Name Omisha ‘Omi’ Kalaraja Age 19, about to turn 20 Gender Female Rank Princess of Menahem Appearance Omisha is beautiful and she knows it. She possesses rich, coppery skin that practically glows in the sunlight, something inherited from her father. Slightly below average, at 5’3, she has quite a curvaceous figure which is often shown off in the clothes in her wardrobe. Her hair is raven-black in colour, wavy and long. It cascades down her back in a waterfall, stopping just below the small of her back in a soft triangle form. There are no tangles in it, it’s silky, smooth look is clearly a labour of love. She has central heterochromia, each eye has two different colours in it. In a small, wavering ring around her pupils lies the hazel spiking in some places and staying smooth in others. The most prominent colour is a light green, sticking to the background yet still more captivating than the hazel ring. Simply of average strength, her main talent is her agility, speed and stealth. Omisha has freckles that run mainly across the bridge of her nose, though she has a few at random points, simply splattered across her face. Speaking of noses, Omisha’s is more of a button than a proper nose, small and rounded and overall cute. Her face shape is also more rounded than sharp, soft, subtle lines instead of harsh ones. Eyelashes are long and dark, useful for fluttering and framing her eyes wonderfully. Though her lips are slightly plumper than average, other than that she is the norm. The only accessory she’ll ever wear isn’t really one. Creating two small braids and tying them together at the back of her head is something she does a lot. Putting a bit of lavender into the spot where the two braids meet is a classic Omisha move. It’s the only accessory she has, and ever will wear. She is ambidextrous, but not naturally, instead it was taught to her at a young age so that no matter what, she can keep fighting. To hide this, she uses her right hand as that is her natural dominant hand, it is thought to be an extra edge of surprise to be ambidextrous, especially in a fight. She hides weapons everywhere in her clothing, yet the ones she doesn’t hide are the most deadly. Her clothing depends on where she is. When in any situation that is not a royal party, coronation or something of dire importance that requires fancy dress, she will wear more common clothing. Tan britches and a green cotton shirt. Or maybe a grey cotton dress. Maybe knee-high boots, maybe flats. It depends on how she feels. Her ‘lucky’ colours are grey and purple, so somewhere on her, always, there will be something with at least one of those colours. The lavender is an easy way out. For more formal occasions, she will always wear a more ‘appropriate’ style of dress, flaunting the money poured into her wardrobe for these occasions. These dresses will always show off her form, it is something which must simply be accepted. Like life and death. Personality Like her name, Omisha has two sides. Life and death. Yin and yang. Heart and heartless. Emotion and face of stone. She could be called bipolar, but half of her traits are natural, the other half taught to her. To start off with the natural traits. Omisha is quite the manipulative little bugger. She enjoys the feeling of power, knowing that she is controlling what somebody else is doing without them realising brings her joy. She will strike out to wrap anyone around her little finger using whatever methods. Be it flirting, being extra nice to someone, scaring them into it, you name it, Omisha will try it. Flirting is a tactic that is often used, as well as being part of the group that are just natural seducers, Omi has, not surprisingly, had her skill refined. Omi is also highly intelligent. Quick wit, sharp tongue, and attractive, Omi is the full package. Her mind works quickly, able to analyse situations quickly and act accordingly, she is never left without something to say. This can cause some complications in interactions, she often speaks to people like they are children which can irritate some and enrage others. However, she is not socially awkward, in fact she is far from it. With an amazing memory, she is able to pull out facts told to her some months ago and trick others into thinking that they really are special to her. Her brain is also constantly looking for some puzzle to solve, a situation to defuse, a conversation to analyse, and this can give her lapses in concentration. If not given enough stimulus, she can become very irritated very quickly and an angry Omisha is a dangerous Omisha. She learns new things quickly and as she has an impressive memory she retains the information that she learns for a surprisingly long time.
She is aware of steotypes, but surprisingly plays right into them when around people that aren't her parents. Though she holds a deep hatred for steotypes she is aware of her reputation and uses people's love for gossip and secrets to her advantage.
Omisha also has a love for plants, especially the harmful ones and enjoys making them into poisons, medicines and harmful 'potions'. Her love for all things harmful extends to animals, furniture, you name it she wants it to be harmful. Omi also has a taste for elegant looking things. The dresses she uses for formal occasions are all very elegant, though some seem to hold a very ominous warning. Her love for plants leads to her having a vast amount of knowledge on them, though she often has to hide this to play into the weak-willed, kind, intuitive yet not the sharpest tool in the shed, reputation she has established for herself. Not surprisingly, this gal has a very short fuse. Though she hides her emotions under masks of composure, anger is the one emotion that will slip out. Once angered, it is nearly impossible to defuse her, yet it is needed before the actual bomb explodes. At first she’ll begin with the toddler tantrum route, smashing things, screaming, you name anything a toddler will do in anger and she’ll do it. Then her brain will suddenly switch on and she’ll go into think mode. Completely silent and still, breathing hardly noticeable, and this is where she begins her planning for the next stage. The next stage is when her assassin training comes into play. This stage is the bomb. Whoever has angered her, must pay and the price they must pay will always be their life. Once she’s reached that stage, there is no going back. You can’t bring a dead person back to life. They probably deserved it though. I hear you say. And you would be correct, they probably insulted the lavender or something as major as that. Now onto the taught traits. Her sense of humour has been drilled into her. Naturally, Omi has no sense of humour whatsoever, unable to understand jokes or make them herself, and to be able to laugh because you actually understand the situation is a must for royalty. After many long hours of studying, Omi now has what is considered, the ‘proper’ sense of humour. And they found hers too, her sense of humour is very dark yet she loves puns. An odd combination, but her combination nonetheless. Modesty is another thing that had to be taught to her. Naturally, Omi isn’t a very narcissistic person, but she isn’t very modest either. You compliment her looks, and Omisha would simply state that she knew already instead of thanking you. So it had to be drilled right into her brain. Please, sorry and thank you didn’t come naturally either, though you’re welcome was often used without it having to be taught. Finally, Omisha had to learn how to adjust her kindness. Though actually a very caring and loyal person naturally, Omi wasn’t aware of there being different levels of kind. She was stuck at complimenting outfits and it never crossed her mind that there were other things you could do. She still works on this, learning not just kindness but really social etiquette. Of course, along with learning kindness, she has learned when to display it and when not to. With a naturally unkind personality, she has no problem with the latter. Oh, and Omisha can be very jealous, protective, stubborn, annoying and overall just not fun to be around when she wants to be. You have been warned. Other Omisha means Spirit of Life and Death Kalaraja means Lord of Death Menahem means One who provides comfort (A name given to a child born after the death of an older sibling) Edited at April 12, 2020 01:41 PM by Solareclipse.

