Appearance:
When the word “assassin” comes to mind, the first person you do not think of is Laceleaf. Unlike other individuals who also carry their role with pride and elegance, Laceleaf appears to be no more than just another average person on the street, another fleeting passerby who will make no mark in the memories of her foes - and she intends to keep it this way. She believes that her ability to effortlessly weave normality into her appearance is one of her most crucial weapons, especially considering that it doesn’t take much effort to dress normally at all.
Standing at an unimpressive 5’4, Laceleaf is neither lithe and agile, nor imposing and regal. Her eyes are not some deep, meaningful shade or particularly intriguing color, but rather a simple medium brown - or, in her words, “replicating that rich wood often used to make dinner tables”. Laceleaf has mastered what she calls the “internally dead” gaze, which is the look she gives others when she is simply exhausted and has no room for any more input of information without combusting, or when she is just mentally frozen and is incapable of processing much. Her eyes visibly light up whenever a topic she is interested in is brought up, and suddenly those “dinner table” irises will seemingly have gained a layer of polish while she spouts everything she knows about chemical equations and bird migration patterns.
Her hair is a “natural” black shade, which isn’t quite black, but just extremely dark brown. It is also disobediently messy to the point where she has kept it cut above her shoulders with no intention of growing it out - according to Laceleaf, her hair is messy as a result of the strands being too thick, which indicates that she is healthy, but it also makes washing her hair an absolute nightmare. Laceleaf has light, slightly tanned skin that is a result of her (concerningly) long afternoon walks, and what she calls “tattoos” are actually just little inked sketches that she draws on herself out of boredom - occasionally, those drawings are replaced with lengthy instructions on how to make a variety of drinks. She possesses small but capable hands, but rather than being the nimble type used to stealthily slip a knife into the heart of an enemy, she uses them for more “tame” activities, such as bartending, coffee-making, writing, and art.
Laceleaf’s fashion style is barely noteworthy - as long as the clothes are comfortable, convenient, and don’t look horrendous, she has little to no preference. Of course, this is because she neither enjoys engaging in formal events that would require more opulent garments, nor does she opt to wear clothing designed specifically for midnight heists with a million pockets that even she can’t locate. In her opinion, she’d much rather slowly plan out an assassination rather than get caught with weapons in her sleeves. Her typical outfit consists of black leggings or loose pants, a comfortable t-shirt, and a jacket, varying depending on the weather, which she finds to be rather convenient for everything, considering that she has low expectations for her fashion.
Personality:
Unlike many other assassins, Laceleaf actually dislikes bloodshed and despises her role as an assassin. She would much rather be a spy due to her more pacifist ideals, but her talents and her social anxiety simply did not fit the requirements for the peacekeeping role that spies fulfill - unable to interact with others smoothly, deceptively, and persuasively, she was forced to take the path of an assassin instead. In fact, her family even made her try customer service to improve her social interaction skills, and while her bartending and coffee-making skills did in fact increase greatly, she still disliked the idea of having to manipulate others constantly. Laceleaf also shifted her view on humanity after her last job, having seen the best and the worst of people. Interacting with all sorts of customers on a daily basis made her realize how much potential each person had, and while she did grow to detest people in general more, she also became a lot more reluctant at the idea of killing because she hates being forced to eradicate a life with so much individuality.
Laceleaf is noted for her “smart and lazy” method when it comes to assassinations, using uncanny methods to ensure that she has as little involvement as possible to avoid being tracked down while automating the process of killing her target. This works very well for her, since she has less guilt to cope with. She likes to ensure that her targets die in a way that looks like an accident and always tries to make it as quick as possible. If she must be physically present to carry out an assassination, she makes unnecessarily elaborate plans with far too many backup plans. She uses her odd toolbox of skills to plan and execute unique but effective assassinations, and one of her most successful missions involved disguising herself as a bartender and poisoning the drink before making the target appear to have died from other causes at the hands of another family. Laceleaf also purposely prioritizes other Jensora assassins before her to avoid going on missions, and tries - and fails - to fake incompetence by pulling out of assassination attempts.
“Quiet” isn’t the right word to describe Laceleaf; she’s just more introverted and socially anxious than others, since many of her interactions result in small talk, which she believes to be exhausting. She finds it very easy to become distracted or tired as a result of all her mental activity, and also suffers from sleep deprivation that she knows very well is her own fault (and makes no effort to fix it). She has few but valuable friends, whom she shares interests with, and likes to collaborate on visual art projects or create new devices and inventions together. She appreciates having plenty of time to herself, and while she does spend much of her day indoors, she is also known for her extremely lengthy “walks” that are always around three hours long. As a result, Laceleaf has impressive geographical skills and can easily create mental maps to help her navigate, as well as notice details in certain locations and situations that may aid her.
Laceleaf struggles with self-confidence, which stemmed from her fear of social situations and escalated to her fear of killing others while also fearing that her attempts to kill her targets would somehow fail. So, obviously, according to her, she does the next wisest thing and avoids social situations at all, not realizing that her problem isn’t how others think of her, but what she thinks of herself. She tries to maintain a “normal human life” while also being responsible for multiple deaths and fearing for the safety of her family in the savage war. In the past, Laceleaf cared greatly about her appearances while trying to balance her personal comfort, but later came to the realization that nobody cared. She has also be caught muttering or talking to herself before,
Laceleaf has a rather unique sense of humor, derived from her past experiences, mainly involving assassinations and customer service - “an odd combination, I know,” she says, when questioned about her inspiration for her humor. On one hand, she likes to utilize sarcasm in her speech; on the other hand, she also uses honesty as a basis for humor by directly stating facts in certain situations that others find to be comedically appealing. Occasionally, she mixes in dark humor, although she is somewhat careful about what she says.
In terms of combat, Laceleaf did receive training when she was younger, and she is very much capable of basic parkour and defensive strategies, but she does everything in her power to avoid physical confrontations - up to this point, she has rarely engaged in combat. She never carries weapons on her, fearing that it would give away too much about her intentions. Instead, she dedicates time to creating all sorts of devices, tools, and gadgets to support other assassins, and while they seem strange, the inventions always work in unexpected ways. Laceleaf heavily prefers being the background supporter of a mission rather than actually taking part herself, sometimes archiving information or offering shelter for other assassins.
Laceleaf was initially strongly against the idea of killing, and thought that the entire conflict between families (including her own) was horrendous and pointless. However, as she grew older, she traveled more and more and saw that the sacrifice of others, although cruel, was inevitable. She no longer speaks out against it, but still secretly holds pacifist ideologies and wishes that she could be a peacekeeping negotiator instead. She was caught up in the elaborate game of elites after they noticed how she was able to lead a pretty normal life despite being a member of the Jensora family, and they easily managed to convince her that she could use her seemingly mundane talents to eliminate those keeping the war going - little does she know, she was simply aiding the elite behind the entire war.

Special Skill:
Laceleaf’s skill is arguably her odd sense of creativity that allows her to use strange alternative methods in assassinations, as opposed to actually fighting her opponent face-to-face. Of course, she much prefers using this creativity for more “mundane” activities.
