The old lead stallion being straight up murdered by the over-throwing new lead stallion sounds pretty cool.

With Orion, I feel like it would be entirely possible the stallion could have died of his injuries. It could be that he was older and just unable to recover from them. I don't see Orion intently killing another, but they could have fought long and hard enough that the wounds he delivered to the other was enough to claim his life later.

A court of law would rule that as murder but that does sound more likely, lol. I've got horses and they do not heal nearly as well as people do.

Horses are all powerful until they step on a thorn and then they die, so that's believable
