• Lack of experience ( Lark is young and was a very well cared for companion, so she hasn't quite experienced the harsh reality of the island to the extent that most dogs have )
• unfamiliar with the island ( Due to the amount of disease and bite risk that comes with living on an island so highly populated with K-9's Lark's handler would rent out large properties to work with her and stick to the nicer neighborhoods in order to ensure her safety, though when he's away she has little knowledge of the area outside of where she's been permitted to explore. )
• Stubborn ( She's a husky mix, need i say more? )
• Can have trouble focusing

Personality: Lark's collar is very intentionally misleading, you could say she's a little too eager to engage with others and the world around her so the label was meant to deter others from interacting with her and drawing her attention as she's quite easily distracted. Despite her being a mutt she's quite an intelligent and high drive dog, however she's often a little too hyperactive and occasionally lets her curiosity get the better of her. Lark's very enthusiastic about the world around her and this posed an issue for awhile but she's since had alot of structure implemented into her life and can manage her emotions fairly well. Due to her genetics she's prone to behavioural issues so she's a little rough around the edges in some aspects but the work her handler has put into her has paid off by a long shot.

Lark is also yet to experience the humans disappearance so this event + how the next 4-6 months will likely have a large impact on such a young and impressionable dog.

Roleplay Example: ( Taken from an offsite RP )

Arizona stepped into an alley near the outskirts of the city, ducking through a small tear in the chain link fence separating the alleyway from the city streets. Whilst she didn't have the physical advantage over a couple of the larger males in the area she had no trouble outsmarting them and had found a successful route through the city that was generally pretty quiet, or at least thus far. she'd been using the route for the past couple weeks now whenever she needed to make a run into the city, but she knew better than to let her guard down especially in the streets. It was fairly chaotic per usual but it seemed a lot more so now. She perked her bears forward slightly, slowing in her tracks and coming to a halt as she scanned the area. It was clear something was going on however this was, in her case, an advantage. Whatever the cause of the rampage going on outside was proving to be useful in getting herself across the city undetected which was a proving to be a major convenience. As Ari progressed the noises a block over grew louder and she knew she was nearing the disturbance which made her slightly uneasy. She continued to travel along the sides of an old building building, sticking in the shadows and moving swiftly as she drew closer, hoping whatever conflict was nearby was taking place on the open road and not within her route.

Quart looks like a white Japanese Akita but more mutt-like. Partially folded over left ear, small and nicked up erect right ear. More thickly-furred and partially curled or unfurled tail. (Straight out when standing, slightly curled when walking / trotting.)
He's about 68-72 pounds depending on how much food there is to go around. He's prone to becoming emactiated and 65 pounds or less. gross + kinda mangy looking

Strengths/Weaknesses Description::

<3 fast:: Quart is fast on his feet and good at getting into things and places where dogs really shouldn't be. He can hold his own in a fight one on one, but his best bet is usually to run.

<3 diplomatic:: he has a way out of getting his ass handed to him.

<3 perceptive:: empathetic and knowing his way around words, he bonds with fellow dogs easy and evades lonliness this way.

</3 weak:: Quarter is almost forced to be diplomatic and keen on the body language of other dogs because, if not, he'd almost certainly have died by now. Quarter lacks the physical ability to back up any threat he might make and so chooses to be a peacemaker, despite being a somewhat decent size.

</3 passive:: Quart often lets things get taken away or slip past him, solely because of how passive he is. He often sympathetically rules that another canine may need what they took from him more than him or refuse to take action against those that hurt him. For that reason, he quickly opts into positions of being beaten up or the underdog. Going hungry or being beat up is common for Quart.

Personality:: Calm, sweet, and friendly. No Quarter, often just called Quart, is allllll too aware of life's ability and willingness to humble the brash and vicious. Quart finds no reason to be aggressive to get his way. Hell, he'll scrap with anyone over a piece of meat but there's something exciting to him about the edge of hunger. Though, if he could trust humans to consistently care for him, he'd give anything to be in a home.

Background/History (Optional):: Once a pet, now he's not. He's not keen to talk about it... but seems more fond of humans than most dogs and will only be forwardly aggressive towards canines threatening humans. Though, they do act more muted, sullen, and to the point around humans as well.

Roleplay Example:: Sniff. Sniff. Sniiiiff. Oh, good shit. There was ... ramen? in this trashcan by the smells of it.

Clambering his way to the top of the large dumpster, he tried his weight against the lid. It didn't give and so more weight was applied into his front paws, toes spreading with the burden of more of his bodyweight shifted forward.

Crash!

He tumbled into the trashcan. Unphased, Quart shook off their coat, ears whacking the side of his skull. The dog paused; if human restuarant workers had heard him, this could go south. Time to find the ramen, Quart thought, with short, stiff, and hungry wags.