Name Peregrine Everard Age 21 Gender Male Personality At first glance the initial words used to describe him might be persevering, courageous, hardworking, fearless, honest, loyal, energetic, etc. He also appears to be a pretty cheerful guy. He likes to goof around and have fun. He thinks that a sense of humor and making jokes are important. Laughing according to him heals most aliments, specifically, those which afflict the spirit. He has seen what being miserable can do to you. He know that a sick depressed spirit can kill just as successfully as poison. He doesn’t like it when thing have to be taken seriously, and the dislike gets stronger over a longer period of time. Often times, this destroys his focus. While he can do good work, it’s hard to force him to concentrate. He likes to let his mind wander, but he is perfectly capable of focusing. Simply, he needs to want to focus. He was brought up with strong principles. While he is much more relaxed about this than compared to when he was younger, and more under influential authorities guidance such as parents, caretakers and teacher’s, he continues to take following rules seriously. When he views the world through his childhood perspective, he tend to be more uptight and a little suspicious of everything. While he has bent his own principles, he still tried to hold to his beliefs. He is educated and he has a quick wit. Sometimes, he has quick scathing sarcasm, but he generally manages to keep it under control, and doesn’t bombard others with it. While he is patient and good natured, almost never trying to start a fight, he won’t allow someone be bullied or let someone try to push him around. He’ll quickly fight with words until it turns physical. He’s not easily cowed by anyone or anything. He has a quiet confidence, and he likes to help those who are weaker than he is. He is very protective of those he cares about. He is bold, strong-willed, independent, and has a tendency to be overbearing. He’s younger and is still immature, so he doesn’t realize that he can be a little overwhelming, especially, once he starts becoming comfortable around you. Normally, he is the one attempting to deescalate the situation. When he first meets someone, he often tries to portray himself as polite and nice, and he has a tendency to be formal. While he generally is nice, around those he has known for a while, he isn’t formal and he isn’t polite and following proper etiquette or protocol. Around those he hasn’t doesn’t know well, he quiets down and doesn’t make jokes. He follows proper protocol, and he uses all the etiquette that he’s learned. He doesn’t back down from a challenge, because he prefers to confront them head on. He is good to have by your side, because he just keeps going. While in his resoluteness to keep going, he may have a tendency to be brusque and not very gentle or sweet. He means well as long as you aren’t out to get him. He is honest and pretty open. He isn’t the type to be sneaking around, and he isn’t good at it. If he gives an opinion, it’s often harsh, because he doesn’t soften it. If he considers something wrong, then he will definitely speak out on it. He can be bossy, commanding, and even authoritative, when the moment calls for it. Because of his stubborn persistence, it’s hard when he confronts you about something to aovid him. While ordinarily, he won’t do things that diverge from his beliefs, he is generally willing to compromise on anything else. He is not the type of person to be duplicitous , as it is against his nature. He can keep something to himself, but he’s not the type to be going behind someone’s back. He is up front and for the most part honest. At least if he considers you a friend or someone that he owes loyalty to. While he is clever and intelligent, he prefers physical activities, because he is a high energy person. Sitting still can make him antsy and restless, which exasperates those who have to deal with him. He is very competitive about anything, but it becomes more obvious with physical feats. Appearance He has an oval face, and it’s pretty smooth. He has a soft chin line, which may get strong as he matures. He keeps his face clean shaven. He has a flat nose bridge and his nose is small. His eye brows are wide, but they are thin. He has dark brown eyes that are almond shaped. He has shoulder length straight dark brown hair, which he keeps one third of it pulled back in a pony tail. He has an olive tan, because he is frequently outside. His hands are smaller than the average male, and his fingers are long and slender reminiscent of an artist’s. The callouses and scars tell you that these hands have not had an easy time. He stand at about 5’ 9” and his build is really skinny. He is ambidextrous, but he leans more toward his right. This has helps his muscles, so they aren’t as lop-sided like some people who have competence with weapons. Because not everyone that he comes across know that he is ambidextrous, he likes to keep that as an ace up his sleeve. He generally keeps his sheath, which is decorated and engraved with falcons and boars, with his broad sword on his left side like any normal swordsman. His sword is durable and made for use, but he did go out on a limb to have it more decorative. His sword’s hilt is a hand and a half, and the handle grip is wrapped with leather. In the center of the pommel is a large blue sapphire. The guard has a falcon engrave on it in reference to his name. He is a practical soul, and he doesn’t feel the need to flaunt his position as prince. While both of his parents encouraged fancy formal wear, that was often beyone their means, he was most definitely a normal boy. He hated dressing up nicely, and he holds that dislike till this day. He typically wears tan or black britches. For casual wear, he prefers his tops to be more muted tones such as olive green or a dark brown or occasionally white. He prefers casual wear, so he feels free in case he ever has to defend himself at an unexpected time. Because he never knows when he’ll have to fight, he doesn’t like wearing outfits, which will be a waste of money, because they are going to get ruined. His tops tend to be loose and flowy, but the cuffs are tight to his wrists, so they don’t get in the way of his weapons. If he wants to dress nicer, but not quite formal, he wears blue. He prefers to wear mid-thigh leather boots. When it gets cooler, he might change to knee high leather boots. He does have a few nice embroidered decorated tops in various colors, but he hardly has an occasion to wear them to.

