Taking a look at the pile of cattails, it seems like they have been put there specifically. Investigating them a bit further provides that they were torn by something sharp, like an animal's teeth maybe? During your inspection you notice that there are some leading down the shore

You started your track deeper into the island. Once you get further into the island you start to notice some interesting rock formations that look like someone made them. You also hear the sound of branches falling in the distance
