I kind of figured that gargoyles would have one egg at a time since they hatch out offspring that are larger than human babies. | As for where is off limits I feel like it would be dependent on the gargoyles themselves. | They're omnivores. :)

The rookery would absolutely be off limits too. No question about it.

I imagine the rookery had two entrances. The first being a large gate in the side of the castle that leads to the underground rookery. The second is a more hidden entrance in the face of the cliff that the castle sits above since the castle territory is on a cape. | But this second entrance is sat to where no human can reach it without assistance but gargoyles easily can. This leads first to a cavern where the gargoyles can go to sleep during the day since Garan won't have all of them stationed on/in the castle for safety sake. Then after the cavern it leads further down into the rookery. I picture the rookery being rather deep under ground for natural insulation and warmth.

Gotcha Gotcha. Also, how soon after egg-laying can they have another? And would it be plausible to say that like human twins, gargoyle twins are rare? Because I'm thinking, since humans technically can have two children in one year ( Irish Twins is what they're called.) Maybe she had twin eggs more recently and a regular singular egg first, and since she has the twin eggs - she's been more ill and fatigued. | | Gotcha. I feel like since it's a castle, there is like a manor house on the property and she has taken that as the space for her and her family. | | Oooo. Nice. Ooo. Where is the castle located exactly? I know you said there's a cave, and so I guess it's located in a mountainous region