King of Menaham The king (you can choose the name of your character's parents) was striding towards his daughter's wing. He walked with a purpose, and the castle staff and learned to avoid him, when he was in that type of mood. They had learned to notice that he always headed toward his daughter's room. While many of the staff were familiar with the princess's abilities, the secret didn't leave the castle. They knew better than that, because it would mean certain death. Not even rumors escaped. The ruthless king had ensured their silence. He never chose staff without family, because he had found them easier to manipulate and control. They needed a way to provide for their family, and the king was more than capable of taking that ability away. If that didn't suffice, they could always threaten the family later. He knew that running a kingdom was hardwork. Traditionally, his family ruled by fear instead of loyalty or love, so he had begun teaching his daughter the way. Nearby was a neighboring kingdom. He had heard that they were planning on making an alliance, and the king feared that it would be so they could attack them with greater strength. At least greater security that they wouldn't be attacked, while they were waging war. He wanted to unstablize them, so they wouldn't be able to go through with the treaty. If an opportunity opened up, he was sure to quickly take advantage of that. If a golden opportunity occured, he decided that he would try to conquer the kingdom. His kingdom was rising, and he was collecting troops. He knew it would be hard to keep their movements secret, but that is what needed to be done. It would be best if this could be a surprise, and their army would be used to its best advantage. He knew that the secret to destabilzing a kingdom was taking away the heir. He also wanted the job done properly, so he would choose the best. The best lived in the castle with him. He preferred to keep her busy, because it meant that she couldn't sit around stewing. From experience he knew the dangers of her stewing. It was extremely perilous to have her pent up anger pointed at you. It hadn't occured to him that it was foolish to train a young princess to be an assassin. She would be unbalanced because of the teenager years already, and adding another thing to that never helped. Children commonly became mad at the parents, and it wasn't wise to keep around someone who was able to kill you. When you became an assassin, he knew you had to drill out mercy, which was scary if she decided her next target was him. It was best for everyone if he found a way to get her to leave the kingdom. He knew she might see through all of his politics and confusion, because she was trained and smart enough, but he needed her out. When he entered his daughter's side of the castle, he paused for a moment. He wanted to make sure that he looked like a king. He could have summoned her to his chambers or he could have called a private meeting, but he hoped this would draw less attention. He entered her sitting area, and waited for her to come. Omisha | Princess of Menahem “One leaf…Two leaves…Three leaves…And now we wait.” The princess muttered to herself as she moved around her room, picking up leaves, petals and sometimes stems of the plants littered on the different tables and dropping them in bowls, pots, glasses, anything that would hold them. Many were placed on top of a fire. Both fireplaces with something above them to rest the bowls on and then absolutely covered with bowls, the scent of many different burning plants cloaking her room. It had always been known that Omisha had a strange love for plants. Why else would she put lavender in her hair? Lavender was the only harmless plant in her room, nettles, poison ivy, and many others of a similar nature scattered around it in a messy nature. However, in this mess there was an order, one which she had memorised, one which was second nature to her by now. The maids knew not to clean her room, the last time a maid had even entered her room she had threatened to kill her entire family, something which everybody knew was not an empty threat. With her being an assassin as well as being somebody who gets impatient very quickly, threats were thrown left and right but at this point people had learned that even though there were many, none of them were empty. This enabled her to get her own way in everything. Just like her father, King Enoch (honestly couldn’t think of a good one), Omisha was ruthless and manipulative. The craving for power was strong in her. Not power over a country to have to make decisions or whatnot, she had found it hard enough when her father had told her to fix the problems in one tiny street. She’d gotten fed up of them working too slowly and if not for her getting distracted by some poison ivy, at least some of the cobblestones would have been stained red. No, what Omisha craved was power over other human beings. It was easy enough to achieve this by flaunting her royal status or threatening to kill somebody’s entire family but leave them alive and force them to watch, but as well as power, Omi craved challenges. That was why she preferred going into areas where they didn’t know her face or voice and therefore didn’t know her, or places where they knew her but just weren’t afraid of her status or skills. This gave her practise in other ways of manipulation, as well as giving her more patience. Two things which were incredibly important. Looking at the princess’ room, you would think that she was slovenly. However, you would have to look into her mind to understand that it was not mess, but a unique form of storage. Her bed was the only thing not covered in plants or something else like that, but it was also the only thing where the plants were stored underneath it. Many tables had been placed in her room, and they had all been covered in bowls. The balcony gave the appearance of belonging to a sweet, plant-obsessed princess. The lavender was grown here, a splash of purple amidst a sea of green. Yet the sea of green was not as harmless as you might think. Poison ivy hung off of her walls, dieffenbachia or elephant’s ear hidden by orleander to increase the chance that you brush up against it. Azaleas were scattered amongst the greenery, water hemlock growing just beside it. Even if you made it up to her balcony, it would be impossible to enter her room without brushing up against something harmful. Omi herself could barely do it. She moved about her room with purpose, delicate looking gloves cloaking her skin to protect against any plants she was using that could cause discomfort simply by touching them. Picking up some Lily of the Valley, she began to fold the stems, before pulling off the majority of it. If you used the right technique, it was possible to hide it in food but not have the toxins pour out everywhere, instead contain them within the bells so that only when ingested would they be deadly. Luckily for her, not many knew the difference between deadly and harmless plants, enabling her to display a deadly-when-ingested plant and have them eat it without realising its true power. Poison was her