Red Rush Planning
Notes for Book
Introduce Akachi Uriel Altan in Chapter 1, as this is mostly his story. Make sure to drive this fact into the minds of readers. Set up an eventual pay-off(Chapter 1-3). History is written by the winners, Akachi basically won so make sure to make up excuses for any ‘questionable’ actions he makes. Or don’t include them. Use ‘hidden’ chapters that go over those actions/what actually happened if you don’t include them and try to excuse them.
--
Use either 1st-person POV or 3rd-person limited POV. I like the idea of trying to excuse his actions, that would probably fit better into the story overall. I’m better at writing 3rd-person POVs, so 3rd-person limited POV it will probably be. Limited because it’s Akachi’s story. First Chapter will be in 1st POV in a diary format before switching to 3rd POV Limited near the end of the Chapter.
--
Each chapter should fall between 2K words and 5K words. More is fine, that range is just as a standard, no less than 2K words. Make sure the pacing is right, Chapters most likely to be longer than 2K each due to that and how much there is to do in every Chapter in order to keep the pacing right.
--
Come up with names for countries, lovers, important followers, citizens, important opponents. I’ll add a section just for that. The year for technological advancements is basically around ~1850 CE but in the fantasy world, since that makes things a bit easier. This is all before the ban on drinking blood, as that won’t happen until Blood Clot(the probably 2nd book, might be a bit later though, which focuses more on a defining period in Earthly history).
