Ability Name:
Mycokenesis, aka fungi manipulation
To put it simply, Mila can deal with all things fungi; her powers react to organic matter - with anything she touches being infused with mushrooms or other fungi. It may seem as if she can spread these wherever she wishes, leaving little fairy rings wherever her bare feet go. Some of her powers are a little more threatening, allowing her to inflict various effects of fungal spores apon a victim. However, with such a unique power comes a fair share of challenges.
Mila has a very weak control over exactly what she's doing when it comes to attacking using her abilities, particularly in regards to their intensity. Her powers were very instinctual when she was young, but as she suppressed them entirely, that control was lost and it altogether feels far more random now. She has hopes to somehow gain recontrol. Also these mushrooms she generates are as weak as their natural counterparts (but do sometimes have similarly powerful capabilities eg being poisonous) and therefore can be destroyed easily. She could, for example, try and grow a massive mushroom as a shield but it would be useless.
(Known) Sub-abilities:
Mycogeneration - Mila can grow any sort of mushroom or fungus as she wishes, provided the right enviroment is available. This is one of the few abilities she feels she has control over, knowing how to create various types of fungi purely from memory. Her creations of mushrooms when she walks barefoot is essentially passive - she has no control over whether it occurs or not, and can only prevent it by wearing clothing overtop her bare skin. She similarly wears gloves, to prevent certain accidents occuring. If she were to touch someone by accident there's no telling what she could inflict them with.
Fungus infestation: Through direct touch, she can inflict a number of changes upon her opponent. She can cause them to enter a hallucogenic status, be inflicted with toxins or even simply leech away their energy like some parasite. Worst of all though, is her ability to mimic the infamous cordyceps which allows her to take over the mind of her victim and bend it to her will. Although this is limted to more simplistic animal life, and something she tends to avoid messing around with. It is instinctual and subconcious, feeling to her like it's out of control. Additionally it takes a fair chunk of energy for each one of these, and even more so to gather and maintain a group of influenced animals under her powers.
Fungal digestion - Using her ability to create mushrooms on any organic matter, Mila can then touch the mushrooms created to gain energy from them, collected in turn from the organic and often decaying matter. Although it's gross, she can gather a lot of energy that way if needed - even not needing to eat when she has gathered enough. Although while she will have gathered enough energy to sustain herself, she still feels the chilling emptiness of an empty stomach if she has not eaten.
Mycogenesis healing - Touching her own bare skin at wound sites can allow her to slowly self-heal, but this can take a lot out of her, and can be incredibly difficult depending on her pain levels. This healing doesn't apply to anyone but herself and those long term effected by her infestation abilities - the latter of which will likely experience pain upon her touch.

Physical Description:
On first glance Mila can tend to look a little off-putting, despite her general overall attractiveness. She has this almost-but-not-quite-bitchy, but nonchalant look about her, as if she can't quite bring herself to care about anything or anyone. Plus her pale peach skin tone has an almost sickly look about it at times, which could appear worrisome to some. Her expressions aren't exclusively sour, but she still seems to maintain an unimpressed aura that might scare off anyone lacking in confidence. In a way she can appear a bit miserable, if not completely bored. Those are rarely something she’d admit feeling though, so using her intended visual signals as an indicator to her current state of mind is rarely effective.
The highlight of Mila’s well designed, oval face, is her stunning eyes. Shaded a stunning forest green on the outer edges, they are only elevated in beauty by the sun-speckle yellow that dapples all across the iris like fallen leaves. There is even smaller flecks of oak-brown, circling her pupil like a ring of thorns to produce pretty hazel eyes overall. As for the shape, Mila accentuates the challenging alluring gaze with long swooping smoky eyeliner. With her narrow, and slightly upturned almond eyes, she has a slight tendency to look unimpressed or as if she’s irritated even when this is not so – as a result her expression can be a bit of a challenge in itself to read. It seems Mila is somewhat unaware of this, as she tries her very best to communicate through one long stare past her long black eyelashes, which doesn’t often translate well to the person she’s got her gaze locked on. Her soft pink lips are always twisted into a passive, slightly pouting shape; at her natural neutral state, Mila’s mouth can appear either downturned or upturned but it honestly depends on the one looking at her. If she’s got a truly positive nor negative expression you’d be able to tell without any deliberation - she's got a proper glare that be extra intimidating when she wants to be. Her thick dark eyebrows are what you might describe as ‘expressive’, often found with one slightly raised higher as if to say “Uhm ‘scuse you?”
Mila’s hair is altogether far more indicative of her mood than her face altogether. A wavy dark brown - like a shade of hickory – she rarely will repeat the same hairstyle from one day to another. Despite only reaching shoulder length at the back, she manages to get a couple dozen styles out of it. Plus she has a section at the front that functions well as bangs or can be left flopping slightly towards one eye. She doesn’t bother wasting her time on planning out different hairstyles however, simply ties down a section with a ribbon and calls it a day – which actually gives her a quite attractive effortless beauty. Though the waves of her hair is prominent enough to add some volume and thickness to her hair, Mila thankfully doesn't struggle with keeping her hair neat beyond basic maintenance. The style, albeit unplanned, actually can provide quite the insight to her mind for the day. If she’s got it all pinned up, then today is a day for her to get to business, whether she’s aware of that fact or not. When she’s letting it down to do its own thing however, she is up for a bit more relaxation and freedom, instead going with wherever the flow takes her. It’s interesting to note that these spontaneous actions are truly subconscious, and she hasn’t made a link between her morning hairstyling routine and her plans for the day – even if others have noticed it and can plan to join or avoid her accordingly.
