Anniss "Aspen" Ijokre
"Someday, maybe I'll get quoted. I doubt they'd have a good reason, though."

Female | Probably Straight | Dragon Lord's Bond | [ Ann-iss Ee-yoke-r ]

Relationship with Ability:

If she were to have figured it out by now, then everything would be obvious. She knows she's descended from the Common Man; or, really, just that she's way too invisible to be normal, and that has to be something. Her parents never told her anything, though perhaps that's because she never asked. She has no idea how stark a contrast her simple existence is probable to be against the god she's supposed to fix.

Appearance:

Aspen can be easily overlooked, if you're trying hard enough to ignore her. Well, she's easy to ignore no matter what, really. When she was younger, she even used to believe she was invisible- headcounts would pass her by, people would skim over crowds without ever noticing her, and hey- in a game of hide and seek, she typically always won. She's not particularly tall- though is above average- at 5'10", standing over so many of her female peers, and yet somehow they talk through her every time, as if she's a really thin, really tan, window. Man, that would be some window.

She holds herself tall, despite everything, and even though many people hardly give her a second glance, those that do often look a third time out of her secondhand impression. If someone talks to her, they would see the way her hourglass-esque form seems to gracefully sway, and they would never be able to tell- is she poised to spring as a tiger would? Or is she just the embodiment of elegance? Her arms and legs always seem to know where to go, what to do, as if she was just given a talent that she hardly notices, and everyone else typically hates.

Often, one could spend days, months, years of knowing Aspen, and never know all the simple things about her- that's just how she is. She doesn't try to flaunt her colors, and it shows. Even if her colors might be copper blond, wavy hair that falls naturally over a heart-shaped face that's dusted with freckles and containing dark brown eyebrows and lashes, with pale, calculating jade eyes. Really, how do people miss her? She is surprisingly beautiful, but doesn't often use that to her advantage as, really, she doesn't care much for it. The need for makeup, for nail extensions and expensive surgeries- that all goes right over her head, and, more often than not, right into the trash. Ah, and how could one forget- the relentless telling from her mother to shave your arms, you ape of a kid. Not that she ever listens. After all, she's eighteen now, yes?

The argument is that she's skipped over for her general look of disdain, of course. She does it without realizing, usually, and it follows her wherever she goes.

Attire & Accessories:

Aspen wasn't given that nickname for a reason, you know. She doesn't wear earrings, but she has a silver necklace which hangs- hidden by her shirt- shaped like a london plane tree in bloom. Not that many people know the difference, of course. It's not like they'd start calling her "London Plane", after all. Other than that, she doesn't wear any other accessories.

Her clothes, though. They could be described as "casual", if it can be called that, and "construction", if you'd rather name it as it was meant to be. She wears boots- any boots she can find- with a pair of worn jeans ripped at the knees and a regular, white, or grey, or black, cotton t-shirt. Over the t-shirt she's usually got a flannel, or if not, a baggy black sweatshirt that would hang over her hands if she gave it a chance. And no, she doesn't wear bracelets. She hates how they feel.

Personality:

Well, Aspen is a bit of a careless lady, or rather- not a lady at all- but when she needs to be, she can be surprisingly calm and gentle. She's a bit like a candle- easy to pass over even when she's the only other one, and much easier to miss in a plethora of flashier, showier others. Her patience, akin to that of candlelight, hardly ever runs low, and when it does, it gets quickly replaced by a newer and more invigorated light. She's not naïve- heck, far from it- but she can almost instantly tell how to act around people, and some people require a lot more patience than others.

Her personality, if anything, is flexible. She doesn't have a set of traits that fits her, no- not excessive brutality, or tendency to give a mouse a cookie, or hug trees for a living. Instead, her personality is highly dependent on the people around her. If somoene she talks to is excitable and enjoys making jokes, she'll crack a joke now and then. If another person wants only to sit in the dark and wallow in pity, she'll tell them off for it. And if a person she's around just needs someone to be there, she'll always be there, every last time. It's not a quality she necessarily likes about herself, but she is naturally inclined towards trying to make others be comfortable around her, and it just happens, whether she wants it to or not.

