As you get up, you notice something about the clearing you wake up in has changed. It has a certain quality to it, something you can't put your finger on. Shaking your head to clear the slumber from your brain, you look around your surroundings. You are in an oak forest, with a few pine trees here and there. In the distance you can see the types of trees change as you go in different directions.
to the northwest, you see that the trail is covered with fog. You can't really make anything out.

to the east, you see that the oak trees thin out into a large clearing a few meters after the trail.

to the south, you see that the trail curves almost immediately after starting on the trail and disappears past a few trees. You don't notice anything else.

You slowly awaken in a meadow. It is extremelyy foggy, and you can barely see. You notice a halo of blue light that seems to be driving some of the fog away. You take a few steps towards the light, and realize that it is a lantern. Picking the lantern up, you strain for a better look of your surroundings. There seems to be a crossroad ahead.