favourite way to kill when allowed to use whatever method she wanted. However, in order to remain out of suspicion, she had to hide her love for deadly plants and pretend that she didn’t know any plant name other than truly harmless flowers. She had a strong advantage as a princess-slash-assassin. Nobody expected her to be the one who would kill them. Many were scared of the royal family, but not for the families own skill. Instead, they were scared of the soldiers that they had, believing them to be the ones who did the dirty work for the royals. Which was true…To an extent. A bell suddenly rang out in the corridor, the bell which was rung whenever somebody entered her side of the palace. The maids which were her personal staff had been told that no matter what, they must ring the bell. Though an assassin, Omisha was not as harsh as many believed her to be. She appreciated the work done for her by the maids, how they respected her wishes and nobody made the same mistake twice. Though she knew they were scared of her, she still liked how they did what she told them to do without questions. She no longer had to threaten anyone to do what she wanted them to do. So, Omi had given them two rooms for the five girls that waited on her. Two bedrooms, to be precise. Forcing her father to give her an extra bathroom in one of the corridors so that nobody had any reason to be in her bedroom or bathroom, she allowed the maids to use that one, though it was significantly smaller than her own private one. Omi was very big on her privacy, she needed to know whenever people were coming near to any area that could mean an invasion on her privacy. She even had an extra bedroom so that she could pretend to any other royals that came by that that was her bedroom, neat and pretty. With a small sigh of annoyance, Omi put out the fires and laid down the plants. She kept the gloves on as she stormed out of her room, pausing to lock it behind her before continuing down to her sitting area. The bell was only rung for important visitors, which meant that it must be a royal. And she couldn’t keep royals waiting. This was the reason that her protective gloves looked as sweet and dainty as any normal gloves a royal woman would wear. So that if she were disturbed and didn’t take them off, it would still look normal. Of course, her parents knew that when she was wearing these gloves it was because of the risk of touching a plant that would be harmful when touched, but only her parents knew. Even the maids were left unaware. As she stormed down towards her sitting area, she tried to relax. It wouldn’t do to come angry when she was bound to be talking to her father. Her mother never came into Omi’s chambers, for she preferred to summon Omi to her. And though she was a dangerous individual, her father was still the king. Her dress made a swishing sound as she walked, a grey cotton dress was what she had chosen today, one of her favourite everyday clothes aside from ‘the britches outfit’. As she entered the sitting area, her hazel and green hues caught sight of her father. Of course. She gave a very brief curtsey to the king, aware that it was good practise to keep up royal etiquette. Adopting a calmer walk style, she moved to stand in front of him. “Father...” She smiled sweetly before letting the act drop. "What." {This is kinda long but I hope not too crappy...I just realised that I am unaware of the time period, so I tried to keep everything I mentioned something that could be in any period. Could you clarify the time period for me?} Edited at April 11, 2020 01:00 PM by Solareclipse.

He felt uncomfortable enough in his daughters sitting room, so he remained standing. He felt at a disadvantage, when he was sitting. It was harder to manuver, and he felt that he didn't look as impressive or using his size to his full advantage. He knew it probably would't mean much to his daughter, but she was short. He wasn't a super tall man, but he was a good bit taller than his daughter. He felt that being larger might make her think twice even though his mind told him that she was trained to kill anyone. He knew he wouldn't be able to match her, especially, since he hadn't brought his sword with him, but he felt that if he was standing there was a bigger chance that he would be able to flee. His daughter was very observant, and he was sure that she would be able to deduct that it was him who was visiting her. She knew the reason he would come speak to her, but would she know who her target was. He paused a moment, when he heard the door open, and he saw her enter. She didn't appear particularly princess like. She was wearing a gray cotton dress. It wasn't colorful or fancy, and wasn't in style at all. It might be around farmers and such, but he didn't consider it an outfit fit for a princess. He had learned to not argue about this, and save it for when it really mattered such as formal evenings. He appreciated the curtsy, but he still felt uneasy. He noted her sweet expression, and felt further discomfort. "You know why I am here. Have you guessed the target?" he asked her. He was always impressed by her skills of observation and deduction, and he liked to see further proof of it. He wasn't totally devoid of observational powers, but even when he did notice things, he didn't understand what he had seen. It meant nothing to him, so he wasn't really paying attention."The kingdom of Arathorn is making a treaty with one of their neighbors. I don't like it. It would make it easier for them to conquer us. Even if they didn't work together to destroy us, Arathorn would have one less enemy to watch. I want this stopped." He looked at her trying to decide if he noticed any uh ha moments. "If they are destabilized, I want to take advantage of that also. If I see an opportunity, we'll use the momentum to take over their kingdom once and for all. Unless you think differently, I want you to kill their heir. I want you to make it look like their neighbor did it. I don't want this treaty going through," he said with some venom. He hoped she understood the importance of this mission. If she completed this and everything worked out, it would be a win win situation. "Our army will be waiting for word of your success. Upon our hearing about the tumult in Arathorn, we shall attack. We won't be able to waste precious time, so get word to us quickly." He hoped this would keep her from being tempted to terrorize those who lived nearby, including himself. He wanted her out of here, exercising her mind and doing something he considered useful. "Do you understand the mission? Will you accept?" he asked her. He was hoping this would be purely formality. While he had other assassins, none of them had as high of a success rate. She had truly proven what she was good at, and he wondered sometimes if it had been a mistake training her. It might help her when she became ruler, and she might appreciate it, but would it backfire on himself and his family. He had seen what was transported into his daughter's room. He didn't understand her obsession with plants, which he knew little about. It confused him, but he had not reason to not acquiesce with her request. His mind was racing through plan b's. She could always try to be spiteful. It was hard to tell with her. Technically, this murder didn't need to happen. They would probably manage fine without it, but he thought it would be good for everyone except Arathorn."I am sure you know how to complete this mission, if you accept. I'll leave it in your capable hands," he told her. Since she was a princess, he was fairly certain that she could get a hold of all the materials she needed. From her training, she would know how to do this without drawing attentnion to herself. (I was thinking medieval. No guns. Maybe glass is a commodity for the rich. I don't think they would have running water. Should she go to Peregrine to kill him or should they invite him to their home? I just thought about that. Orrrrr Peregrine's family invite her to their home.) Edited at April 11, 2020 11:57 PM by Candor