Really, she just doesn't get the chance to be who she needs herself to be (or, who she wants to be), a daredevil, walking the line between death and life without a care in the world. She has never been afraid of doing things, whether with her hands, her mind, or her physical prowess- the thing is, she simply can't. She doesn't have any physical prowess, and things she tries to do with her hands always seem to break. Surprisingly enough, she won't give up on these things, but because of her intense determination to finish something she probably never could otherwise, others often tell her to give up before she gets close to finishing.

As soon as she finds someone interesting, she'll stick by their side. Perhaps as a remnant of her childhood, or as a side effect of being invisible, one may never know. But her true tendencies- the ones influenced by no one but herself- are that she is patient, kind (in the sense that she's honest when she needs to be), a little lot clingy, and rather miscevious, resorting to practical jokes- or impractical jokers- when she knows someone well, and sees a good time to use stealth to her advantage.

Because she is who she is, she doesn't particularly mind people not noticing her. It gets on her nerves occasionally, and sometimes she even reaches out to shout at people if she wants their attention bad enough- but even then, they briefly look and then give up, reognizing neither the arm that's grasping theirs or the voice calling them through the thick of a crowd.

Oh, and she can stare people straight in the eye for hours. It so happens to be a product of being ignored: when you want someone to see you, you look at them. She has long since lost the desire for people to notice her, but the habit never went away. If unoccupied from having nothing to occupy her (i.e. phone), she sits, or stands, and finds someone who's doing the same, giving them a look that tends to grow thunderously awkward, after a long time. Not for her, of course. For the other guy.

Likes:

History. Aspen enjoys all aspects of the past, be it good or bad. Of course, what fascinates her most is something others typically never think about- war. Why wars were started, and how they ended, and how the people in between would be disappointed with the people today.

Building and destroying things, not that she's very good at either. Well, she is to an extent- she's knocked over plates in her lifetime, and been able to do a rough job patching them back up again. Not a good job, mind you, but she enjoys it nonetheless.

Daredevil-ing. Granted, she's never been able to be good at being a badass, but she's always wanted to be one. It's like a childhood dream turned into the desire to enter the army. Not since she's found out she's actually important, of course.

The rain. She enjoys the cool feel of it on her constantly warm skin.

Doing dumb shit, how else do you learn?

Dislikes:

The heat. It's just uncomfortable, you know? A fire isn't so bad, but the sun is unbearable.

People noticing her. Yes, she wants to be noticed, but does she want all the attention that comes with it? No. She hasn't wanted that in years, and she doesn't want to want it. It just seems... pointless, you know? She likes when she can just be alone, or with a single person, or around a ton of people and still manage to distance herself from everything.

Anyone who's clueless, or has no idea about the simplest things, she can get annoyed at. It just works out that way. If a lovely lady has to explain herself to you, you should be prepared for backtalk.

Strengths:

Well, Aspen, if you hadn't noticed already, is skilled at disappearing. As if she fades into nothing, sometimes. Not that she does- she just blends in really well with the environment, as she would say. People move right over her, miss her in a group, even if she's the only one there. Nature seems to swallow her whole in its foliage, sometimes. She uses it to her advantage.

Fear- she has none, or at least, very little. In its place, she has smarts. If she wants to tell someone off, she will. If she wants to go black-diamond skiing, she will. Or if someone were to provoke her, she'd provoke them right on back, as long as she knew she wouldn't get killed for it. A few bruises are nothing to her.

Stealth. The one thing that leads her to believe she could've done better in the Middle Ages is the fact that she can do just about anything without anyone noticing. If she wants someone to notice her, she can. No one does, typically, because they have little reason to, for an average John Doe like her.

Weaknesses:

She is not strong. Not a bit. Sure, she looks it, broad-shouldered and tough-looking and all, but the truth is, she couldn't fight to save her life, if it came to it. She would try, of course, but all it would earn her is cuts and bruises, and a much less invisible reputation.

