Freedom said: Golden Corax, what edition and what's the character? I love to hear about people's characters, though nobody in my family likes D&D and sadly I haven't seen my friends in ages. I guess that's partially why I'm glad this club exists. Wow. Now you have to play them - that would be tragically fun, I think. My DM let us reroll if we got anything lower than 9, but somehow I managed to roll below 10 for almost every attack and skill check I made anyway. I had so many nat 1s that I smashed my die and gave it a funeral - it didn't help, though. It could be fun to play a complete wimp and just try to keep them alive - though I guess the rest of the party might not appreciate it :)
e5, he's a tiefling, palidan, worlock. Oath of the crown, patron: the undying(might change his patron). I've only gotten to play dnd a few times and the times I did get to play were cut short so I have no idea how well this would work mechanically but I like the idea. I can empathize with ya there. None of parents really get the game either and all my friends aren't that intrested in any more. I'm glad I get to talk about dnd with some people :]

Wow, Canis, that sounds like a lot of fun :) The quest for Gary-Stueiness. It could also be tons of fun to play with getting the crystals and levelling up, since levelling up never makes any actual sense for the characters. I love making weird backstories for characters. I had one that I haven't gotten to play that was born and raised in a Bag of Holding. And that sounds like fun, Corax! I've never played any kind of magical class because I hate math and some of the spells are ridiculously complicated, and I've never played 5e because I think there are enough weird rules in 4e, but I think that would probably work. I mean, if your campaign is more character-driven it doesn't matter anyway. And yeah, it sucks not to be able to talk about it. Me and my best friend used to stay up for hours talking about D&D. Yep. If he ever manages to find all the crystals, though, there's still stuff he has to figure out. First, merging them all together so all the power is in one place. Then figure out a way to break said merged crystal, because at that point it would basically be what plot armor is made out of. THEN, when he was a way to break it, there has to be a way for him to SURVIVE suddenly getting all that power. Remember, Consitution of four. He's got like, three hitpoints, a first-level rouge could kill him with one stab if they didn't roll a one for damage. And, well, didn't have stats as bad as he does. But if he can figure all that out, he'll instantaneously be tossed to level 20 in every class that doesn't require literally being born as it. And even then, his Gary-Stueness knows no bounds, so maybe he'll just ascend to omnipotent godhood immediately. Then he's probably going to make his own universe with blackjack and hookers, I dunno. It's a fun character to play, but his party would have to be ultra beefy to keep him alive while he found the crystals. It could be this whole campaign, where this nobody gnome who would keel over dead if someone breathed on him wrong sets out a notice for a band of highly skilled advertures to protect him while he's searching. There's a ridiculously high pay, I'm talking like a thousand platnium coins or something like that, but not a single party has been accepted for the job yet. Until the players, that is. He does some magic bullshittery to learn their stats, breaking the fourth wall as he does so of course, and finds this group acceptable. Then adventures happen until everyone dies or they succeed.

Tabletop roleplaying game, where you use your brains and small pieces of plastic to dictate the fate of a false universe created by the uncaring whims of your Dungeon Master.

Oh wow a DnD forum! Thats so cool! I'm DMing 5e for 3 groups at the moment - we're doing in-person when it's possible and safe for everybody, but mostly online via Roll20. I don't really have much experience as a player, I love the worldbuilding. Has anybody some recommendations for some nice DnD-Streams to watch?

Well, I'm listening to Dungeons & Daddies (Not a BDSM Podcast) right now. It's pretty funny, about a group of dads from modern America get zapped into a D&D world and have to adventure off to save their sons.
