Neo is not a particularly impressive person in appearance, rather he's more on the average side, although he is not awful to look at. He has grown to a decent height of 5'10" by this age, and this will be the height he remains at throughout his life; he may be a little on the shorter side for a man, but not by much, it is still a good height for anyone to be at. He has a lighter and more slender frame though, that can sometimes make him appear to be weaker than he actually is; while he does not have very obvious muscle like some men or women he's seen around, he has a fit body and has a sort of lean muscle on him. He is clearly built more for speed and agility rather than brute strength. Interestingly enough, that shares similarities with his dragon, Pyralis.

This young man has dark black hair, not the brown-hued shade that is commonly seen when in the sunlight or in good lighting. No, it is an inky black color that is not unlike the sky at night or the shadows that creep into the world when the night is upon forests and buildings alike. His hair, which its texture is mostly straight with a slight wave when it is longer, is often kept quite short; the longest he has ever worn it is just below ear-length. Currently, the length of his hair is just below the top of his ears. His skin tone is quite pale naturally, almost fair would be another descriptor for it, and it can get sunburnt easily; which is not very fun.

As for his eye color, now that is a bit of an interesting thing, they're a more straightforward thing that makes him stand out a little from the crowd. He has complete heterochromia, having two seperate eye colors. His left eye is brown, a deep earthy tone that is so dark that it almost appears to be black; and his right eye is a bright blue, nothing like the darkness of the other iris and more akin to the rich flawless blue of a cloudless sky in the afternoon. It certainly is quite the striking contrast, the difference between the two colors is startling. The dark brown of damp earth on one side, and the flawless blue of the sky on the other. In truth she does know when to be cautious and to hang back, but she often disregards that knowledge unless it is something that even she does not want to involve herself in.

Everything about this young man is quiet.

Neo is not the type of person to be very chatty, rather he's quite the opposite. He is not one to start a conversation with others, even if he really wants to, though he will respond if asked a direct question and most likely will leave it at that; and in normal circumstances, he just goes along with his life without speaking to anyone unless he really needs to. Just in a simple interaction with him, one can easily discern that he is not the most friendly or outgoing type, which is made apparent by the degree of his quietness that seems to go deeper than simply shyness. He is not the type to be loud and bold and be outwardly energetic, rather he is the type to be lurking in the background of room and keeping to himself.

Rather than trying to make an impression on those around him, this boy tries to keep his head down and give his best imitation of a phantasm, a ghost. He has no wish of bringing much attention to himself, whether by being bold and reckless or social or troublesome, and his interests are more aligned in being not noticed; which is somewhat cancelled out what with a dragon such as Pyralis and having joined with the Red Scars in the Iron Gauntlet. But perhaps it will be good for him to have a chance in the spotlight for once, rather than going unknown and unnoticed in life.

Interestingly, despite his quiet demeanor, Neo somehow manages to avoid having the sense of being timid around him. Something about his bearing manages to dissuade people from assuming that he'd be an easy target, it's not shy even though he is quite reserved, and it's far from arrogant even though he does possess some confidence in himself. He could still be targeted by a bully or an attacker, but more often than not he can give the potiental antagonist a chance to think twice once they're in close range. He is one hundred percent not a person to look for a fight, and he doesn't care for fighting in general most of the time, but he can and will defend himself if he finds that he needs to. But even with that mentality, there are times where he decides that it is best to remain passive and try his best to ignore it; which can lead to a veritable explosion when he finally reaches the end of his patience and turns on his antagonist to make them back off once and for all.

Which brings us to the point of another part of Neo's personality. In fact he can be quite fierce when pushed enough, to uncover this fiery streak is to well and truly push his patience to the end of its limits. And that takes either a long time of irritating him and those he is close to, or one or two big incidents that he cannot just tolerate. Either way, when he reaches the end of his patience, he will let it be known to whoever was the one to provoke him. And his true anger is like an inferno, destructive and fierce and noticeable, fuelled by aggravations over a course of a period of time that he kept to himself, and then let loose when he admits that he cannot keep it to himself anymore. It would be best to stay out of his way when he is like that, although he would not explode on someone that is not connected to the events; but as he is typically a very quiet and lowkey person, it is just best to get out of his way when he's well and truly angry.

Neo is admittedly on the cautious side, he's just someone who wants to get the scope of the situation opposed to seeing something happening and rushing in with guns blazing. It translates into any social interactions he happens to have, he wants to have an idea of the other party's temperment or personality before trying to engage them, but he will answer if asked something even if he has no idea who the person or people are. He seems to be more at ease with someone if he does have a concept of said person's general demeanor, although they certainly would not notice if he was tense or more relaxed. While this aspect is certainly not a bad thing to have in a person, there are far too many reckless indivuals in the world after all, his caution can hold him back in circumstances where he needs to take action and take action now. He can have trouble with simply doing something without thinking about it, a bit of an overthinker if you will.

