Name:
Etana
Meaning “Strength of Purpose”
Age:
4 Years
Gender:
Female
Pack:
Everfree
Rank:
Subordinate
Desired Rank:
Ha! Like she’d say! Can’t let the competition know of her schemes after all. Though, there are… a few spots she’s interested in. As long as she gets to tell others what to do, she’s fine with any of them.
Why Do You Deserve This Rank?:
Why doesn’t she? Her skills in leadership and willingness to take on the task of heading patrols obviously make her a front runner for whatever higher rank she desires. Not to mention her ability to utilize all present members to the best of their ability. She knows what she’s doing, and she does it well. Only thing that could possibly hold her back is her inability to truly mingle with the other members of the pack, besides the usual boss-and-underling dynamic she holds with most.
Thoughts On The New Leadership?:
He is the rightful ruler of the pack. He was chosen to do so by the founders. Not someone else. Anyone doubting his rein would be doubting them and their wisdom as well. And so what if he’s young? He’s got the competence to run the place! Which is more than she can say for a lot of the older wolves as well as his siblings. Those against him are more than likely wanting the spot for themselves, in her honest opinion. As for loyalty? Well, there is none more loyal than she. Some may believe themselves to be (especially some power hungry females), but she proves them wrong in a heartbeat. There is no turning against him.
Just How Loyal Are You?:
As of right now, to a fault. Old friendships die hard, after all. Whether he knows it or not, she’s got his back through thick and thin. Even if they may not be as close as they once were.
Thoughts On The Rouge Group:
Oh boy, are they in for a fight. She will never bow down to their desires. Such fiends have no right to this land. Not if she has anything to say about it.
Pack Reputation:
Etana is no pushover within the pack ranks, bending her will to no one but the higher ups. She is known to act and see herself as superior to all subordinates, and will constantly be bossing them around. The elders of the group don’t get a pass either, despite their superior experience. If she sees the chance to prove herself, she will absolutely take it. She is always the one volunteering to lead patrols or tasks within the camp. Jumping at the chance to show her prowess and experience. Though, many question whether it is truly her desire to boss wolves around or something else that drives her to do this. Either way, she is quite skilled in organizing and leading others. Not only is she brilliant at just simply giving intelligent orders and leading patrols, but she knows to use everyone’s strengths to the fullest extent. Benefit to being a bit of an outsider within the group.
Besides her bossy tendencies, this autumn flaked female is thought to be quite reliable in combat. More so when it comes to dealing with other wolves. While hunting is all fine and dandy, she’d much rather duke it out with something she can spin her web of words around. If talking fails to do its intended purpose – something that varies between encounters – her main strategy is to hit a succession of hard-to-take blows, all of which are designed to prevent the target from fleeing (as there is no way she’d be able to keep up if they did run). These attacks are not only quite brutal but are outright unpredictable. One never knows where the hit will land until it already has. Facing her in battle is not for the faint of heart, so it is well advised to steer clear of her when on the opposing side. However, it has been said that some of her nastiest blows are strictly reserved for those she perceives as the largest threats to the pack. Are they truly as she perceives them, however…? Well, that’s left purely up for debate.
Appearance:
Etana is a bit on the modest side of things in terms of size. Being somewhat in the middle of her everything while still leaning slightly to the large side for females. She stands at a height of thirty two inches at the shoulder, being at the very cusp of an average sized wolf. Though, maybe on the large side for females. Her weight measures in at around 147 pounds, with accumulation of said weight being a mix of muscle and heavy fur. Her overall build is a strong one, fit with a prominent muscular layer. These muscles mainly gather around her shoulders and hind legs – leading to explosive takeoffs when running and incredibly harsh blows (which do large amounts of damage thanks in part to those long claws of hers). If only they added any amount of speed to her arsenal, then she’d be set for life. The structuring of this muscle mass has all but made her regal posture all the more noticeable. With her head held high, paws that barely (if ever) falter, strong and attentive upright ears, and hard-set eyes, her walk simply screams formidable. Those muscles just add to the already striking pose.
The current subordinate has quite the heavy coat to fit her form, being especially designed for the colder months of the year. But it does, thankfully, shed just enough to not overheat her during the summer or odd hot spring day. Her fur is long across nearly all areas of her body, typically bouncing slightly whenever she moves around swiftly. Even the back of her legs carry some “extra” fur to them, all of which sticks backwards in stark contrast to the smooth and short front area. The fur along her cheeks, head, and neck is especially fluffy, making the areas look like one solid mass rather than three separate ones. The fur of her tail, however, is a bit lacking in comparison to the rest of her form. While still fluffy, it is not as thick as the rest of her pelt is. Though, it is nonetheless plush and a great thing to rest one’s head on. Her ears are a bit of an oddity for a wolf, being smaller than usual and much more rounded at the tips. Most assume this cute but awkward appearance is mainly due to the large quantity of fur around her head, but no one is for certain. Her snout is sprinkled in the smallest amount of thin whiskers. If not for their coloration, they would never be noticed.