Omisha | Princess of Menahem Omi waited with quite a sour expression on her face, for her father to speak. Of course she knew why he was here, he never came to her unless he wanted something done. It was irritating that he hadn’t arranged a meeting though, now she would have to start the fires again, possibly waste even more time grounding up stems, simply because he didn’t want to attract attention. Her brows furrowed even more as he asked for the target yet she said nothing. Sometimes she felt that her father didn’t understand what observational skills and the power of deduction truly were. She could guess that today he would want a royal taken down, she had heard of a treaty and it was obvious that her father would want some kingdoms to be weakened. She wasn’t bound to know the exact royal, yet she could guess that it would be an heir and she thought that she knew two kingdoms that her father would want weakened. He didn’t wait for an answer, which was good since she wasn’t planning on giving him one, instead charging forward and telling her that he wanted Arathorn weakened. She’d heard about the treaty and had assumed as much, yet she never liked saying the wrong thing in front of her father so often kept quiet when he asked questions unless she was absolutely sure of the answer. Now she knew what he wanted her to do, and she zoned out. He always said the same things anyway, she’d memorised what he tended to say and didn’t need to hear it again and again. Omi’s brows unknitted as she thought, mind sinking into a place full of plants. To kill and make it seem like the neighbour did it could be hard work, yet her mind was already racing through what she could do. It all depended on where they were situated. If they invited the heir of Arathorn over, they would have to invite whoever was making the treaty over as well and that didn’t sit well with her. With multiple royals and servants to watch and make sure they didn’t enter her room, that would leave her no time to actually kill the heir. And she needed to kill the heir. Perhaps there was a way to convince Arathorn to invite her over, that would be the easiest way to go. Since there was bound to be a man from Arathorn’s neighbouring kingdom, that would just make her job ten times easier. They would always suspect the king or prince or servants of the king or prince, before suspecting the princess. It helped that she was short and had only soft lines on her face, giving her a more angelic appearance. Fake crying was a boon as well. If all else failed and they didn’t invite her over, she could think of countless ways to arrive and kill the heir. There was no way that this could be a drop-in kill, she needed time to establish trust with Arathorn’s heir and make who they hoped to be their ally seem suspicious. But there were many ways, all involving manipulation, that she could seek some way to stay in Arathorn’s palace. The easiest way would be to arrive with bags and everything, pretending that she had gotten a letter written from somebody in the royal palace to come and stay with them. A little confusion, fake crying and the classic ‘weak female’ look and they had to let you stay for at least a night. And a night would be all she needed for a little manipulation to let her stay for another, and another, and another, until the deed was done. A small smirk appeared on her face as her brain ran through how to react once the heir was killed. To be the first to find them dead and then faint was an option, or run in and faint, or just faint when told about the news. Fainting made you seem weak, fainting made you seem innocent. Nobody who fainted at the sight of blood would kill somebody. She would have to find out the neighbour’s personality. Would they be more of a poison or knife type. She could easily get them talking about the best way to kill someone, then simply kill the heir like that. But she would have to rely on Arathorn’s land to give her the plants she may need. Arriving with a bunch of plants would seem strange enough, then if the heir was poisoned that would have the suspicion fall straight onto her. Not for the first time in her life, she was glad that she had already established her reputation as a weak, obedient woman. Everybody knew of her father’s ruthlessness, yet with a few public outings she had manipulated many to believe that though her father was fierce, Omisha was anything but. The only people who knew of her true strong-will and shared ruthlessness with her father, could no longer tell the public. They were all dead, she didn’t allow anybody to survive once they were a risk to her reputation. “I’ve got it.” She spoke quite bluntly, still drawn into her thoughts as she continued to speak, much slower this time, with an air of thoughtfulness. “Arathorn you said…Their heir is…Something to do with a bird.” Her brows knitted together in frustration, though she held up a gloved hand to prevent her father from speaking. Each time she encountered a block in her memory, she preferred to figure a way around it instead of having somebody else smash it down. “It begins with a P.” Due to the need for her to travel to neighbouring kingdoms quite a bit to, most of the time, kill some sort of grand soldier or somebody who posed a threat to her or Menahem, she was required to know at least the names of the King, Queen, and heir of each royal family. As you might imagine, she often encountered these difficulties, yet she was improving. “Peregrine!” A rare smile flashed briefly on her face before she stood up. “You want me to kill Peregrine.” She shrugged, beginning to pace as she thought out loud. Or rather, spoke the thoughts she had had a while ago, out loud. “I won’t be able to make it look like the neighbour did it if they come here. Too much risk of them snooping into my room and that completely ruins everything. Besides, if I kill him quickly when at Arathorn's castle the suspicion will not fall on the princess who doesn’t know her way around the castle and is very weak-willed and faints at the sight of blood but on the servants, neighbours and others who have been there for a while.” She paused, wondering whether her father was aware of how much effort she had put in maintaining that