Casian remained by Kate's side, the darkly coloured owl noticing that something was amiss. The human girl was healed and yet, the she-owl could sense sadness from the her. The she-owl took a minute to listen to her surroundings, know picking up on the faint sounds of laughter coming from across the lounge area. They were male, though the higher laughter belonged to a female. How strange. Why was this one not sitting with the others? . The she-owl's attention reverted back to the girl, giving satisfied hoots from the head scratches. It was at this time that the owl could study her face, now noticing the colouration of her eyes. Oh how they looked like exact copies of her previous master. It was then that the owl truly understood what her current master desired. The human girl needed to be watched over, just like the she-owl had done to her old master. The girl will never truly be alone, after all it is what her master wishes. . But the girl couldn't be sad, oh no, Casian had to do something about that. The she-owl started to hop in a silly manner around the girl, making soft chirp noises as she hopped. Every now and then, she would stop and turn her head this way and that way, clearly displaying an owl's natural flexibility regarding their neck. Maybe if the she-owl was silly then the human girl would laugh. --------------- Alaric had left his room and headed to the training grounds, the sun having already slipped behind the horizon. Once there, he was met with the sight of new recruits neatly lined up and expecting his arrival. He sighed, stretching his neck and causing it to crack. He did the same for his shoulders, hoping to ease off some of the stiffness from his prior punishment. As soon as he was ready, training had begun. . (Apologies for the short length ^^ I'm quite stuck at the moment regarding what to write... perhaps we could do a timeskip to the day Cordelia arrives?

Apocalypse RP . A shadowy figure stalked along the side of a partially collapsed building, effectively avoiding a group of figures to the far left. Said figure then proceeded to disappear around a corner and carefully remove a few planks from a broken window, trying their best to do so without making too much noise. For any loud noise could mean their untimely death. They nervously glanced around them after a plank had clattered to the floor, not having thought that they had used too much strength in removing it. Luckily for this individual, the group of figures had wandered far enough to not hear the clattering. When the individual realized this, they hastily climbed through the window before boarding it up once more. . Dixon released a sigh of relief, removing his hood once the window was boarded up behind him. He couldn't help but double check how sturdy it was secured before heading to check around the rubble littered first floor, crow bar in hand. He had cleared out the three floored building a while back and had made it his base camp. Now, one might be wondering what was going on so let's clarify. The Apocalypse happened. The undead was very much real and it spread like the plague. So naturally everything went to hell, cities crumbled, governments fell and the remaining population of humans were left to defend itself against this unknown sickness. . After double checking the three floors for any undead and reinforcing the barriers to keep them out, the young male could finally relax. Well, as much as anyone can within the Apocalypse. The male headed for his 'bedroom', if one could call it that anyway. It was situated on the third floor, in one of the furthest rooms from the stairs and the only room with a sturdy door. He proceeded to collapse onto the better than filthy mattress, his back pack now discarded next to him. *So much for finding necessities... All I managed to get was some stupid juice boxes and a box of pop tarts... Not to mention I ran into a few of those stupid walkers and had to take the long way home!* he thought to himself, ready to scream in frustration. And perhaps the lack of human contact for nearly 4 months was getting to him. . (Hope this is a good start for the RP^^) Edited at December 31, 2021 12:31 PM by Lunar Frost

The darkly coloured owl had opted to hop onto the arm that was offered to it, spending the rest of the evening with the girl. Casian had taken a liking to this particular human, regardless of their master's wishes. The girl needed a companion and a protector and as such, the she-owl would be both. . From that evening onward, one would see the girl busy with her chores and a darkly coloured owl would be nearby. If a vampire came too close for the she-owl's liking, she would swoop down and claw at their heads, hissing along the way. Sometimes, Casian's reaction were much quicker than the assigned vampire escort. _______ Part 1 . The Prince's room had been tidied with the help of a few magic spells and hardworking maids. Now it looked spotless, barely lived in, there wasn't a single trace of Alaric's outburst. Though it didn't last very long. In the past two weeks, the young prince had had countless outbursts, wrecking his room though by morning it was spotless once more. But it wasn't just Alaric who seemed to be in a fowl mood, for the usually chirpy Elizabeth had become more short tempered and snappy. Though their behaviour was not unfounded. Oh no, they had a pretty good reason. This being the arrival of dear miss Cordelia. . Lady Elizabeth held a higher status than Cordelia, and yet, whenever the female vampire came to visit said vampire