In terms of her physical stature, Mila is not the tallest around (about 5’7") with most of her energy going into her lithe muscles and strong shoulders. She’s someone who likes to keep active, even if it is something as simplistic as daily jogs around her local area or going rock climbing, which keeps her toned body in shape. She seems as if strength is a strong suit: much easier for her to accomplish than top speeds as she really values stamina over a quick pace. Similarly, while she is decently agile, she would much rather squeeze herself into small areas with some impressive flexibility than go running off to escape some threat. Besides, if she were to be chased by something, she’d much prefer knowing what it was with her facing it from afar – instead of simply running off like she used to when she was a kid... Having worked on her strength more and more, she has also garnered some deceptively strong legs, giving her calves a discreetly powerful size and allowing her to deliver some clumsy but aggressive kicks if need be. And she sure as hell isn’t holding back if it ever reaches that point, so expect some bruises if you get on the wrong wrong side of Mila Monova.
When she’s relaxed, Mila can more often than not be found perched up on some counter or bar with her arms crossed as she leans back on a wall, her gaze scanning everyone below. That’s not to say she looks down on anyone; despite her slighty unapproachable aura, she is very down to earth and will adjust her body language to be more welcoming... which is usually simply dropping the rigid arms and waving out some beverage in the direction of a newcomer. But whatever works, works. She possesses this disarming confidence about her, which can be found in the way she walks: with purpose and a clear sence of direction. Mila essentially never looks ‘lost’, always going from a to b – she can be more flexible and switch paths, but it’s done in such an effortless way that it might be impossible to spot when she does change her mind and her way. Her voice is a deep and smooth tone, never really fluctuating in volume besides the rare outburst of anger or lapse in judgement. Mila seems to be well put together, but at times her patience can wear thin and her voice can become overly snappish. She might also find herself drawling out insults when someone hasn’t understood she’s bored of them, her aggression turning ridiculously and overbearingly passive.
Though she isn't going to win best dressed any time soon, Mila does have some sense of style about herself. She gravitates to more earthy colours: yellows, browns, greens, greys which might wash out her pale skintone, but she doesn't care. She also has a liking for silver jewelry, so often wears hoop earrings and necklaces - though keeps her ornaments simplistic because she doesn't like the feeling of too many piled up. Mila can also - unsuprisingly - be found with specks of earth clinging to her clothes anyway, when she has been out gardening; spending time outside with flora and fawna helps her meditate well in a way nothing else can quite achieve. She's aqquired a pleasant earthy scent from this too, but it's not that noticable unless you're up super close. Always wearing thick boots, she can add an inch or two to her height and an even more intimidating stride to her walk - all slightly spoiled by the thin layer of earthy residue on them and the markings of wear and tear. She does keep clean for the most part though, in neat turtlenecks and blazers; she mostly keeps her skin fully covered, right up to her neck and to her feet. There are also the gloves: thick and leathery-like (but not quite leather) that remain on her hands at almost all times. If you catch her in the right mood - tinkering with some personal idea, you might find her with her sleeves rolled up and a determined look of concentration upon her face. Notibly, the gloves still remain on.

Crush: None (yet)
Friends: (Open! Possibly someone she's known from before?)
Family:
She estranged from her parents. She has several siblings though, who she misses. They're doing fine as far as she can tell.
History:
Mila had a pretty normal childhood, doing all the normal toddler and then preteen things of exploring the woods behind her house and playing with the bugs and ants in her back garden. What wasn’t so normal was exactly how she played in those many hours she spent alone while her older siblings were off at school. In the forest, she found that if she concentrated in just the right way mushrooms could grow with every barefooted step, and soon she was coating the leafy floor with strange fungi of various types. It was strange how quickly this new skill came to her - like some kind of otherworldly instinct. What happened with the ants she studied was far more sinister however.
One time, loosing her childish temper at two warring ant colonies, she ever so gently poked a brutish ant which was inciting some unneccesary warfare. Fungi quickly bloomed all across the creature and Mila, having no understanding of what it was, thought nothing of it - leaving soon after to return home. That was until the awoke the next morning with strange mushroom infused ants in her bedroom. Apparently her touch had infected the creatures in some way, and now they seemed - strangely - to want to follow her. To treat her like their queen. To follow her every command. Her only option was to exterminate them, since she knew her mother would scream and loose her mind at the sight of the tiny creatures in the house. Since then, in extreme cautiousness, she has refused all touch, and wears a pair of gloves almost constantly. A few years later her parents somehow found issue with this and ended up berating her until she finally admitted something strange had been occuring to her since she was at least five.
It's safe to say things would have been better if they had never found out. Mila hasn't been home for a good couple years now - if she can even still call that place 'home', and isn't planning to go back any time soon. Up until she recieved the letter, she had been happily(ish) self sustaining herself and doing lots of mainly gardening jobs and such to get by. Things have been okay. Not the best, but she gladly makes do with what she's got. There are worse alternatives.