reputation. “That is the reputation I have established for myself if you weren’t aware. So, will they invite me over or will I need to manipulate myself into being able to stay at the palace without an invitation? I don't wish to do that, suspicion has a higher chance of falling on me. I want to be invited to stay.” She clasped her hands together and came to a stop, cold smile resting on her face. “I hope you understand my small demand.” (Medieval sounds good. I think it would be good if Peregrine's family invited her to their home, maybe they are throwing some sort of ball to celebrate the treaty once it is made? And so it's just easier to invite the people who aren't their neighbours to come stay with them for a bit until the treaty is made. I dunno, just a random idea to make them inviting her make sense.) King Enoch of Menaham He could feel something in his stomach sink at her forbidding expression. His daughter was unpredictable, and hard to appease. He wasn't sure exactly what he had done to displease her, but he could already tell that he wasn’t welcome here from her sour expression. Frankly, it amazed him that he could be intimidated by his own daughter. He had an integral part in bringing her into existence, and he tried not to disturb her. He wasn’t sure if he could have avoided her displeasure, but it was too late now. He knew he would have to forge on with his debriefing of her mission. It was better to try to get it over quickly instead of waiting around for her anger to grow. Carefully, he studied her, because he knew if he observed any warning sign of her anger breaking upon himself, it might save his life. He knew sometimes you could see when someone was thinking hard, but he couldn’t see her mind hard at work through her facial expression. Because he thought he knew his daughter at least this well, he knew that she must be piecing together what he was talking about. It would be unusual, if she didn’t make some effort. After a while, he began to feel like he was talking to a wall. Her eyes sort of glazed and they didn't dart around as quickly as when he had first entered the room. Her eyes were glazed over and she appeared to be staring through whatever she was looking at as if she wasn’t paying attention. He was certain that even if she wasn’t paying attention she wasn’t missing anything critical knowledge otherwise she would be paying attention. She was a smart girl, and she knew what she needed. It still irked him that she didn’t respect him enough to give him her full attention. He was a king and her father after all. He paused for a moment wondering if he should ask about her plans. She was a princess, so she had full access to most things. She could probably handle it on her own, and if she was touchy, she might be offended by an offer of his help. His eyebrows went up in surprise at “I got it.” Her planning had occurred quicker than he had thought it would. He waited patiently with his full attention unlike what she had given him. He didn’t want to be caught having to ask questions, because it always made him feel childish and dumb. When she began talking about a bird, he hid his impulse to sigh. Maybe she wasn't finished making a mastermind scheme. He began to be confused about what she was babbling on and on about. After he took a moment to try to listen he realized she was trying to remember the heir’s name, but he couldn't understand why this was important information at this time. At first he couldn’t remember the name, but it came back to his memory before she remembered. Since it was taking her a while, he was tempted to just tell her, but she didn’t appreciate being interrupted, so he let her stumble through it herself. He was impatient, and it was sort of painful for him to wait for her to come to the same conclusion as he had. After an awkward minute or so she voiced the answer slightly louder than her normal tone. “Peregrine!" Finally! He knew she hadn't taken that long, but it was still a few minutes he considered lost. This was a perfect opportunity for sarcasm, which the king had to restrain himself. He might have tried if the sarcasm had been particularly witty, but he would have just provoked her without any real satisfaction. He might have done this before he had had a child, but he had learned wisdom since then. He knew better than to push dangerous characters when it was totally unnecessary. He inclined his head slightly, that she had given the correct answer. He could hear the sound of victory in her voice, and she even flashed a rare smile. That flabbergasted him. What a thing to smile about. Still, he did feel some affection for this girl. He was happy that they could move on to a more important topic, and he was glad to see a smile. Still, he kept a smile off of his own face. He kept quiet, because he was sure she would have something to say, and she wouldn’t appreciate delays. He wasn’t one to keep others waiting either and he wasn’t one to tolerate a wait. He could be wrong, and they might have similar moments like the one that happened previously. Finally, she began what he had wanted from her the whole time. Her plan. She went through what would work and what wouldn't. She said that they wouldn't be able to come here. He wasn't surprised by that conclusion, and he really didn't think that would work at all. He didn't want to kill them on his own land. He wanted them to be vanquished on their own, so he could take it over. He nodded his agreement. She would need to go to their castle, which he assumed she would be able to figure it out. He vaguely remembered the reputation she had sought to establish for herself. He barely paid attention to it, since he knew what she was really like. He didn't want to pay attention to lies, because he may begin to believe them. He still saw through her deception easily, because he was familiar with what was underneath. When she mentioned needing to get there with an invitation, he felt his mind go blank. No quick ideas struck him. Her smile was cold and to himself unbearably self satisfied. He felt a quick surge of anger at her demand, but he had told her what she wanted. He thought that assassins were supposed to be more independent than this. They shouldn't need the help of their employer. He shrugged this off, as he tried to figure a way out to get her in. She was his child, so he would suffer if she failed. There was no reason to not help her other than being petty. "Whatever you want," he muttered under his breath irritatedly. He stroked his beard trying to come up with a reasonable solution. He stared at his daughter for a moment before his eyes brightened. He had to work harder than ever to keep a smug smile off of his face. “I have a solution. It will further my plan even if you fail. You will get engaged to Prince Peregrine. That way, there will be an understood treaty of marriage. With that on the line, I’m sure you will work even harder than usual,” he found himself saying without as much tact as might be wise. “Either way, I have a back up plan, and you have a way in. If there is another way, I’m sure you will figure it out. After all, you are the assassin,” he told her.