would treat her like dirt or pretend she didn't exist. Let me clarify, this was not jealousy. Ellie was happy, she had a mate, a family and power. No, she was not jealous. She loathed the other female, hated her nearly as much as her younger brother. Ellie could clearly see through all of Cordelia's lies and her father's tricks to gain power and wealth. And yet, there she was, organizing a grand meal for when Cordelia arrives. If it wasn't for her mates soothing words and loving encouragement, and let's be frank, her fear for the king, she would have outright refused the King's order to be in charge. . Luckily everything was going well, excluding minimal hiccups here and there. Ellie had taken to keeping an eye on the four humans though most of her attention was on Ava. Ellie had no need nor desire to feed from the girl, though admittedly, she was starving herself to an extent. Well starving herself of human blood. She had come to learn of wonderful news the week prior to the dinner but decided to keep it to herself for the time being. ________ Part 2 . Alaric had spent most of his time either training the new soldiers or closed off in his room. He had opted to not openly rebel against the king for the time being. His wounds had healed up into a few nasty scars, matching others received over the years. He knew he had to play by his father's rules while Cordelia was there. And as such, he payed little mind to his personal blood bag, drinking from her whenever she was around. He grew accustomed to this new routine of a human being at his back and call. But he had to admit that he was not fond of this, not in the slightest. The whole agreement regarding the offerings was a joke in his mind, finding it foolish to just stick with 5 humans for a few years when they could have towns and/or cities at their disposal. . The Prince was wrapped up in his own thoughts, mumbling an 'Enter' when he heard knocking. He was dressed in his finest attire in anticipation for his mate's arrival, though his whole demeanor clearly conveyed his true feelings regarding the ordeal. He continued to stare out of the window, a soft chuckle escaping his lips as the sweet, but familiar, scent of the human girl wafted into his nose. "And so the little lamb dares to wander into the lions den..." he taunted the girl, using his speed to appear in front of her. His thumb and index finger tucked beneath her chin, forcing her to look up at him. "The question however... is if the little lamb is brave enough to play a lion's game?" He released his grip on her chin and zoomed back to his window, leaning against his frame as his predatory gaze remained on Kate. . "I'm not going to drink from you today... whoop-dy-doo... The catch? I'm going to ask you a few questions... you answer them truthfully, I'll grant you one favour. Naturally the favour cannot be anything like releasing you etc... But lie to me, and believe me I'll know when you do..." he zoomed back to her, using his own momentum to trap her against the wall, his glowing a deep red and fangs elongated. "I will drink just enough blood to keep you alive but barely conscious... Deal?" He hissed out, before zooming back to his spot prior to his threatening tactic. He gazed at her expectantly, a hint of curiosity in his now human-like gaze. Edited at January 5, 2022 01:42 PM by Lunar Frost

________ Part 1 ________ Alaric had taken to sit down by his usual spot at the large window, his predatory gaze never leaving the human girl's stature. He was quite pleased with the effect he was having on her. She feared him. And it excited him. He had successfully trapped the little lamb between a rock and a hard place, forcing her to make a decision. Well, a manipulated decision. He wanted her to agree to his deal so, even though he gave her a choice, the one option seemed more dire than the other. Perfect. The illusion of making a decision for one's self, the illusion of control... of power. He had often observed his father for long enough, especially during 'peace' meetings, though in retrospect, he was forced to attend them. His father used the same tactic, offering options, manipulating their decisions and ultimately getting what he wanted without having to give up something. That was true power, power of the mind. Brute force helped but being able to manipulate others into doing what you want, well it felt more exhilarating. And sadly, the young prince had picked up and adopted these tactics. . He disliked humans, or any lesser being in general, so toying with the girl provided him with simple entertainment. Humans were easy to fool, to manipulate, to scare. How these feeble creatures had managed to pose a threat to vampires way back when in the past, was a mystery to him. And yet, when he had first layed eyes on this particular human girl, when her scent entered his nose, when her blood met his tongue and clouded his mind... he understood. Even as she stood in the lion's den, back then and even now, she held a composed form despite the fear coursing through her body. If the humans were more like her, more like the other male currently in the dungeons, humans would truly pose a threat to vampires once more. They held within them a rare thing found in humans nowadays... bravery. True bravery, gained when the heart, mind and soul unite under one goal: to live, to fight, to win... to be an Apex Predator once more. . A crazed chuckle escaped his lips at that thought for that wasn't possible, not anymore. Humans have been prey for far too long and had forgotten