Reprobate - You turn around and start heading back to where you came from, walking the line of trees in an attempt to get back. The further you go, the more foggy and packed with thorn trees it becomes. You swear the trees have eyes at this point and all of them are trained on you, making your skin crawl. With your free hand, you rub the arm holding the lantern as you get chills. Something just didn't feel right about this. You were sure that the trees around where you woke up, were all oaks and pine trees, not thorn trees with three inch spikes! Howling. What the hell is howling, and why the duck is it making your ears ring? The noise was loud. Too loud. It was making your head spin, you felt like you were going to fall over so for the second time that night, you braced your hand against a tree. But this time it felt weird. Fuzzy almost. Why is a tree fuzzy? You turned your head, nearly jumping right out of your skin as you notice that it's not just a tree but instead a tree with hair protruding from it's trunk. You tumble back, catching a glimpse of a face emerging from the bark beneath the hair. Disgusting. You take a deep breath to try and calm yourself, but only succeed in gagging. If the tree was in fact a tree, then why did it reek of death and decay? And what just brushed your arm?! What was that?! A low rumbling growl sounded from behind you. You scramble to your feet and take a couple steps back. With all the fog it was hard to see what the animal was, a wolf maybe? After a moment, it all lifted...except around what you assumed was the creature you disturbed. It dropped it's head and tried to warn you to get away again before snapping it's powerful jaws. - Do you... A) Throw the Glittering Vial at it in a panic (-1 Glittering Vial) B) Run!! Reprobate - You drop to the ground, limp as a rag doll. Your lantern goes clattering to the ground, somehow managing to stay lit. You landed on your left side, narrowly missing the glass vial and figure in your back pocket, and hold your breath. After hitting the forest floor, the foggy creature pads over, dead leaves crunching under it's large paws. It's powerful shoulders rolled with every step as it lowered its head to sniff at you with a wet nose. It bared it's teeth and growled again before turning and stalking towards the lantern. The creature sniffed it before blowing it out, leaving you in pitch black darkness. You could hear it moving around, feel it nosing at your pockets and nipping at your arms. The stench of it permeated your every sense, leaving you feeling like you had touched a maggot filled corpse. The creature's body rumbled again as it moved around to your head, swiping a long tongue over your face, a trail of drool dripping from your skin. You couldn't tell if it was tasting you, trying to make you move, or showing you affection. But either way, it was gross, especially when it pressed it's nose to your shoulder and shoved. It affectively rolled you onto your back and what you weren't expecting as it inspected you further, was to feel something slimy and furry brush against you every now and then. You nearly jumped out of your skin at that and when whatever it was, thumped to the ground, you had to fight to keep your lunch down. It was a piece of rotting flesh. Now, whether it was from the animal or from whatever it had last eaten, you weren't sure. But what you did know, was that this thing didn't trust that you were truly dead. - Do you... A) RUN! B) Shove it away C) Take the vial out and throw it at it (-1 Glittering Vial) D) Try to pet it E) Your choice - Items Remaining ~Moonlit Blue Lantern~ ~Carved Figure~ ~Glittering Vial~ |

Reprobate Sorry about the wait, finally found my keyboard - You rolled away from the creature, nearly gagging as you touched the rotten flesh, and quickly rose to your knees. You pushed yourself up as fast as you could and reached into your pocket, grabbing the vial and throwing it at the wolf. It landed with a crash and shattered, bits of dusty glitter permeating the air as the dog growled. It went to take a breath and immediately sneeze, the force knocking it onto it's hind end. It whimpered before sneezing repeatedly, raising a foggy paw to swipe at it's snout. With each sneeze the poor creature's head flew back and it eventually got up, taking a couple steps back and scrunching up it's face. After a minute, it was finally able to take in a deep breath but the fog surrounding it had taken on a bluish hue and sparkled. It swiped at it's nose again, trying to rub off the glitter before looking back up at you and whining. It huffed out another breath before lowering it's head and growling again, clearly upset that you threw something at it. With heavy steps it approached you, it's tail lashing back and forth with such force that you could hear it smacking against it's sides and see the droplets of dead skin and blood flying off of it. - Do you... A. RUN! B. Kneel down and try to act submissive C. Find something to try and distract it D. Try to talk to it E. Your choice |
