~~~~~ The World of Etherea ~~~~~

Etherea is made up of seven different Regnums, these being Oceanus Regnum, Glacies Regnum, Nox Regnum, Lumen Regnum, Ignis Regnum, Silvus Regnum, and Ventus Regnum. Each has its own unique patron creature that is their namesake, and which is the symbol on all of that Regnum’s banner. Each citizen has a spirit animal that, once discovered, can take on physical form. If they do not wish for their spirit partener to be in their animal form at that moment, they can be put into dormant form with practice, which is a piece of jewelry or marking of the animal on whichever part of their body they choose, or whichever piece of jewelry they choose. Each person, once their spirit partner is awakened, they can control a certain element. These consist of Ice, Electricity, Light, Shadow, Venom, Water, Fire, Wind, and Earth. They can get certain skills from their bond as well, based on their animal. All citizens have their Awakening Ceremony at age 15, and once awakened, those with higher potential will become recruits to become Spirit Guardians. Only once every 100 years does each patron creature of their respective realm become awakened in one individual of that Regnum. The ones who are the spirit partners of the patron beasts are known as the Chosen Ones of their realm. The Chosen Ones can control two elements, based on their creature. It is the Spirit Guardians’ job to protect their Regnum, but also especially the Chosen One of their Regnum, which is why they must find the Chosen One every 100 years as soon as possible. Once they are found, all seven are gathered and taken to an undisclosed location to train, as they will train at a much higher level than citizens and Spirit Guardians, and hopefully, they will eventually be able to defeat the Unseen. There are those who try to replicate the Awakening with a potion that has a bit of whichever beast’s fur, or feathers, or scales in the potion. This can end up killing one or both of the partners, as it has to be done before age 15, when the person’s true spirit animal would emerge, so it can be replaced with the false animal. Sometimes, after enough time passes, the true animal is entirely replaced with the false one, with not even a trace of their true animal left. It can also cause the humans involved to merge with the animal, causing them to be able to shift between their human and animal forms, and even in their human forms, they have remnants of their animal forms, such as claws, wings, eyes, tails, ears, and teeth. It can also end up working, and having unnatural partnerships, such as a jaguar bonding with a person from Oceanus Regnum. These people are then brought into their ranks. They are mostly trying to replicate the Awakening process with the Patron Beasts, because it would give them unbelievable power. These people are known as the Unseen, due to the fact that the leaders themselves are never seen, only the remains of their replication of the Awakening process.

~~~ Oceanus Regnum ~~~

The people of this coastal Regnum are often fishermen, boat makers, or weapons/net makers. Some also weave, usually the women, who then teach their daughters. The fish they catch is used as both income for their Regnum and food. They also sell their weaved goods at markets and such. They often are partnered with ocean based creatures and sea birds. They don’t bond with fish, except for sharks. They share borders with Ignis Regnum and Silvus Regnum. Their patron creature is Oceanus the Sea Serpent. A magnificent creature he is, with glistening dark blue scales, and a long seafoam green fin running down his back, and deep aqua blue eyes. He has large, translucent wing-like appendages on his sides. He has a sea foam green tail fin, and a seafoam green underbelly. The banner of Oceanus Regnum is a dark blue background with aqua wave markings around the edges and an aqua symbol of the Sea Serpent in the center. The elements of Oceanus Regnum are Water, Wind, Earth, Light, and Venom.

~~~ Glacies Regnum ~~~

The people of this northern Regnum are often hunters, weapons makers, sewers, and knitters. They also raise some tough livestock of the north such as musk ox. The animals they hunt, and the articles of clothing that they sew and knit are used for income in their Regnum in the markets. They share borders with Nox Regnum and Lumen Regnum. They bond with Arctic or cold weather animals.Their patron creature is Glacies the Amarok. She’s a gigantic, beautiful white wolf with blazing blue eyes. Unlike other Amaroks of myth, she is not a brutal creature, but she is one who helped to create the world of Etherea. The Glacies Regnum banner is an electric blue background with a snowy white, icy pattern on the border, and the emblazoned symbol of the Amarok in the center. The elements of Glacies Regnum are Ice, Wind, Earth, and Water.