Fear- Of course, fear is the double sided coin. You notice; in books, the one who is felled is always done so by a lack thereof. Her lack makes it nearly impossible for her to know when to stop, and has gotten her in trouble she otherwise could've avoided. But hey, she's alive, isn't she?

She can be rather... annoying. Staring at people for uncomfortable amounts of time, seeming to "threaten" people when she knows what's better for them, and being clingy as hell- she's just one of those people you want to shove off and forget about, and you probably could. But for some reason, she just won't leave you alone. Maybe one day, you'd begrudgingly accept her persistence.

Affiliations:

Does she know her family? Does she not? We shall never know...

Well, she doesn't communicate with them, so that's that.

Backstory:

Aspen has... forgotten most of it. This is likely less because of an actual physical or mental issue and more simply the blockage of such knowledge, but she does remember parts about how she grew up.

When she was little, her family... never liked her. Her parents used her as a buffer for things that would threaten their lives, knowing perfectly well that no one could use an ability on her, and using it to their advantage. They also seemed to know that the benefit of this was that she was naturally invisible, and her parents would hide behind her, letting her do the talking for many situations they should've- a man in a black truck that came to take her father. Another, a year later. After three years, the technique stopped working. She was only six, and she didn't know she wouldn't see him again.

Her mother continued to hide behind her and her siblings, using them as a wall of children- ages eleven to one- so that no one could pick her off, decide that she was a woman unworthy of having her own family. Not that she enjoyed having a family, but she tolerated them, so she wouldn't have to be completely and entirely isolated. One by one, as they aged, each sibling turned eighteen and left the little apartment on the tornado plains they all did hate so. And then, it came to be Aspen's turn.

Perhaps, as she was vastly different from the rest of her siblings, she was loath to leave. But an... incident occured, and before her seventeenth birthday, she was already out of her house. Her most recent whereabouts were known when an anonymous caller tipped off DCS from Oklahoma City, only a hundred miles out of their town. When she turned eighteen, she decided to go to the place she was most called to.

RP Example:

If you really want one, I can toss one up from somewhere? I think you've seen quite a few, but I've still got the "Eleven from Tetra" one~

Actually, wait. Not today, ego.

Activity Level:

Hmm, I'd say pretty active? It fluctuates, and my activity is definitely going to be all over the place this summer, but it shouldn't be too bad. I don't really know if I want to number it though-

Trivia:

I literally cannot make a character under 5'10". xD Unless they're a dwarf, they're tall. So Aspen's tall, to all the shorter-ies out there.

She was entirely based off of the opposite of Xander's chaos. Originally, she would've been a peaceful, placid, willing to listen lady who never talked unless it was absolutely necessary, but she needed chaos because she's not supposed to be perfect as a bond, so she got mischief and annoying-ness.

Aspen knows nothing about fighting. My only character that has not a clue how to perform a physical activity well. This is so Xander can actually bond with the freaky invisi-woman. He knows and probably enjoys fighting, and she's got no clue how to punch-

Other:

AnOTHER. Ha. Don't worry. It's there.

Petyr Cerill Karlyn
"You want to know me, why don't you come find out?"

Male | Bi | Unicorn King's Descendant | [ Pete-r Sir-ill Car-linn ]

Ability Relationship:

Primary: Petyr uses it to get what he wants, when he wants it. He's gotten free food, entry into restricted areas, and away from anyone who would so much as try to harm him. Often, though, he's found himself in too much trouble. But he's rather good with his ability, as he's known about it his whole life- and will use it whenever he can, whether to impress or to defend, left to be seen.

Secondary: Day one of 2018: Having been told about it, he immediately finds himself using his power as much as he can. He's nowhere near good- accidentally turned a bobblehead into a skateboard rather than a pack of cigarettes, or liquor, or whatever he knew he'd be able to try now- but he's improving. And yeah, he loves it.