their ancestry. But the vampires did not. They remembered everything, they had to if they wanted to remain as the top Apex predator. At this, his focus training back on the girl in the room, no longer on hsi mind. He studied her form once more, crossing his arms over his chest. He could drain her of her blood right there and then, and yet... there she was, asking what kind of questions he would be asking. He smirked as he answered, "Questions of anything... and everything little lamb... Though I think it best only I ask the questions... No point in drawing this out, I have a dinner to attend in a bit... let's start..." his tone took a threatening edge when he claimed to be the one to ask the questions, his smirk morphing into a dangerous grin. . Now one might be curious as to why he offered the deal. The simple answer: curiosity. The less simple answer: the girl fascinated him, drew him in like a moth a flame... something in him reminded him that she could be dangerous... and he needed to know why. "My sister's servant seems much closer to the other two males... You on the other hand, spend your time alone... why?" The crown prince began his question, switching between personal and impersonal questions. "Do humans have betrothal customs?", The second question followed and not long after came the third, "You worked with horses prior to your current employment... they're mindless prey animals, why waist your time with them?" He wished to ask her more, though remembered that humans don't have a good memory when overwhelmed.

_______ Part 1 _______ Alaric was pleased with how the human had waited until he had finished asking his initial 3 questions. He knew that he gave her enough time to think of answers, knowing that humans needed too much time to think things over, even if they don't use their brains when they should. Foolish things, that's what humans are. He listened attentively, taking not of her vague and yet honest answers. He tilted his head. Odd, humans were social creatures and yet she greatly disliked the other offerings. She clearly wasn't close to them but this human had protected, comforted the other female offering. The young vampire recalled the day the offerings first arrived, realizing that of the 5 offerings, only 4 were interacting with one another the other one was somewhere in the dungeons. Perhaps he should ask her about that male. Furthermore, why would they try to kill his servant. He'll have to punish those accordingly. *Wait what!? What was he thinking? Punishing other servants for mistreating his own? Humans solve their own problems, he shouldn't be meddling in! Not to mention, wanting to meddle in? Ric get a grip on yourself!* he released a growl, more directed at himself than at the girl. . As the second question was answered, one could clearly see how genuinely curious the young prince was. It may or may not have to do with his current predicament but the human didn't need to know that. *Huh fascinating... seem even the wretched bloodbags can't even escape these foolish customs... No surprise there... Though he wondered if the girl shared his opinion...* And once again, her answer was guarded. This human really was careful to how she answered without lying, which is a remarkable feat. . Though when the girl answered the third question he was quite surprised by her answer. It seemed his demeanor had changed to that of utter fascination. Even though the girl tried her best to keep her answer guarded once more, the vampire could hear her compassion for the creatures seep through. The vampire had only observed these beasts from afar, for horses didn't serve a true purpose within the vampire world. They were used for formalities, if vampires arrived on a formal invite like Lady Cordelia would be arriving with horses and a carriage. Horses were just beasts used for transport and for show, nothing more and nothing less. Hell, the young prince had never even touch a horse, not to mention ride one. And in his rebellious ways had always arrive on foot despite the formal customs. Though how would the girl react to being given the responsibility of her own steed? He could easily wave it off as her caring for his personal steed and his father would be pleased with him accepting customs. . Well, the girl did not once lie to him even if her answers were vague. But her answers only lead to more questions within the young vampire. He'll have to start with simpler questions before working up to more serious ones. He stayed at his spot, keeping his distance from the female. "So you were never offered or forced to marry someone? Surely some human male would be interested in you..." he questioned her, not realizing that he inadvertently had complemented the girl. In his own, very insulting way. On to the next question. "If you were given responsibility of my personal steed, would you be elated or merely see it as another duty?" And now for the last question, one he knew could set off the human girl. "You aren't allies with the other humans... though one of them are excluded to this, the male the king had sent to the dungeons... Do you hate him too?" RP Sample: (266 words) Tallah's soft blue eyes opened at the lack of the chirping sound of birds outside, their absence causing her to wake. She debated on leaving the warmth of her den to hunt, her eyes watching as her breaths turned into small white clouds. Winter had arrived as it always did, decorating the world in white silence. It was peaceful, the way the forest seemingly went to sleep during this season. But