Ahh thank you :)) I honestly am not as well versed in viking/Norse mythologies or historical accuracies as I’d like to be, but I took an extensive Mythologies/Folklore class that focused around Norse mythology for a bit. I just took that knowledge and ran with it, really, throwing in some historical research on the side as well. It’s honestly the first time I’ve submerged myself abundantly in the world of vikings too, so perhaps I’ll do a little bit more with it now that I’m comfortable with both the viking era/Norse mythology :)) Are there any types of mythologies or historical time periods that you’re super into?

That’s true - I didn’t even think about it as being a good exercise :0 I definitely plan on expanding on the story more in the future, but I will cry if I have to do that kind of script-writing again man, I just don’t have it in me ahah. I totally get that, there are far too many poetry based workshops in my area as well. I have nothing against poetry, it’s just not really my thing. At least you’ve gotten to attend one really good workshop then! I feel like it’s an experience writers on all levels should be able to experience at least once <3

Well, that's great! What are academic courses for if not to gather writing fodder? That sounds like it was a lot of fun to develop. I love doing historical research for writing. I don't know much about Norse history or viking, but I know some mythology. I've always been into religions and mythologies around the world. The ones that I've gotten deepest into are German, Yoruba, and Japanese.

Aw, I hope you never have to script-write again :( Such sadness. I agree with you on poetry. I don't mind it, but I rarely like any either. Have you done a lot of workshops?

I just wanted to let you know it'll probably be up to another month before I reply. School is kicking my butt. I was wondering if you had a specific idea of what might happen during Sir Constance's drunken night. Seems like you might be setting up one thing or another, just wanted to make sure I can help it happen if you are :)

I certainly agree :) Oh yes, it was a lot of fun. Research for certain things is quite fun though. Researching for other things? Not so much. Wow, that's really neat! I've only ever briefly touched on German, but I have never quite divulged in Yoruba or Japanese :0

Me too ahah. I just can't quite get into poetry, no matter how hard I've tried. I think the only thing I ever enjoyed doing poetry wise was stringing together a pose for an epic poem-esque type thing for a class a while back, but that's it. Hm, I believe I've done 5 workshops total? They've all been kind of spaced out through time, so it could be one more or less lol. I know I've enjoyed them all though :)

That's perfectly fine, take all the time you need <3 Honestly, when I had written the first draft I had this wonderfully crafted idea as to how I wanted to move forward... and I've completely lost it. I wouldn't be opposed to Vim finding a way -whether intentionally or not- provoking Constance through one method or another. Or, we could just simply let it unfold however it'd going to. If you get an idea as to how to advance in a certain direction for the night though, I would be most delighted to hear your thoughts :)

Researching things you want to research is the most fun, I suppose :) Yeah, I know German fairy tales are most popular. I like the originals. They're horribly gruesome and terrifying. Just like I like!

I have no idea if five workshops is a lot or a little. I mean, I've done some that lasted like two hours. How long were the ones you attended?

I'm terribly sorry rewriting destroyed your momentum :( To be honest, when I wrote to you last I was sick so I was thinking "I have to write PLOT stuff? How will I survive?" I'm better now, and 100% sure I can keep the plot going.

At this point Vim still isn't willing to provoke Constance in an obvious way. But he might not mind getting someone else to provoke him. Constance is drunk, he's in a crowd, what's the worst he can do? Logic :) If you want Constance to get his ass kicked out of a tavern, now's the time! Maybe he even wants to prove he's not lying, busts out the map, and this news gets back to Victory. That could be why the king sends a mercenary/mercenaries - after all, Constance going on the quest himself is a form of treason.

Agreed :) And for sure on the front of the utterly horrifying aspects German fairy tales possess, my great grandmother is a very German woman, bedtime stories were... interesting as a youth ahah.

Eh, it feels like a lot to me. Just because three of them were 3-day based workshops; a different segment was focused on for the 3 days the workshop was held. The others were just a couple hours.

Lmao, I've been there. I'm usually quite good at persevering with writing and plot work, but considering the swarm of chaos that just encircles me daily at this point, it is quite the struggle to find a balance lol.

I adore Vim's ability to use other people to his complete advantage - it's a skill well-needed though. Heh, what's the worst he can do, that's quite a question :) Getting him kicked out would be quite entertaining, and I do like the prospect of him busting out the map being used as fuel for the king sending the mercenaries. So let's work with those :)

Aw man, I wish I had a German great-grandmother who told me horrifying stories at bedtime. Some people just have all the luck :(

I've got a bit of chaos going on myself. But I'm almost through finals, just one essay and one presentation left. Once I've wrapped all that up, I shall get to work on my reply for this RP. After all that school, I'd say a bit of fun is due in my life.

I thank you for your compliment. I adore Constance's ability to scare the living daylights out of peope. Also a useful skill :) Though I wouldn't either of these skills are particularly socially acceptable. Well then, we shall bust out the map and have Constance get unceremoniously kicked out of the inn. It'll be much fun, I'm sure.

Okay, I just wanted to run this by you before I post anything about it.

I was thinking Vim can just go ahead and go out to get the map. I can even say Constance told him to, if you want. That will give Vim a chance to "misplace" the map somewhere they can "find" it later. He'll claim he can't find it, everyone will think it's fake. That way he can discredit Constance's claims. If Constance assumes it was stolen, he might try to find out who in the tavern stole it. Which would probably lead to him getting kicked out. How does that sound to you?

As for the mercenaries, we can have literally anybody there who already knows who both of them are, hears what they're doing, and reports back to the king. They don't neccesarily have to even see the map.

I didn't feel so lucky once upon a time lol - some of those stories were quite scarring.

Huzzah! Your academic endeavors will shortly pay off! I could be biased, but I would steadfastly agree that you are more than deserving of a bit of fun :)

I appreciate your compliment as well, it seems we mutually love our character's primarily unacceptable social skill attributes :)

That all sounds lovely to me! Having Constance send Vim to fetch the map would be wonderful - he does treat Vim like a disposable lackey anyway. I can only imagine the hysteric, drunken fit of utter rage Constance will subject himself to at the thought of someone stealing that map from him :')

As for the mercenaries - that works too. Would the "whistle-blower" who reports back to the king actually know Vim? Perhaps someone that was swindled or wronged by him and found an opportunity to get even by reporting him -and the infamous Grand Cross- to the king? There certainly doesn't have to be a correlation though, just a thought.

Too bad we couldn't have swapped story-telling experiences. I'd be a little happier, you'd be a little less scarred.

Then I shall have Constance send Vim out, and with a little nudging in the right direction all hell can break loose. Good thing for us Constance was already paranoid about being robbed! Hooray for paranoia!

That actually sounds great to me. Good to introduce one of those people of Vim's past now. It doesn't even really have to be a big thing, they can just do it all sneaky-sneaky and Vim doesn't have to know. For now. I don't mean to put all the pressure on you with Sir Constance doing things :)

Indeed - we were both robbed.

Aw, we love Constance raising hell :) And true, so it's perfect to opportunistically weaponize that paranoia! Good times ahead!

Ooo, how exciting. Yes, we love a Sneaky McSneakerson. And no worries or pressure at all :)

If anything, the more these two advance in this plot, the more it kind of reminds me of a wack D&D styled campaign lol.