~~~ Nox Regnum ~~~

The people of this dark Regnum don’t get out often, known for their city of darkness, Tenebris. They aren’t usually particularly skilled in much except for fighting and other street skills, unless they’re in the higher end of society. They share borders with Glacies Regnum and Silvus Regnum. Their land is permanently night time, so going into any of the other realms in the day feels strange, and hurts. They bond with just about any creature, but usually of a dark color, darker than the regular animal. Some say this Regnum is where the Unseen have their camp, but no one truly knows. There has been talk of strange things going on in the forests of this Regnum, but only rumors. Their patron creature is Nox the Shadow Dragon. He is a magnificent creature with obsidian black scales, including his underbelly, although those scales are larger and are arranged single file. He has hauntingly bright violet eyes, with slit pupils. He has long, curving silver horns, and a row of silver spikes going down his back and to the tip of his tail, which has a silver, arrow-like barb on the end. He has a small silver horn on the end of his nose as well. His wings are pitch black, with scattered silver scales like stars on the underside. His fire is also hauntingly violet. He is the one who brought eternal night to Nox Regnum. The Nox Regnum banner is a black background, with a violet star pattern around the border, and a violet symbol of the Dragon in the center. Their elements can be Ice, Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Shadow, Venom, or Electricity.

~~~ Lumen Regnum ~~~

The people of this light-blessed Regnum usually go all around the Regnums, meeting many people of the other Regnums, and developing their many skills along the way. They bond with just about any creature, but usually a lighter colored version of that animal. They sell many things to many people at the market from all over Etherea. They share borders with Glacies Regnum and Ignis Regnum. They are blessed with permanent sunlight. You could walk into Lumen Regnum and not see a cloud in the sky. This is because of their patron creature, the Pegasus named Lumen. He is a proud beast, a palomino stallion with golden wings that have silver tips, and he has deep blue eyes. He blessed his Regnum with constant sunlight. The banner of Lumen Regnum is a golden background with a deep blue sun pattern around the border and a deep blue symbol of the Pegasus in the center. The elements of this Regnum are Ice, Wind, Fire, Light, Electricity, Water, and Earth.

~~~ Ignis Regnum ~~~

This fiery volcanic Regnum is made up of a chain of all volcanic islands. The volcanoes have formed a vibrant ecosystem, and have been dormant for the past century, since the Ignis Regnum Chosen One was awakened. Every one hundred years, when the Chosen One comes of age and is awakened, the volcanoes erupt, but the people prepare and make sure to build up their lava defenses that they have perfected over the centuries.They are usually skilled in fishing, hunting, trapping, and construction, as well as some weaving. They share borders with Oceanus Regnum and Lumen Regnum. These people bond with jungle or ocean animals. Their patron creature is Ignis the Phoenix. She is a beautiful bird with scarlet feathers, with a few longer ones that have black stripes on her head. She has pale gold chest and neck feathers, and bright gold on the tips of her wings and tail. She has keen amber eyes and a hauntingly eerie yet beautiful song. The banner of Ignis Regnum is a scarlet background with a golden flame design around the border and a golden symbol of the Phoenix in the center of the banner. The elements of Ignis Regnum are Fire, Earth, Water, and Light.

~~~ Silvus Regnum ~~~

This forested Regnum is an entirely forested area, from the dark pines in the northern area that spreads farther down into Nox Regnum, making up all of their forests as well, to the southern deciduous and pine forests of Ventus Regnum.They share borders with these two Regnums. These people are usually skilled trappers, trackers, fighters, and hunters. They bond with forest creatures. Their patron creature is Silvus the Peryton. He has the front half of a large stag, with a mahogany coat, flecked with copper and gold, with copper colored antlers. His back half is that of an eagle, with mahogany feathers that have hints of copper and gold at the tips of his eagle tail and large wings. His eyes are a bright emerald green. The banner of Silvus Rengum is a dark mahogany background, with an emerald green leaf pattern around the border and an emerald symbol of the Peryton in the middle. The elements of Silvus Regnum are Earth, Water, Light, and Ice.

~~~ Ventus Regnum ~~~

This mountainous Regnum is entirely covered in mountain ranges, perfect for high flying birds and mountain dwelling creatures. The people of this Regnum tend to be skilled in climbing and spotting things normal people would overlook. They normally have their towns and cities in valleys, easier to defend. Their patron animal is Ventus the Griffin. She has the pale tan back half of a lioness with the tuft of hair on the end of her tail being a light gold color. She has the front half of a golden colored eagle,with the tips of her wings being a light silver, along with her claws and beak. Her eyes are a red-orange color, almost coppery. The banner of Ventus Regnum is a light gold color, with a red orange swirling pattern around the edge, and a red orange symbol of the Griffin in the center. The elements of Ventus Regnum can be Wind, Fire, Water, Light, Ice, Earth, and Shadow.
