Yeah, it's BARELY visible. Changing the pose can also help you see it better, weirdly enough. Makes it stand out more, somehow.

The most prominent patch with her pattern is the one on her back, just above her shoulders.

Hello people of WP! I was received a drawing tablet for Christmas, and I also got Firealpaca. I am still learning new things in the program, and I was curious to know if anyone could answer certain questions that will be listed below;

1) What is a good tip for shading? (I shade with the pen tool. I simply shade the colors in black then lower the opacity. I also want to know more ways and see which I like best!)

2) I wish to know ways to blend. I know there is the smudge tool and there is probably a brush setting. Just want to know!

More to be added later on...

Try multiply or overlay for shading to take into account the different colors your character has. Also, take notice of your own shadows. They're not always black. Play with different colored shading.

I'm going to use a friend's art for examples.

For this once, can you tell what color the shading is? Pink (or purple), to match the background.

Meanwhile, this one: https://bwerecat.deviantart.com/art/Feeding-Instructions-727091684
Might have some brown or dark grey shading that's been overlayed or multiplied to match the colors underneath.

Another way some people shade is to *erase* the areas of the body that are being highlighted instead of shaded, although I'm not as on-par with that tactic as other types of shading.

I use FireAlpaca too!

For the best shading tips I have, It'd be best to not use the color black, avoid it as much as possible.xD
When shading use multiply! You can change your layer settings under the navigator!(Under layer opacity) Multiply should be there!

For blending, I'd suggest using Airbrush, Blur, or Watercolor(better for scenery). I don't suggest using the blending style for your shading though, it could look a bit messy(unless that's your style) x3.

You could PM me for more tips! I'll also link a video to an awesome shading tutorial(I still use it lol).