Appearance:

Petyr doesn't seem to have a particularly interesting appearance, though he certainly is handsome- aside from the fact that he always looks unkempt. As if he woke up mere minutes ago every time you see him. It could be the middle of the day, morning, or even late at night- but Petyr always has a rather distinctive bedhead, obsidian hair permanently sticking up every which way as though it was just trying to prove his head could look like a charred patch of grass anytime it wanted to. He doesn't care much about the fact that his hair looks the way it does- really, every time he fixes it, it misbehaves and turns itself back into a chaotic black mess- but if he tries hard enough, and with enough gel, he can manage it to be combed over neatly in the event of something classy.

For about twenty minutes.

In sharp contrast to his possessed wig of a head, his face is well-featured and pale, closer to the tone of whole-wheat noodles than honey, only slightly lighter rather than being a copper-esque statue of a man, one that anyone would easily fawn over because of such a carved out and appealing image. It's even less satisfying to see him turn into a brick in the daytime, having little to no capabilities for tanning, instead turning red after so much as a half an hour exposed under any sun. Really, it's less of a sunburn and more of a reddening, where he's been burnt so many times that his skin is just numb to any effects that direct light has on him.

He has a roman nose, flat and straight against his face, matching with a thin, judgemental mouth that always manages to look either pissed off or grinning devilishly. To top it all off, he has eyes the shade of coffee grounds, dark enough to hide the fact that he could, in fact, be staring into your soul and you wouldn't even know it. Not that he would be. Petyr doesn't care enough about the health and status of your soul to be willing to watch it, so most of the things he'll direct his gaze at are things that look attractive- mainly people, of course. But he'll typically look at something interesting going on as long as there's something to do involving it. Like street dancing.

Petyr has the body of a street dancer, tall and agile. Naturally, his height of six foot one gives him an advantage over others, being taller and therefore stronger (because that's how logic works). And he's no weakling- he's built well with muscle, but not an overbearing amount, truer to his "teenage bodybuilding" rather than The Rock. His entire body seems to be built around agility- if he wasn't so into sports, he'd probably have been a contortionist, considering what he can do with his limbs. Including his fingers that bend unusual ways without breaking.

Attire:

Petyr is typically seen in some military gear, all of which he got from his brother. Really, he wears his brother's old military pants and black, steel-toe boots, to remember him by, as Quinn told him. To lessen the influence of his long-lost other brother, he wears a black, tight-fitting t-shirt that accentuates his muscles, even if he doesn't enjoy how uncomfortable it is at times. To match, he wears his brother's dog tags, easily visible around his neckline. When asked, he'll simply say that "they're his brother's", and refuses to say much more about it.

And, of course, because he does enjoy the pirate look, he wears a single gold loop around his left ear. It works, ya know?

Voice:

Petyr's voice is level and doesn't crack, despite his ever so prone age. It is an alto, and a raspy one at that, but only slightly. It would be as if you were talking to a man with an average-deep voice (with a Chicago accent, obviously) who was a smoker but then just ate a lot of honey.

Aroma:

Let's be honest here- he smells like sweat, spray paint, and, strangely, fresh dirt. Not exactly appealing, but it certainly is unique, the mix of it all. If he's actually been a non-player-bachelor and has remembered to take a shower, it'd be more likely he'd smell like earth and the ocean, but not a certainty. So, still dirt. Dirt no matter what.

Personality:

Chaotic Neutral

He's a little snob, that's what. A rich snob that could probably sneak in and out of Fort Knox with gold bars if he wanted to. Petyr is sneaky, able to do many things under the noses of others, and they might never know that he was doing anything, let alone what he was up to in the first place. If they somehow find out that he was busy being "legal", he would be able to remove the evidence by eating it, or burying it, or just destroying it. No one but the wind and his family knows he can shapeshift, so he's gotten out of a quick fix easier than many others would. The work he does is something that would get him into trouble, but is highly skilled for his age and requires a huge amount of dedication, which he always has for his... occupation.