Omisha | Princess of Menahem Omisha stood completely still while waiting for her father’s response to her demand, cold smile fixed on her face, blank stare focused directly on him. She knew that her father didn’t appreciate her attitude towards him, yet it pleased her to irritate him, knowing that he was fully aware that he shouldn’t anger her. It pleased her, to know that despite her lower title, she still had more power over him than he had over her. She had always wondered why he had spent so much money on training her to be an assassin, when he could have spent it on improving the assassins he already had but by know she knew her father, and every decision he made only reinforced the conclusion that she had come to. Her father was a rash, ruthless, idiot. He didn’t seem to think through the consequences, having a daughter who loved poison would be enough for some people, but the king had jumped on that and trained her till she was the best she could be. Give the girl who already knows how to kill you, more ways to kill you as well as ways to injure, knock-out, and manipulate, among other things. Because that makes a lot of sense. He had seemed to think that doing so would put her under his control, but if she had been out of it when she was barely deadly there was no way that she would be when she was actually deadly. Staying completely still was a challenge for a woman as impatient as Omisha, when it wasn’t needed to kill someone she never saw any reason to be patient. This, she displayed by the raising of an eyebrow, cold smile still fixed on her features. The sound of a maid coming into the room then immediately leaving only served to broaden the cruel smile fastened to her lips. She always found it amusing to watch when maids faltered upon seeing her smiling, no matter how sarcastic or cold it may be. It was always amusing to see how worried they got when they made a mistake, how disbelieving they were when she let them off scot-free. It had gotten to the point where she found it more enjoyable to leave them unharmed since it got a bigger reaction out of them, but Omi wasn’t an idiot. She had played this trick many times, you get what you want by showing that what you wanted got the best results. In her case, it was that her maids got away unharmed by showing that when Omisha did nothing, their reactions were more extreme and amusing to watch. Already, she had shown them that this had worn off by wounding a maid who had tried to get into her room. They had claimed to just be shining the door handle, but Omi knew more than she ever let on, and though she could have killed her, pain was sometimes more fun than death. Her cold eyes caught the way that her father’s position straightened slightly, even before his eyes began to gleam and already she was dreading his next words. He was aware that even she had lines she couldn’t cross. The lines of society, for example. And what he was about to say was bound to play right into them. Force her to play dress up or wait on the heir hand and foot. Blah, blah, blah it would be the same old story. Prince gets charmed, prince gets killed, Omi gets to go home to her plants. At least her living plants were outside. She didn’t need to do anything to her living plants. She considered bringing her lavender, feminine and very- Her thoughts were abruptly halted by her father’s words. It wasn’t a request, it had been a demand. That she got married. To some random, bird-loving, stuck-up prince. Now she didn’t want to kill the prince, she wanted to kill her father. Torture him and kill him in the most painful way possible. She wanted him to pay for even daring to utter those words. Yet the look in his eyes told her that this wasn’t a game. It was kill or marry. No matter what she did, Menahem would benefit. What she did would not be for her father, it would be for her kingdom. Her expression didn’t alter, though she slowly took off a glove and stared at the king for a long time. She could feel the air circling her bare hand, it made her uncomfortable to be without a glove. She needed her gloves, and needed to get back to work. The cruel smile that had been pinned to her lips suddenly fell, only to be replaced immediately with a sweet smile. It was then that she struck. Her hand reached up and, quick as lightning, she slapped her father. Hard. The sweet smile fell, a look of pure anger and disgust twisting her pretty features into a horrifying mess. Without a word, she spat on his feet then turned and flounced out of the room. She was beyond anger now. Deep down, she understood what her father had said. She understood what was best for the kingdom and was prepared to make her sacrifice. Maybe, if she got married to Peregrine, she could murder him soon after the wedding and then the suspicion really wouldn’t fall on her. The thought made her giggle, even as she stormed silently through the corridors. A maid passed her, staring in shock at the anger blazing in her eyes, and therefore being roughly shoved into a wall. Though Omi understood, that didn’t mean that she liked it. As she unlocked her bedroom door and stepped inside, she pulled her glove on again and set to work. Grinding up stems was a good stress-reliever, enabled her to mash up the plants like she wished to mash up a human. Once more, her blank expression turned into one of fury as her brows knitted together, face twisting into a combination of fierce feelings. The prospect of being married had never occurred to her. She hadn’t expected to really be able to consider marriage. With her lifestyle and constant demands from her father, it would be confusing to a husband on why his wife was always doing things that he wasn’t allowed to know about. Unless he found her an assassin husband, which seemed risky, marriage had always seemed out of the question. Yet now that the idea was presented to her, it didn’t seem too bad. Being able to settle down, at least for a little bit, would be pleasant. Odd, but pleasant. Unlike most women, Omi didn’t really have time for being bored. You could never be perfect, but her father expected her to be. She always had to try to reach that impossible goal. Day after day. Annoyance over annoyance. Omi’s gaze raked over her room, before it landed on a small vase. With a small smirk, she picked up the contents in it and strode out of her room. The gloves came off as she walked, silent yet in a much better mood than she had been when she had come through the corridors earlier. Now, her destination would take a while to get to, she needed to make a quick pitstop first. Her gaze landed on a wooden door and she halted, an ear pressing against the wood in order to listen for conversation or sound. She found it, and with a nod of pleasure she knocked swiftly on the door. Her need for privacy had invaded her life, it was second nature to knock, wait for an okay to enter rooms, constantly offer to leave rooms at the slightest thing. Privacy played a big part in her life and she wasn’t about to just leave it behind now. With the affirmative to enter, the woman pushed open the door and conveyed her demand to the maid standing nearest to her. Martha she thought her name was. Dumb name. As she strode through the corridors to reach her sitting area once again, she was pleased to hear the bell in the sitting area ring. It would signal her father to stay, something which she knew he had no choice but to do. She used signals quite a lot, what she was about to do would speak in a signal, instead of words. What she held in her hands was a rose, stem almost covered in thorns and as she entered the sitting room she gave it to her father before turning around and walking out of the room. The meaning of this rose? I’ll do what you want for now…But don’t be fooled by the beauty, every rose has its thorns.

