You slowly move your hand closer until you can run it over the wolf's fur in a cautious and gentle manner. It hasn't bitten your hand off, so that's a point in the right direction! In fact, it gives a happy pant and leans into the rubs when you reach a spot near its shoulders.

Elk bone isn't necessary since only wolves can be found in the cave currently. Without elk bone, the price is 205.

You immediately pull out a chunk of bait and toss it at the wolf. The wolf jumps back in surprise, then quickly snatches the snack and half hides in a nearby bush to eat while its tail wags happily in plain view behind it.