Pyralis is quite an interesting creature from her appearance. Standing at a decent height of 16 feet tall, she towers over humans and is not the shortest of the dragons; rather she is more in the middle between the heights of her kind, not the mimimum nor the maximum but right in between the two. In terms of build she is a slender thing, with an agile form and long neck and tail that somehow do not look out of proportion on her. Clearly built for speed and not so much for strength, while she does have lean muscle that moves underneath her gleaming scales, she is definitely lacking when against a Brute or Tank class dragon. Her wings are large and powerful enough to support her swift aerial movements; the bat-like membrane of the wings are the same color as her body.

While not weak and definitely not delicate, this dragoness has a appearance that makes her look delicate. The natural lines of her form have a fineness around the edges that make the jagged features have an elegant type of sharpness; the make of her head is triangular in shape with a typical elongated muzzle that tapers off slightly at the end, her facial features are finely etched.

Now this dragon is quite the eyecatching one, not in terms of build or dark colors, but in the beauty of her scales. For she is a beautiful amber in coloration, the right tone between the dark almost brownish shade and the light yellow-ish hue; one could say that she is the color of polished amber, the classical shade that is light yet rich with the orange color. But the attention-grabbing part doesn't come from this vivid coloration, although it certainly contributes to the effect, but rather the make of her scales. Her scales seem to be almost translucent, seeming to allow a little bit of light through them, enough to shine into the color itself and light it aflame; whether this is a mere trick of the light, an illusion formed by how her scales are shaded, or if the top layer of scales are actually translucent to an extent, it is unknown. But it is a stunning effect, especially in settings with dappled light or lit by fire, as those tend to emphasize the unique quality of her scales and coloration.

An interesting thing is how her appearance seems to follow a pattern of sorts: her scales have an almost glass-like quality with the translucence and general look to them, and her horns and spines. While not covered in spikes like dragons can be, she does have some, and these natural adornments also have a unique quality to them, in that they look as if made of colored glass. Almost perfectly clear and with some having a more jagged appearance to them, it only reinforces the crystalline or glass type motif. As for the placement of these horns; the most noticeable is on her head. The dragon has an array of horns fanning out the span of the top of her head, like she is a queen and wearing a crown of glass; then there is a single row of spikes running from the back of her skull to the last few inches of her tail, varying in size with the ones placed on the back being the largest.

Personality:

In regard to the differing personalities between dragon and rider, if Neo is the yin then Pyralis is the yang, if he is the moon then she is the sun.

A promient difference between the two is Pyralis' boldness. It is quite apparent within a few minutes of watching or interacting with the dragoness, she is clearly more of a risk-taker and is prone to daring actions, especially in the air or in other situations where she is confident that she will not fail, not even that deters her sometimes. She is the type to jump into a situation with little to no observing to see what exactly she is getting herself into. There is no doubt about it, she seems to lack all of her human partner's cautiousness, at least that is what it often seems to be to observers to her risk-taking and otherwise bold manner of life. In truth she does know when to be cautious and to hang back, she just tends to ignore that knowledge to jump into the mess, the only things that will deter her is if her rider is particularly opposed to that, or if the situation is something that even she does not want to involve herself in.

Interestingly, despite being more of a daredevil, she is not too much of a social butterfly, so to speak. She does not care for being in a large group, and has a certain distain for crowds and other forms of gatherings. While able to tolerate the presence of others, she is often not very happy with it and while not always appearing to be so, she is just waiting to get away. She is not the friendliest of dragons to be around, but rarely will she outright force someone away or out of the area; no, she will respond if spoken to, and unless there is animosity between her and the other party, will often be polite. Not outright unwelcoming, not entirely cold and closed off, but not welcoming either, not eager to strike up conversation with others of her kind.

Pyralis can certainly live up to the meaning of her name, "Of fire" is what her moniker means, and she can be as fierce as fire itself when she wants or has to be. She may be suited for speed above most things, but the thing about her is that she will face off against a dragon many times stronger than her if provoked. She is not really the type to go around picking fights just because she can, but when she has the motivation to do so, then she will gladly finish it. She may not be overly aggressive at default, at least in how she plays with others, but she is a force to be reckoned with if anyone throws fuel on the ever present fire in her spirit.

This dragon actually does like to present herself as a more elegant sort. And it often works too, paired with her appearance and that something about her bearing that completes it. She knows that she can be reckless and easy to rile sometimes, but that isn't all that there is to her. She can be quite calm and collected when she needs to be, more fitting in demeanor to her human than the near polar opposite that they are; and in fact, she sometimes enjoys to be on the more serene side. It gives her a rest and a change of pace, she enjoys being bold and fierce and then calm and sometimes cold. There is an innate grace to her temperment that emerges and cools the burning edges of her character, it smoothes down the sharp parts into something less lethal.

Something that can surprise others, is that she has a strategic mind. She can be downright calculating, and it is a good thing to not be the target of her interest. She has a natural instinct for tactics, and while she is comparatively not very old and experienced in the world, she can make some good plans when she decides to actually use some common sense rather than bursting onto the scene with figurative guns blazing. In addition, she is of a sharp mind and is a quick thinker in situations where it is necessary to be on the move; she is a dangerous enemy to make, and not just because she is a dragon.
