Markos’s family is from Greece, and he looks distinctly Greek. He has dark olive-tan skin, oily and somewhat rough. His face is oval-shaped, and he has a soft jawline. He has a large, rounded nose, flat on the front and slightly downturned. His lips are somewhat large, and he has particularly yellowed teeth, one of which has a silver cap on it. They are very obviously not healthy teeth. His eyes are narrow and slightly downturned, and are light blue-grey, like a newly-forming storm cloud. His eyebrows are thick and dark brown, set low over his eyes. His hair is dark brown, and rather short. It’s slightly wavy, and so oily that in certain lights it seems to be slightly damp. It sticks out from his head slightly in stray clumps. He has light stubble in dark brown. Overall, his face has a slightly rounded, droopy sort of look, and the pale blue of his eyes makes him look forever spaced out.

Markos is in good shape, though he’s neither toned nor lean. He has some muscles, but he’s not as ripped as some of the more dedicated officers. Maybe he would be in a little better shape if he weren’t downing sodas all the time. He has broad shoulders and long arms and legs, and stands at 5’10”. Though he has no real tattoos, sometimes he gets one of those little removable tattoos.

Markos, while on duty, is found in his officer’s uniform. Sometimes he cheats and loosens part of it or unbuttons the top button of his shirt to make himself a little more comfortable. When Markos isn’t in uniform, he typically wears something both comfortable and outdoorsy. He’s fond of fairly tight yet breathable T-shirts, many of which have brand names or children’s characters on them. He likes to wear track or yoga pants, and is usually wearing some sort of sneakers. Sometimes a light sporting jacket will keep him warm. He likes all kinds of bright colors, though at the very least he makes an effort to coordinate colors so he doesn’t look like a rainbow puked on him. His ears are pierced, and he sometimes wears studs, sometimes larger hoop earrings, sometimes no earrings at all. He has a few piercings here and there: his nose, his eyebrow, his belly button.

Personality

Mark can often be found smiling, with a mild and quietly amiable tone. He has a softness to him that hardly befits a cop. He tries to keep everything and everyone around him content and light hearted, and he’s always ready to try and ease any tension that might spring up. When anyone tries to steer the conversation to something heavier, he smoothly moves it back to less dangerous territory. He doesn’t want to talk about personal problems or feelings, though he sometimes finds people venting to him, and he’ll always listen and encourage them. Some people really do have a lot to complain about. Some, however, absolutely don’t, and typically Mark will counter any meaningless gripes with a positive comeback. He thinks this constant good attitude is genuinely helpful, and he can’t see the point of whining about anything. The idea of talking through feelings to make someone feel better doesn’t seem to have occurred to him. And don’t even get him started on philosophy. He doesn’t want to contemplate things like the meaning of life or the vastness of the universe.

Mark is a family-oriented person, and he has a soft spot for kids. Well, who doesn’t? It’s almost concerning to him when he meets people who claim to dislike children. In fact, Mark is rather childlike himself. He has a certain love for the sorts of things most grownups lose interest in. Things like hopscotch, yoyos, splashing in puddles, and blanket forts. Mark is a very romantic person, and every time he gets a crush, it’s like it’s the first time. Most people grow older and more mature, and start to see love and romance from a deeper and more practical perspective. Mark never seems to have grown out of his high school romance phase. He’s painfully obvious about it when he likes someone, and he’s pretty quick to ask them out. The problem is that the high wears off pretty quickly, and every time he feels like an idiot for having been so head-over-heels. He has a lot more trouble breaking up with people than asking them out, so he winds up in long relationships he doesn’t necessarily want.

Mark would not be considered by anyone to be the best officer on the force. It’s not that he’s not good at what he does. It’s just that Mark is known to let his emotions drive him, and when a cop does that things can turn messy very quickly. Mark became a cop because he wanted to help people, and he’s so easily swayed by anyone asking for help. He goes out of his way to help little old ladies cross the street and direct lost tourists. More than the law, he values the people. Which sounds, in theory, like a very good thing. But when a cop starts making exceptions for people, that’s something like playing god. Mark simply doesn’t have the authority to give people the sort of leeway he does. For now, at least, he hasn’t gone far enough to lose his job, though he has been yelled at pretty thoroughly a couple of times. He has the backing of the community, which is partially why he still has his job. And some of the other cops resent him for that - he seems to be able to get away with more than anyone else. Hardly how such a vital function of government should operate. Mark tries to make connections with everyone in his life, and engages everyone in conversation. He’s certainly not shy. Though he can’t always understand someone’s point of view, he can smile and nod and act like he does. He’s quick to sympathize, but this also makes him an easy target for manipulation and appeals to pity.

