You’ll have to excuse Aleifr’s scruffy presentation – despite his best efforts he is rarely able to maintain a clean and tidy appearance. It’s not entirely his fault, but his mother often light-heartedly scolds him for it, all the same. There is, for starters, the fine coating of dust which tends to cling to his person despite his best attempts of getting it out; he and his mother work their tiny farm together, so it’s not like it's without a fair reason. And then there's his slightly mistrusting glare. That's hardly something to hold against him, all things considered... but it might go about catching new people off guard. Or straight up scaring them off.

Then again people giving him a bit of extra space isn't something he'll refuse.

It’s usually Alf’s hair which singles him out in a crowd, to his constant but barely supressed dismay. While the majority is raven-black and messy, what makes him so recognisable is the large tuft of snowy white that bursts from the charcoal-hair like a silvery flame. His hair is certainly what catches people's attention and (if you add on a few other things) as a result he has a complicated relationship with it. As a kid he loved matching with his papa, their unique white and black hair making it much easier to find eachother and making Alf feel so much closer to him too - until he left of course. And then later, when things began to get rocky, he tried his best to hide it - hide whatever connected him to his family outside Ederia. Finally though, he gave up trying to change it or style it alltogether. It's as messy and wild as he is, and that's what he prefers (although his mother has a few complaints.)

Asides from that Aleifr is pretty much a normal looking guy. He has a soft square jaw and a bit of a goofy smile, but you wouldn't be wrong if you went as far as to call him handsome. He has these enormous brown puppy-like eyes with work to only soften his expressions even when he is trying to put on his most intiminating face. It's sometimes like even he knows he's failing to, so he rarely bothers with trying anything like that. Besides if his words aren't intimating enough he might show off a fist or two. On the other hand he's not the best charmer, but when he has a gentle expression he can come across as highly sweet and it tends to make people chill out a little more around him. Or at least if they don't have any pre-formed ideas about him.

Aside from his toned physical fitness (farm labour will do that to you - it's also tanned his skin a warm fawny tone) Alf is about as fast as a whippet and twice as tough. He was picked on a lot as a kid, so he’s made a point of becoming either fast enough to make a break for it (most common back when he was little) or worst case senario protect himself if that’s not an option (unfortunately a far more common event). God forbid he fight back though, his mother would never let him hear the end of that - she's raised him better than to scrap foolishly with other children. (Alf tries to reason with her, but with time he's come to simply accept their stupid excuses for attacks. That's a good motivator for avoiding being caught anyway.)

Aleifr can appear a little bit disheveled if you catch sight of him from a distance. He and his mother work hard to take care of themselves well, but it's not always easy. And without the kindness of nieghbors to fall back on, he tends to fluctate in weight. He's doing alright now, able to reach a healthy height of 5'9'' and a good strength, especially building muscle from working in the feilds and whatnot every day. His hands are slightly scarred as he has a slight tendency to overwork himself... but it's him or his mother, and he'll never be happy relaxing while she's hard at work caring for them.

His clothes are the most worst off in honesty. While torn skin can heal, bruises fade with time and mud is wiped away, cloth is not as seamlessly fixed. At least not with his clumsy skills. Though his mother used to patch up his damaged clothing for him when he was younger, he has far reached a point where he is determined to take care of it himself. Or at the very least stop bothering his poor mother with trivial matters like this. As a result most of his clothing has rough edges and the knees and such are often torn or else patched with far too wonky stitches. If Dierdre disapproves, she’s far too tired to be outwardly doing so.

Personality:

He’d forgive you for judging him (as they always do, by his highly imperfect appearance) as a rather clumsy young man but that simply is not true. Well not quite anyway: Aleifr is certainly sure-footed – he is far too hypervigilant to be caught doing anything that could result in an embarrassing accident. But despite his careful nature he always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time... Maybe those nasty kids had a point about that whole 'curse' crap. As a result he's got more than a fair share of scrapes and breaks to his name, but fortunately bones get stronger after breaking right? Either way he's pretty tough inside and out, and refuses to let anyone get past his tough emotional defences. If they happen to find out any personal details about him and his life, that's because he wanted them to know.

Despite all he has endured however, he has remained light-hearted and unapologetically friendly... though not quite outgoing. His warm smile could – albiet in his mother’s heavily biased opinion – light up any room and has a way of diverting your attention to what he actually wants you to know of him. He hates the concept of being judged by his looks, or rumours, or by anything that isn't what he has chosen to share so when given the oppertunity he's quick to try and create a persona for himself. Unfortunately when that unravels (as it always does) he's left seemingly untrustworthy and untrusting, entirely unwilling to present his true self to new people. Not one to be hypocritical though, he tries to avoid judging others quickly too - especially if he's already heard something about them, knowing how harmful that sort of biased thinking can be.

As for intelligence: Aleifr isn't a born strategist but he's good at thinking outside the box. He has a scarily reckless nature, which helps him in undertaking any kind of creative plan he comes up with. He's also pretty much lost all sense of fear over the years so finds himself rushing headfirst into things, but is thankfully clinging onto some self-preservation - he doesn't mean to do anything stupid but sometimes, as his mother would say, "a teenage boy is a teenage boy." Sometimes he just likes to relax and be a little bit chaotic, see where things lead, that's all. As one might expect from a playful spirit such as himself, he is a bit of a jokester and tries to bring smiles to other people's faces if he can. Somestimes even if that means making a fool of himself on purpose.
