Name: Vernon
Nickname(s): Ver, Vern
Herd/ Band:
Ghoda Herd
Rank: Yearling
Age: 2 years & 1 month
Sex: Male
Relation to Late LS: Grandson
Voice: His voice is rather high pitched and a tad rough. It drops an octave lower at random, making his voice a bit more silky. Vernon’s tone is almost always energetic and upbeat. Rarely does one ever hear anything negative in his voice.
Appearance:
Vernon is a little big for his age, standing at 15.3 hands and still growing. However, it is unlikely that he will ever be above 16.7 hands. He has a lean and stocky build with a large chest built to sustain his stamina pool. The muscles in her legs are well defined thanks to the amount of running he does. Besides in his chest and legs, not much muscle is seen.
The young anglo-arabian has a wild amber-champagne coat. He has medium white socks on each leg, a patch of white on his neck, and another patch of white on his back right thigh. His mane is also white in the areas of white fur. If his mane is not touching white fur, then it is a chocolate brown color. Vern has a small, but noticeable scar on the bottom of his front left leg, which he got from tripping over a rather sharp stone at a young age. Another scar slashes across his snout from right to left (going down). It is rather long, starting at the top of his eye and ending at the bottom of his cheek.
The yearling’s eyes are an extremely rare and beautiful shade of green that starkly contrasts his pelt’s color. They often shimmer with life and energy, and rarely ever dull.
Personality:
Bold || Energetic || Adventurous || Pushy || Competitive || Troublemaker || A mix of selfish and selfless || Honest || Kind
Vernon is a very bold and energetic young stallion. He fears very little and will do very dangerous stunts just for fun. With his seemingly boundless energy, such actions are taken on a regular basis - much to the disdain of the mares.
This youngster’s energy often leads him to go on “grand” adventures that often stray very far from the herd. In the past, the young stallion has crossed raging rivers, climbed dangerous slopes, and even entered a cougar’s den. It’s a miracle that he has sustained so little injuries. Wonder how long that will last.
The champagne yearling can be rather pushy, especially when he wishes to explore. He will run up to any young colt or yearling - always above the age of six months - and encourage them to explore with him. If they deny his request, he will taunt them or start a competition to get them going. Rarely does he take no for an answer.
Vern’s competitive and pushy nature often causes trouble for the herd's members, especially the younger foals and mares. As mentioned, this youngster likes to get other young horses to follow him on his adventures. However, most have trouble keeping pace with the energetic male, either ending up lost or gaining an injury.
Vernon can be rather selfish when it comes to his desires. He will give little regard to the wants or even needs of the horse he is interacting with if it means they will do what he pleases. However, the young stallion can still be quite selfless. He will put himself in harm's way if it means he can protect another. This is especially true if he was the one to cause the danger.
The yearling is incredibly honest. He always owns up to his mistakes, and does not allow others to take the punishment for him. Never has he lied, nor does he plan to ever start.
Despite his flaws, Vernon is actually quite kind. He enjoys spending time with the young foals, playing games and exploring with them. If they ever need any help, this youngster is quick to offer aid - though he does not do the same for the mothers.
Strengths:
-Vernon is known to have a lot of stamina, and can outpace most of the other herb members.
- Vernon is quite loyal to his friends, never leaving them behind and always supporting them.
- Vernon has no trouble standing up for himself and others. He would even stand up to the lead stallion, despite fearing his power.
Weaknesses:
- Vernon is pretty average when it comes to strength and agility. He can easily be outmatched in both categories. However, he has enough of both to get by.
- While not dumb, Vern is no where near the sharpest tool in the shed.
- Vernon’s ability to cause mayhem often gets him in trouble. However, he has yet to have gotten in trouble with the lead stallion.
Likes:
-Messing with the younger foals
-Causing trouble
-Running Around
-Racing
Dislikes:
-Getting in trouble
-Others being hurt because of his actions
-Thinking about the future
Reputation:
Vernon is known to be rather unruly and “annoying” to the other herd members. He often causes trouble for the mares of the herd, but never will he do so around the lead stallion. Most mares keep their foals away from him as they worry he would encourage them to do something reckless.

Anglis - His father and the current lead stallion. Vernon fears the stallion more than he respects him - mainly because of the power he holds. He will do everything in his power to steer clear of his father.
Sacath- His grandfather and the former lead stallion. Vernon never met his grandfather, but he has heard many things about him. He has no true opinion on his grandfather, other than knowing that he would have been someone to avoid as well.
Backstory:
Vernon was born to a herd mare in one of the more profitable times. Due to such circumstances, he grew up with little worry for his well being, or the well being of others. His mother gave him more free range than most, and neglected training him on how to obey the adult (besides the lead stallion). As soon as he was weaned - and some time before that - he would sneak away from the herd and have his own little adventure. His most famous adventure happened when he just turned two. Him and a colt - around the age of 13 months - broke off from the herd to explore the area. They managed to find a cougars den, and woke the beast during the exploration. They fled quickly, but the colt tripped and fell. Vern heard him and quickly turned to defend him from the cougar by leading it away. After a bit of running, he arrived near the herd and turned to face the cougar which resulted in the slash across his face. Thankfully, the herd heard all the commotion and came to the rescue. Now, the whole herd keeps an eye on this youngster, and most mares refuse to let him near their foals in fear that he would do something reckless again.
Other:
- Vernon fears the day that he must leave the herd. He does not wish to be left alone.
