I don't remember saying that, just that be might disrespect her by mouthing back. A first option would be making him hunt with the girls, mostly about embarrassing him because he isn't a good hunter, a second would be "permanent" patrol, as in, he would have to be on patrol for a certain amount of time, without coming back to the pride, unless for reporting back don't know what would be effective as dicipline for a fully grown lion.

Kovanu's role as king is unstable. Only the Queen has a stable position according to pride law. He is really only there to be the queen's advisor and to protect and defend the pride. He can dish out punishments but Acantha would be the one giving them out or at least consulting with him about over grievous offenses. For Ethan's comment, Kovanu would only really warn him not to say it in front of Acantha; it's not punishment-worthy. It's like Shiva being all hateful -- she's not breaking rules, so she isn't punished.

Precisely - there aren't many options. Especially for the Second Male. So the most... not logical, but the most punishment-like would be some kind of demotion, which is why I suggested that. Also, I think the main misunderstanding happened due to how things were being worded in our messages, and both of us misunderstanding tone. We both misunderstood what the other person was saying due to wording, I know that, regarding your last few messages, I majorly misunderstood a few things due to the way you were wording things.

Apologies for my inactivity. Is there anywhere Araali needs to be? Have I missed much since my last post?

Polly said: Oooh she is not going to be pleased if he says something like that xD because that's basically just.. undermining/insulting her power.

I see your point.. Well, I think I escalated a bit with him beginning a fight. And I don't remember Kovanu being made to directly disagree with her, just not agree to Ethan being demoted or exiled. Being Mouthy and talking back is what we would've agreed on, not anything else. I happen to get carried away sometimes, so, sorry. I believe smaller punishments should be made or so, since some faults aren't as big as others.

I only brought up demotion or exile because you suggested Ethan beginning a fight with her, I believe. (The demotion being below everyone else if he fought her, I believe is what I said.) We did agree on him being mouthy and talking back, which is originally when I said that he would likely get some kind of punishment from that. I believe the first misunderstanding was after that, when I thought you were saying that Ethan simply wouldn't be punished for that due to Kovanu being King. But I don't think that's what you were saying.

Yes, now that I know that the King is under the Queen (I think it's unfair since the King would be the stronger one) and he would only be able to "protect" him, most likely from being exiled or demoted maybe. Although, that might change because later on it might be interesting if he betrays the pride when he gets demoted for, all of being an ass, then he decides he's to good for them and may turn to the Desert Pride or the Ufuka (Not how that's spelled) coalition for revenge or help because it's doubtful that he will survive on his own. *Gasp* should make him a little dumb so that can actually happen, and he gets himself into shit for it?

The King isn't necessarily "beneath" the Queen, and it isn't all about strength. The King is there to protect the pride, in a sense, which is where his strength comes in, and he has somewhat more control over the males. The Queen is the "true" ruler of the pride, and the lionesses. Like Rising said, though, the King's position is fairly unstable. It partially relies on the Queen's approval, and it's significantly easier to challenge for.