Prince Peregrine of Arathorn Peregrine could feel butterflies multiplying in his stomach. As each moment ticked on the feeling became stronger and stronger. While they weren’t betrothed yet, he would probably be meeting his future wife sometime later that day. He would meet the renowned Omisha of Menaham. While they could still break off the incoming peace treaty that would come from the marriage, he felt that it was highly unlikely. At this point only something scandalous could save him. His parents had tried to reassure him telling him that his wife would be beautiful and young. While most of the time, this was considered unwise, because then both of them would be young and foolish at the same time, they had quickly brushed that problem to the side. It only worried him that they would have to live longer together. Even if one of them were a lot older, he was sure they would be able to take the best years of their spouse’s life. He hoped she was nice and bearable, because they would have the rest of their lives to get on each other’s nerves. He wasn’t sure how long he was willing for that to be. His parents had been surprised at the offer for this type of treaty, and before they had considered it for too long, they had quickly accepted before Menaham could retreat. His parents were very excited about this. They were making a peace treaty with another kingdom too. They might even start peaceful trade between the two kingdoms. If this went well, their country would soon be peaceful and prosperous. Everyone should benefit. They wouldn't have to worry about frequent attacks. Normally, the kingdom who suggested the treaty would volunteer to host the negotiations. Everyone wanted to have the power and influence, and where else would you do it besides your own home surrounded by people who obeyed your commands. Uneasily, because Menaham made no such offer, they opened up their castle to them. They would be arriving later that day. As the heir to the kingdom, he would be expected to participate in welcoming then. They had wondered what trick was being set. What trap were they falling into? Slowly, they tried to relax and feel relieved that they were able to stay in their own castle. Still, that meant there were many preparations and details to attend to. They hadn’t signed the treaty yet, so they didn’t want to throw their hand away too early. They wanted to make a good strong positive impression. They wanted to remind Menaham that allying with them would be a good choice. They wanted it clear that they were a dangerous country. What better way than hosting a tournament? It would be a celebration for the upcoming engagement, and their son could show off his skills. They hadn’t had many friendly dealings with the Menaham kingdom, so they were uncomfortable with them coming over more than the usual kingdom. They wanted to please their future in laws, and they had done some preliminary research on what they preferred. The king seemed to favor good food like any normal person, and the princess liked flowers. They were determined that Peregrine would give her a tour of the gardens. However many misgivings they may have, they told Peregrine it was for the greater good. He was doing it for his kingdom, and he should embrace his role. Peregrine exited his room fully dressed. His parents had insisted that he wear something formal unlike his usual casual clothing. To complete the ensemble, he wore his princely crown. Not only was he nervous, but now he was uncomfortable. The day was getting worse as it went on. He couldn't even head to the stables, to seek comfort and shelter from his horse, because he would ruin his fancy clothing. He tried to breath slowly and deeply, because he needed to calm. He headed up instead of down. He wanted to see the preparations from the top of one of the turrets. He headed toward the nearest one. The exercise took his mind off of other things and he soon reached the top. He looked down around the castle, and watched small people set up tents and other such things for the incoming tournament. Peregrine didn't agree with the idea, because it gave everyone a perfect excuse to smuggle weapons in even easier. He knew his parents would soon send servant search parties, if he didn't hurry down to the atrium. He was sure that they would be arriving soon. He raced down the stairs, which were steep to stall off invaders. Unless they were super fit, Peregrine understood why they thought this was a good idea. Sometimes he tripped, because he didn't often come to these stairs. The stairs were built so they were uneven. Hopefully, the owners of the castle would have the advantage, and be used to the random lengths. It wasn't aesthetically pretty, but it did help enemies stumble. He tripped over a few, but he kept going with the momentum. Once he was at the bottom, he took a quick moment to readjust. He didn't want it to look like he had ran down several flights of stairs. He joined them were they were patiently waiting to greet them. His mother looked at him sharply, "Peregrine! Where have you been? I was about to send out servants to look for you. Why are you so tousled? What have you been doing?" He gave a placating charming smile, "I'm sorry mother. I was trying to see the preparations. I was also trying to see if their royal procession was near." She calmed a bit, but she still looked a bit disgruntled. "They shall be here any minute," she scolded as she walked over to him. She straightened both the king and the prince. They soon heard trumpets as the Menaham royal family entered the walls of their castle. All of a sudden all of his nerves, worries and anxiety rushed him again. He remembered exactly why he hadn't been thrilled by this. He drew deep breaths, and his mind ran through all the things that various etiquette tutors had taught him over the years. Stand up tall, smile, be confident. There were many more, but for a first visual impression, that should do.