He often requires a lot of brawn, which has made him perfect for his job.

Everyone annoys him. Everything annoys him. He gets fed up with people being boring, or sappy, or talking too much about politics and jobs, preferring that they just get over it and decide to live together without all the ensuing drama made by anyone and everyone involved. The only thing that doesn't annoy him is a person who's always up to do something mischevious. Really, he's a free spirit, running on his own terms, for his own plans, listening to no one but the people he has to. Despite his seeming cowardice, he doesn't run from danger or threats, instead facing them like a rebel would- a spit in the face or sneer. He is not afraid of death.

He cheats death.

His cockiness and bragging, although extensive and particularly annoying, turns into real skills. It means that if you ask him to fight, he will show you that he knows tae kwon do, took boxing, played high school hockey... you get the point. If you beat him in a fight, though... he loves ya. Forever. Not in a romantic way, but should you beat him, he'd instantly become your best friend- which no one has ever done, mind you, but he has it out as an unspoken challenge, a defiant dare to the others around him that just shouts try me, you bastards.

Should someone get emotional around him, or about him... he'd have no idea what to do. He'd still be cocky and suave, as per usual, but his irritating self-confidence would turn into confusion for a moment, just a moment, and then he would ignore it and go right back to his usual self. If he was forced in a room with an intellectual for a month, however, he'd first try to strike up conversation, then escape, and finally, after multiple failed attempts, resign himself to the fact that the only thing he can do is ask "what do you want?" and move on to find something to do. Likely involving tearing his shirt into shreds, being the only thing available to do so with.

Despite everything, he's not into showing off his muscles, you know?

Occupation:

Gang leader in the city of Chicago.

Likes:

Hmm. The military, money, probably alcohol, assuming he's gotten his hands on some before. People joining in on his mischief runs.

Dislikes:

People being annoying, of course. Rain. Anything that tries to kill him, so basically, nature.

Strengths:

Fighting | Petyr had been in many types of sports, or sportive things- so many so, that he could grab a random person on the street and likely flip them onto their back on the ground. He would, too.

Mind Games | He may live in his own head, but as long as he can navigate his, he can navigate others'. Others' minds aren't as chaotically organized as his, so he can use the flitty way his mind works to play a sort of... game with others.

Charisma | Something that comes naturally to him is charm. He could sell ice to an eskimo, as they say. Or, more accurately, fire in a heat wave. It's just something he's always been able to do.

Weaknesses:

Sweetness | If anyone is kind, or sweet, the first thing Petyr will do is stare uncomfortably and then walk away, having no idea what to do in the event that someone dares to compliment him.

Getting Annoyed | Theoretically, if someone walked up to him and called him boring, he may or may not prove them otherwise by being a magician and eating fire, then promptly grinning and punching them in the face. This is purely theoretical, of course.

Authority | He has always had trouble with people who tell him what to do. Well, not "trouble", persay... more like the fact that he doesn't care, and the one ordering him to do something does, and there's a brief disagreement in which someone walks away mad. Usually, not him.

Affiliations:

Foster parents, and fifteen fourteen adoptive brothers. Do those parents love boys? Yes. So much so, that they didn't chance having their own kids, instead being willing to drive hours away to adopt more same-age boys. It's like having a giant friend group. With girlfriends.

Parents: Sylka and Vars Karlyn || They were told from the orphanage that he came with a note, one that said he was born with powers. They were willing to accept that and take him in, and even though he fights with them, he would never physically hurt them.

Siblings:

Crow and Vulture || 20 and 18 || Black-haired brothers, the two were adopted in Pennsylvania at the ages of six and eight. They both get along with Petyr pretty well, and Crow, being the oldest, messes around with his January 1st brother more than most. Crow is the peacekeeper, and they all respect him for his two extra years.