Mark has dealt with his fair share of rough situations. This is a rough place to live, after all. When the chips are down, Mark tends to prove himself. He’s no great shot, nor is he a fantastic fighter, but he’s not stupid enough to try and make peace in a life-threatening situation. His colleagues need to be able to trust him, and he simply can’t afford to consider greater morals at a time like that. He’s quick-thinking, that can certainly be said for him. Though Mark can strategize well if given the time and opportunity, he often prefers to jump into a situation and deal with the outcome in the moment. When Mark wants to do something, he just does it. Not to the point of harming anyone. But he doesn’t have time in his life to keep second-guessing himself. He can keep his cool in all kinds of awful situations, and he’s not easily shaken by violence or threats, though gore doesn’t sit well with him. He prefers to deal with situations by diffusing them, if possible, and speaking with all parties to keep the whole thing from blowing up. If he can talk people down he will, and he’s often steady and reasonable enough to at least delay the inevitable conflict. Mark also takes orders well, and isn’t the type of person to argue with his superiors. If he disagrees with their orders, or if they don’t sit quite right with him, he suppresses the urge to disagree.

The suburbs are where Mark grew up: in a boring white-picket place where anything awful that happened was hidden under a facade of unbelievable dullness. He was glad to be rid of that place, to be able to travel and do something real with his life.

Mark avoids sick people like the plague. He doesn’t take any risks, and the last thing he wants is to get sick. Seeing others severely ill gives him the creeps.

There’s really no point in complaining about mundane things like the weather or price of gas. Mark doesn’t complain, and he’s quick to counter people who do.

Though Mark, as a cop, can stomach more than the average person, he often finds gore disturbing.

The last thing Mark needs to think about is the why and how of the universe. These questions are just too big and unanswerable, and they make him feel dwarfed by the timeless cosmos. Not a good feeling.

Ghazi is a good officer, and Mark respects his authority. Ghazi seems to have gone out of his way to take over a lot of Mark's training, and while Mark will always claim he appreciates the attention, he does have trouble wih it sometimes. The sheriff is Mark's boss, and even though he's quite friendly with her, he knows where he stands. She gives orders, he takes them. Sometimes he can frustrate her with his method of picking and choosing which laws he wants to enforce. But he still respects her, and hopefully she repects him. At least a little.

Lei stands rather tall at 5’ 11”, though she tends to seem 6’0” or even 6’1” due to the pride she allows herself to walk with nowadays. Her skin tone is an ashen color with warm undertones like a flame, something that adds to her overall vibe of fire and ash which she fully accepted after the fire. When it comes to freckles, Lei has none except for some sprinkled here and there, and they’re mostly hidden due to her ashen skin.

Lei has a rectangular face shape, meaning her face has the same kind of jawline as a square face shape but her face is longer than a square. Now for the nose, she has a slightly bunched nose, though it certainly fits her features quite well. Her lips are upturned in shape, but relatively average when it comes to fullness if not a little fuller. Her most commonly seen expressions are smirks and flirty grins. It’s rare to see her without some kind of smile.

Her eyebrows are a bit thin in thickness, and with a pointed, though casual, arch. Finally, her eyes are a deepset hooded shape, and are a gray color, though it tends towards soot black or lighter grays depending on lighting and mood. There’s light eye bags underneath them hinting at her self-induced insomnia, but they’re easy to ignore with her eyes. Her bottom lashes are thick, though her top ones are average.

Her face is framed by hair that’s the color of wood burnt to a crisp, or of smoke in the night sky- Completely and utterly black. It’s poofy and wavy too, though to be honest it doesn’t really frame her face. The back gets to the nape of her neck, with one half shaved down quite a bit while the other poofs and waves with bangs. Luckily, the bangs really only fall over to the side of one of her eyes. So she can still see quite well, or as well as she can.

Her body structure could quickly be described as an hourglass, with curves easily adding onto her form, everything about her structure screams that she’s more so built for muscle than agility despite that. Though, she certainly is agile enough to move quickly on her feet if she sees a need to do so. She weighs a good 155, with her BMI at a perfectly healthy 21.62.

When it comes to scars, Lei has a few. One at her right eye, that goes from her forehead, through the eyebrow, down the eye, and stops in the middle of her cheek. This is the only one that has any real effect on her, and the only one she has any regrets over. Due to this one, she is partially blind- She luckily hadn’t lost all of her sight in that eye. She also of course has some scars from the fire. Her hands and halfway up her forearms both have some severe burn and cut scarring which she got from digging people out of the fire, and digging out corpses. Other than those though, she also has some random scars here and there from fights she’s gotten into over the years. Mostly her arms, if we’re being honest.

Personality:

To put it simply, Lei is a mess. A total mess. But not in the way you’re probably thinking, as if she’s some sad little girl that needs protecting. In fact- It’s just the opposite. You probably need protection from her. The humbled, selfless little girl from the orphanage is most certainly gone.