Color wise, this regal female has a lot to offer. The basis of her “design” is centered around the image of late autumn, where the leaves truly begin to fall and lose their beautiful hues. Not to say she isn’t beautiful, though. She very much is. Truthfully, there is no one color that presides over the entirety of her form. Some may be more present than others, but nothing is too excessive. Starting from her legs, the first thing one will notice is a tanish-white shade – much more on the white side than the tan. This color coats the front sides of both pairs of legs, her paws, underbelly, sides of her muzzle, cheeks, and underside of her neck. The sort whispers from before contrast the muzzle greatly with a hue of black. Some white also pops in right above her eyes (towards the inside of her face) and inner ears. Separating the white of her neck and chest is a ring of black cutting across the upper-chest, lower-neck region. This ring starts out a bit wide before becoming a bit thin and finally thickening out again upon reaching the other side. Some brownish hairs are also mixed into the black along the way, but most prominently where it connects to the rest of the darker coat areas. Above this ring, another one with a bit more width and similar coloration begins to start, but ends shortly after coming into existence. Normal tan (with a bit of the usual orangy wolf hue) covers the back of her legs as well as all of her upper hind ones. Besides the white, that is. More of this tan can be seen forming a stripe down her muzzle – starting right after her eyes “end” and forming a small ring of itself round both while being thicker underneath her eyes. A small amount of gray forms under this tan as well, but is mixed in with both the white and tan shades. It also details the back of her neck with some small areas of black sprinkled about the area. Speaking of black, it plays a rather large role within her autumn-design pelt. It covers a large portion of her upper back and sides, but not as one solid mass. A pale sort of tan (slightly darker than that of her legs) is sprinkled amongst this black, like salt in a bowl of pepper. Black fur also forms an upper face mask which only covers the upper half of her head. So from the lowest portion of her eyes and up. Some light gray can be seen along the sides of her head as the black partially fades out. The back of her rounded ears takes on an amber-tan of sorts as does the majority of her tail. Though, these are the only two areas that this color can be seen. The tip of said tail is, of course, black. But the tips of her hold no such addition to them and stick to the amber-tan. The most striking part about her is her eyes. They are a chilling ice blue that simply demands respect and obedience. Those who do not “bow” to her whims will be met with a cold stare most cannot handle to look into.
Scars. Those dreaded things. They taint the skin of all those cursed to have taken large quantities of damage within a single sitting. She despises them on her hide. But they at least show the amount of experience she has gained over the years. Thankfully, the majority of those she does have are covered by her fur. Though, there are some unlucky ones that were too stubborn to let themselves fade. Or were simply in an area where such a process would be impossible. One of these Scars resides on the right side of her snout. It’s a small little thing, barely noticeable amongst the black of her whispers. But it is most certainly present, much to her great annoyance. She can often be seen licking this mark from time to time. Particularly when under high levels of stress. Despite her ears already appearing to be quite short, there is a clear absence of her left ear tip. No one knows how this happened and she refuses to speak on it – pretending that it just doesn’t exist. One other noticeable scar is a long slash which runs down her right hind leg. Thankfully, the nasty former-wound has not caused a limp to form but it certainly isn’t pretty. However, some fur appears to be growing over it once more.
Etana’s voice is an unmistakable one, being both powerful and oddly gentle in its own right. A single muttered word is enough for anyone to pick up on the lingering, no, pronounced demand of respect it holds. And it leaves no room for questioning her, taking up all the air one could ever use to argue back. It does not matter if what she says is on the “kinder” side of things for her or just a general statement, that demand will always be present and sometimes almost suffocating unless one complies to its wishes. The pitch of her voice is within the “medium” range, not being a squeaky high pitched voice but also not one of those lower feminine ones. It is also a bit rough sounding, being slightly “scratchy.” Though this scratchiness is completely natural… somehow. But she quite likes it considering it grants even more “power” to her already ear-snatching voice. She typically sticks to the “monotone” side of speaking, very rarely relaying her emotions verbally. That’s what her eyes are for, after all. Anger is the most noticeable emotion to ever be heard from her, but it is always rather mild. However, with that powerful commanding style of hers, it may send some of the weaker wolves running for the hills. What really exemplifies her voice, though, are inspirational speeches. Between the respect her voice naturally demands and the usual monotone feel, adding a bit of doctored up emotions and fancy is enough to lift the spirits of most wolves. Especially in times of turmoil where she has the skill of remaining outwardly calm at all times.

Other:
- Oh boy, this gal will be in so much denial if she were to develop feelings for another! She’ll try her hardest to push them down. May even try and push away the one she holds feelings for with jabbing remarks. Though, she’d always feel bad about it afterwards and work to make up for it.
- She tries her best to act “nice” towards others. But that mostly turns out to be oddly sharp comments and awkward remarks that could almost be considered insults if not for her intent. Or even despite her intent.
- Etana often observes others from afar when the day is just getting started. Nothing better to do, after all, since she doesn’t exactly have many friends she’s willing to converse with on a daily basis.
I used ta have six kitties… and I’m planning on getting a sixth despite my mother’s protests. >:3
Also, watermelon~
