work down to 11, it seems good for me. It used to be that way and then-

I have issues with sleep also :') Trying to get on a normal regular sleeping schedule has been really hard. I wake up at the same time everyday but go to bed around 3-4 am. Not at all good because it's making me scared I have a sleeping disorder or am gonna die somehow from lack of sleep~ or just be very unhealthy. but on the bright side I'm going to camp for a few days and no electronics aloud so maybe I'll sleep instead of aimlessly staring at a screen for four hours before I fall back asleep. I also took a four hour nap today because I nearly pulled an all nighter.