She’s what most people think they want to be. Strong and confident. It’s her way or the highway. She’s stubborn, determined- You really think you can beat her? Fine, duke it out with her, see if you still think that. She’ll beat you to a pulp without a second thought.

She values strength, a lot. All forms of strength. Mental, physical, spiritual, emotional- Any and all strength is valued by Lei. That being said, if someone at a disadvantage tried to fight her, she’ll find a way to make it even. She doesn’t fight those weaker than her without doing so, after all- What’s the point of winning if it was obviously going to happen anyways? Give her a challenge or get lost! Don’t get her wrong, if after she makes it even you show weakness? She’s going after it quicker than you could blink.

This being said, she actively searches for challenges. She’ll actively egg people on that she thinks would be an interesting match. And to her, anyone that refuses to fight her- They’re scared, embarrassed, disrespectful, and without dignity. Those who do not even try to prove themselves do not have pride in themselves.

She has absolutely no impulse control. For some reason, she can’t see that her actions may have consequences. She doesn’t see why she should fear anything. She doesn’t see how anything could possibly happen to her. Lei, in her own opinion, is unbeatable. Unstoppable. A force to be reckoned with. And anyone in her way will pay the price.

Despite her ambitions and impatience- She’s easy to distract and prone to boredom. She wants to run free, not be cooped up. She also wants to be in charge of everything everyone’s doing. She also wants to cook. She wants to start a garden. She wants to start a fight. Lei doesn’t like waiting, she also doesn’t like being told what to do. She’ll do whatever she wants, thank you very much! But if you push her attention towards something else, even slightly, she’ll probably end up getting distracted.

More on that ‘prone to boredom’ though, since just that isn’t doing it justice. Truth is, Lei can be heavily apathetic, insensitive, and irritable. Feeling is hard for her, understanding her feelings is even harder. She’s more likely to pick a fight with a stranger to deal with things than to try and talk it through with who she’s actually mad at. When she isn’t busy beating people up or insulting people or doing something, really, then she’ll either drift in and out of missed sleep for hours. Or, she’ll be unable to rest in any way and end up looking for something to do. Regardless of how dangerous, illegal, or reckless it is.

When it comes to people, Lei is definitely extroverted. She’ll talk to people easily, and if she thinks you to be a striking woman- She’ll flirt. And she’ll flirt until you tell her to stop, multiple times. She doesn’t really understand boundaries too much. She’s a hug person, she’s a no personal space person, she’s a shoplifting person because ‘why should I have to pay anyways?’. But she’ll still respect people if they tell her something, though you’ll have to tell her a few times as she is prone to forgetting at times.

She’s really fun to be around though. She’ll liven up a room with her attitude of always doing something. It’s basically a party with her around. She doesn’t care for rules, so she can easily plan to do things that others wouldn’t normally plan without much fear or regret from knowing she’s breaking a rule. Sure, she knows what she’s doing, but her brain won’t make the connection between punishments.

Back to positives- If you become her friend, even just a surface level one, she will protect you until her last breath. It doesn’t matter to her how long she’s known you, if you’re in trouble or in danger- She’ll find a way to help. She’ll find a way to protect you. And she’ll do it all without realizing the consequences, without fear, without a second thought. Because when she cares, she cares with everything she’s got. She never puts in less than 110%. Not once.

Even with all of her negatives, she’s still a very silver-tongued lady. She knows how to get what she wants. She knows how to twist her words into threats, into pretty promises, into grand speeches- She just tends to use that as a trump card. She doesn’t give her words out to just anyone, and she actually tries to come off as someone who can’t use words in such a manner. The surprise always works in her favor, and she uses that to her advantage every time.

Irina is quite a beautiful sight to lay your eyes on. It's such a shame that she's a vicious person. The woman's aura is negative right off the bat. When one is near, they can just feel that she is up to no good. She has the vibes of a murderer. Her expressions are almost snarky with a little bit of mischief. She walks around with a half smile, as if she's just committed the most heinous crime. Maybe she did. She walks with a cautious demeanor, almost like she's alert and prepared for anything to happen. Despite Irina's bold and ruthless personality, you would think she would be at least tall. But she's not. Irina stands at a height of 5'6" and weighs approximately 130 pounds. However, her height and build has helped her with her stealth and flexibility. She has a slim figure with a small curve at the hips. Her arms and legs are rather lanky with slight muscles. Irina has a soft look to her, mainly in her eyes, that tends to throw people off, unaware of her actions next. Her expressions are quite monotone and apathetic, making it hard for others to read her.