Adile, Inoko, and Waike || 17 || African triplets, the three were ten when they were pulled into the family from Louisiana, state of Mardi Gras and the still-going jazz age. They prefer to stick together rather than get involved in much of the siblings' drama, but have taken a liking to Sutan's charms. They watch Petyr shapeshift for the fun of it, and often do a lot more joking than participating when it comes to causing trouble.

Qiu, Cameron, and Mason || 19, 18, and 16 || From the same orphanage in CA, they were all taken in at their respective ages (assuming Mason was 7). Petyr was the first to be adopted, and these three the next few after Crow and Vulture, so they have a deeper bond than many of the others. Aside from practicing chokeholds on Crow, Petyr would also do so with any of 'em. Mason is the baby of the group, and often gets messed with more than the rest.

Sutan and Kiefer || 18 || Sutan is one of the most-like-Petyr brothers, and will often join him in running mischief together with Mason and Vulture. If there were two Petyrs, Sutan would be just that. So you can imagine that. Kiefer is the little German kid who is quietly involved in everyone's lives, and he gets along pretty well with his orphanage-brother and all the others. The two are from North Dakota, taken in at twelve.

Quinn and Mack || 18 || From the American South and Alabama, these two are relatively new to the brothers. The newest, all having been introduced when they were fifteen. Quinn likes to invent things, and is often fed up with the antics of his more fiesty brothers (but will actively participate in crafting things to use). This includes Mack, who he's known since he was much younger. Mack finally got his chance to drive 18-wheelers, and has done nothing else since.

Andrés || 17 || Sylka took pity on him specifically, when he was eight, getting coins from strangers in Venezuela. He tends to hang around Yves more than anything, and doesn't seem to like Petyr much, but tolerates him for the sake of their big brother.

Yves || 19 || Other than hanging around Andrés, Yves travels to his original family's home more than the rest of them. Unlike the rest of them, he remembers his parents giving him to foster care... he always thought they'd come back, but they never did. He was "stopped from waiting" in Rhode Island when he was twelve, and despises his "parents" and "brothers" for it. But Andrés understands, so he stays around him.

So-called Siblings:

Raven || Crow's lover. The two together are like alphas of a wolf pack, presiding over The Lost Boys with authority. Raven and Crow are what hold the group together. Raven doesn't dislike Petyr, but she puts him in his place should the need arise. And it does. A lot.

Adiri and Tai || Adile and Inoko's ladies. They're more than happy to involve themselves in the brothers' lives as long as they have interesting things to say, but not too many men have tea to spill. So for the most part, the four of them hang together, or with Waike, and all talk about whatever it is they talk about.

Xian and Lily || Qiu and Mason's... whatever they are. For both of them, they'd rather not speak of what they have, though Mason is more excitable while Qiu is just a reclusive man who finds he prefers the company of more men. Xian keeps away from the rest of them while Lily, delicate as her name, flits about all of them, making them better people because they all feel bad when decieving her or talking about bad things in front of her.

Aniya || Sutan's fiancée. She likes getting herself into trouble, and likes being mischevious like Sutan and the brothers are. She would, of course, like to get married before she has her kid, though. She tends to be the getaway driver or transport, bringing the equipment or- more often than not- being the one to perform a mischevious deed, and as such, gets along better with the troublemakers.

June || The girl Vulture and Cameron fight over. She plays them both but is extremely silent and kind, and doesn't mind the extreme attention from not making a decision as it means she gets left alone less than she typically would. She reasons that Petyr is too annoying and snobbish, but would never tell him that.

Backstory:

Petyr was the first to be adopted by Sylka and Vars, and as such, has been with them the longest.

Work in progress, naturally~

RP Example:

C'mon, now, I already showed ya, but it's gotten more impressive with Kampa's RP >:D

Activity Level:

Pretty high? 7-8? Don't know, ha.

Trivia:

Every time I see his name, it's Petyr Baelish. Petyr Baelish. Lord Baelish. If you don't know who he is, he's a guy in GoT who basically runs whorehouses and knows how to navigate court. A very dangerous man. So... loosely based off him? xD Not that intelligent though.