its silence was soon interrupted with playful ,high pitched barks and reminded her of her responsibility. She stood and proceeded to stretch out her stiff limbs, almost seeming like a cat as she did. After deeming herself warmed up enough and ready to face the freezing temperatures, she squeezed through the den entrance. Once her eyes adjusted to the bright white landscape, she noted how very few of her pack members were up and about. It appeared that only the hunters had left to catch that mornings breakfast and the rest were still in the comforts of their warm dens. Well almost everyone. The pups were out and playing in the snow, either rolling or playing in the snow. Tallah's eyes lit up at the sight, her tail wagging as she watched them play and wishing she could join them. The pups were born in the last spring so this would be their first winter. She was no juvenile nor was this her first time seeing snow but she had always loved to play with the pups. Sadly, that will have to wait as she had other duties before she could tend to the pups. . Character Appearance (you may describe or provide a reference here): Credit: I made her using WP Customs . Tallah has a small build, allowing for more agile and speedy movements. Her coat is short and its thickness varies between a thick winter coat and a thin summer coat. During winter her coat colour fades into a lighter, paler shade then that of her usual colour. . Tallah's completed <3

________
Part 1
________
Alaric listened attentively to the servant girl as she answered his questions, not once lying to him and not saying too much at the same time. She was smart and maintained a level head despite him bombarding her with questions. She truly was a fascinating creature. At this thought he scoffed at himself. Really? Had he just thought that? He really needed to stop doing that and yet here he was, still wanting to know more of the human girl. She provided him with a much needed distraction from the reality that's waiting for him down stairs. But reality would catch up to him at some point, for now though, the little lamb was entertaining him. .
He frowned when she told him about being betrothed to some perverted old man and eventually ending up as one of the human king's play things. Sure vampires were considered monsters amongst the humans but they did not stoop that low. They had betrothals, yes, but their age and lineage was taken into consideration. The permitted age gap between betrothals were a five hundred years at the max, which was quite a lot for humans but was quite the insignificant number for the immortals. This was the literal age gap, the other was the physical age gap. This would be the age a vampire was turned at or when a born vampire stopped physically aging. In some rare cases, born vampires who had stopped aging at the age of sixteen or younger were considered immortal children, even if their literal age reached a hundred years plus. These immortal 'children' weren't permitted to be betrothed nor could they be hated or find their mates. They did not mature and as such couldn't form a mate bond. .
On to the second answer the girl had provided. He could see how the girl tried her best to hide her excitement when she spoke which caused the young immortal to smile, amused. But the smile was brief and he quickly resumed a serious facial expression. He would inform his sister of the girl's new task, excusing her from the some of the castle chores. Ofcourse he would have to get a steed first. That would be a task for later in the future as he would have to entertain his fiancee for the present 4 weeks. He was a bit surprised at her third answer, not quite expecting her to be so blunt. Perhaps he could get a more emotional response with a different kind of question. .
So he resumed questioning the servant girl, hoping to unnerve her. Perhaps it was pretty twisted but one should remember that he was a predator and she was his prey, his little lamb. She was his new, curious play thing. But these would be his last three questions for the girl, though he wouldn't tell her that just yet. "Is your family still considered as in debt to that man after you were picked as an offering?" He asked, though this question one could see he did not really care for the answer that would be given. The next question was random, meant to catch the servant girl off guard and force her to think on her feet and potentially screw up. "Would you have preferred to be have been chosen as my sister's offering?" He smirked, pleased with the trap he had set for the servant girl. He knew that his sister had not once fed from her servant girl, nor had drank blood for a while now. It worried him, even though she consumed mortal food, vampires still needed blood to live to an extent. But she refused to explain to anyone, simply shrugging it off and claiming that she wasn't really hungry. .
He did not give the girl to process his question as he moved on to his third and final question, one that would also catch the girl off guard. "That male has been in the dungeons for a while now... The guards had managed to break him, though I hear it was not easy. He's lucky that he's strong or else only 4 of the offerings would still be alive right now... It is as such, that the King had considered having him serve Lady Cordelia during her stay... However, Lady Cordelia is known for completely breaking her toys and the chances of him still breathing when she leaves is slim to none... Would you use the favour that I grant you, to save his skin?"