Her skin is an olive pale with scars all over, however only one is visible. She has a nasty scar starting at the middle of her cheek and ending at her chin. She had gained this specific scar in a battle. No surprise. Irina has a thin face shape with an impeccably sharp jawline. Her nose is fairly small and has a slight upcurve to it. As for Irina's eyes, they are usually what people notice first. Whether they are staring in admiration or confusion. Irina was born with heterochromia, which is when your eyes are different colors. Her left eye is colored a piercing blue resembling the ocean. While her right eye is more of a chocolate brown. Some people tend to get lost in her eyes, as they are quite beautiful. Her eyes are typically described as "siren eyes." Irina has thin yet slightly arched eyebrows that are colored a deep black, which matches most of her hair. She possesses long hair reaching around the middle of her back and is very wavy. Her hair color starts as a black and slowly transformed into an ombré leading to a pale red. The same pattern is included upon her bangs that cover a good portion of her forehead.

Personality:

Irina can be known for her obsessive behaviors. Especially in relationships. When she grows fond of someone, she wants them to herself and nobody else. And if she can't have them, she will do anything in her power to sabotage any of the said person's next relationship. Irina can grow to be quite stalkerish. Although, she's slowly growing out of that. She believes that what she is doing is considered "love." As Irina was never truly loved properly, she doesn't know how to love someone in a healthy way. Irina is quite...psychotic, to put it in simple terms. It is believed that her mental disorders play a part in it, but some believe that she chooses to be this way. It is still a mystery to this day. It is very well known that Irina didn't have the best life growing up. She grew up around tons of violence, so that's all she knows. She can sometimes be quite aggressive, even without meaning it. Well, she says she doesn't mean it. Usually, Irina is emotionally and mentally aggressive, in very rare cases does she get physical when in a disagreement. But nobody can put that past her. The woman is known to be quite a sarcastic asshole. Nobody can ever tell when she is serious or not because she is always making smart remarks and having a sarcastic tone to her voice.

Flirting is one of Irina's many skills. She knows exactly what to say and how in order to gain someone's attraction. More often than not, she is simply doing it for fun. Her way of flirting can be very touchy and great amounts of eye contact. Aside from her sarcastic tone, she usually has a condescending tone. Irina truly does not care how anyone feels and will fake it that she does. And her tone says it all. Irina is manipulative. She has a way with words that allows her to obtain what she wants. She is able to put on a fake face that will eventually make others feel bad for her. Little do they know it's all apart of her game. More than 80% of the words that leave Irina's mouth are blatant lies. She has always been skilled in telling others some bullshit story to save her own ass. Or she will just tell you what you want to hear, while she has completely different motives. Irina is often impulsive. She acts without thinking and it usually ends up with her in an unavoidable situation that she has to get herself out of. Most of her impulsive decisions come from rage and impatience. To no surprise, Irina is a violent woman. She doesn't take shit from anybody and is not afraid to go ape shit on you.

It is no doubt that Irina is a deceiving woman. She will make you think she is an innocent being, but she is far from that. Irina will attempt to gaslight your and twist your mind to think differently about her until it's too late. As much as Irina has gone through, she can say that it made her quite fearless. Irina is willing to sacrifice herself for those she cares for, which is not a lot, with no hesitation. She laughs in the face of danger, because she knows that she is the danger. When Irina finds something she wants, she can be quite pestering about it. Irina is no quitter and doesn't plan on being one any time soon. Quitting is for scared losers. More often than not, Irina is known to be an apathetic woman. She has no care for others' feelings regarding her words or actions. Suck it up. As she would say. However, due to this, Irina has always had a problem expressing or caring for her own feelings. Irina is a very humorous woman. She loves to make jokes. Although, she tends to make jokes during serious times. She often gains stares because of this. One thing that has helped Irina, is her being so observant. She doesn't talk much, but instead she listens. She is often able to gain the intel she wants because of her eavesdropping skills. She can typically also tell someone's aura by how they present themselves in front of her.

The woman is an instigator, no doubt. She gets a rise out of seeing others fight. She finds it quite amusing and humorous. Irina will often try to pin two people against each other to get the heat and attention off of her. It is no surprise that she is a fighter as well. Irina enjoys the thrill and adrenaline of fighting. She does not care who she fights with, man or woman. She's gained plenty of combat skills due to her long lasting experience in fighting. Irina can come off as slightly rebellious. She has a mind of her own and if she feels that she is being told to do something stupid, she simply won't do it. Sure, she might face consequences later but she is no kiss ass. An additional trait to her being obsessive is also her being very protective. Irina is aware that she has the capability to protect someone close and she uses that to her advantage. She couldn't live with herself if she let something terrible happen to a loved one. Irina is known to be controlling. The feeling of power is what fuels her. Along with this, is she is toxic. She doesn't know how to sustain a healthy relationship and because of this, she has developed toxic behaviors that she is clueless on how to get rid of. Overall, Irina is a cold person. She doesn't plan on changing any time soon. And it's how she survives.
