Gwendolyn watched silently, noting how everyone sat up straighter when Aldwin entered the room, but didn't otherwise change their demeanor. She supposed since these were the people closest to him, that they were exactly that: close, and used to each other.

Roland sat in his spot soon after Aldwin did and then Adlwin got his breakfast. The king did not look good, his eyes deeply shadowed because of lack of sleep, and he seemed as if he could fall asleep right there and then. He kept up his kingly demeanor though, not wanting to distress any of the people.

Gwendolyn decided to reach out, and see if there was anything she could do to assist the King, as it was obvious he could pass out right there, "My Lord," Gwendolyn paused for a moment to see it Aldwin looked her way. She kept her voice low, to where it could only be heard by him, as it was also apparent that Aldwin did not want people to know how tired he was, "Is there anything I can do to help you? I am able to read and write, as well as do complicated mathematics," In her home, every member of the royal family was expected to be well versed in many areas of learning. From a young age, the Emporer planned to marry her off to someone in Britain, so she was taught Brittonic, as well as being fluent in the tongue of Rome - Latin. She could read, write, and speak both languages. Perhaps her knowledge would help convince Aldwin she could be trusted with something, even if it was small.

Aldwin immediately turned his head to face Gwendolyn, giving her his full attention as he would do any person. Unlike many of the other male kings, Aldwin payed attention to everyone. Regardless of their gender or rank, even the maids got a say in their times off and such. Aldwin thought the idea of everyone getting a say in their own business was the best for everyone. So he listened intently to what Gwendolyn was saying. "Ah, thank you Gwendolyn. I do have two reports to make about the new bridges that will be going up soon. The measurements have to be verfied as well as the blueprint itself. Could you do that?" Aldwin didn't say this in any demeaning way, he just didn't know if Gwendolyn would rethink what she said after hearing what she had to do.

Gwendolyn nodded immediately, "Of course, my Lord. I will work on it as soon as I get the reports." Satisfied, Gwendolyn sat up straighter and began to eat breakfast. She had been waiting for everyone to sit down to begin. Back home, it would be very rude to eat before everyone arrived, and the head began eating as well. Aldwin ate as well. That was until one of his advisors ran into the dining hall. causing all talk to stop, and whispered a few words in Aldwin's ear. The king sighed as he finished up his plate of food and stood. "Excuse me, but I must be leaving now, everyone continue to enjoy breakfast, lunch will be served at noon as normal. I wish everyone a good day." Aldwin paused before bending down and talking to Gwendolyn. "All the paper work will be sent as soon as you ask for it. Just say I gave you my permission and the maids will get it to you. Have a good day Gwendolyn." He gave the queen a half-hearted smile before disappearing out of the dining hall, off to deal with the new issue.

Gwendolyn finished eating, and made small talk with the men sitting around her. She didn't say much, and mostly listened and asked a questions about Britain. Even after everyone else began leaving, Gwendolyn waved them on and stayed. She started gathering up napkins together, and cleaning the table, much to the shock of the maids when they came out, "My Lady, please!" One quickly said, hurrying to the Queen's side, "You must not do that! You are royalty!" Gwendolyn only smiled, "Yes, but that does not mean I cannot help. Besides, I have a question to ask, and I was hoping to meet the cooks." After two maids exhangef hesitant glances, Gwendolyn went on, "Do not worry - you shall not get into trouble for this. I will be sure of it, although there is no grounds for trouble to begin with." Finally, the two other women agreed, and they all continued to clean off the table.

Okay, so I don't have much to do with Aldwin but can I maybe make a chari who is the wife of an advisor and like.. she can be friends with Gwendolyn? If not, that's fine, I just don't have lots to do with Aldwin always being busy. -_-

TOTALLY gwen will honestly need a friend cuz like the ladies of court (currently) suck. they are all petty tools. Gwendolyn helped the maids carry the dishes into the kitchen, where the people in there promptly panicked about until Gwendolyn reassured them it was okay, "I wanted to introduce myself and properly meet all of you. My name is Gwendolyn, and I hope to learn all of your names quickly, though please forgive me if it takes me a while. I will get them all, though!" The people in the kitchen were startled, rightly so, but eventually, one of the maids introduced herself, and the rest of the people slowly followed. Once everyone had said their names, and Gwendolyn catalogued them all in her mind, she smiled, "Thank you all, and thank you for your wonderful food and work. I greatly appreciated it.... If you ever have a problem, please come to mean, and I will help as best as I can."

Clementia Bennett exited the fancy carriage with wide eyes, slowly taking in the entirety of King Aldwin's castle, which was quite large even by her standards. Clementia had been to many places, though she hadn't quite made it to the High King's home, she hoped to one day see it in person. King Aldwin's home was quite beautiful as well, though it was quite intimidating from the place where Clementia stood. Lady Clementia was here with her husband, Lord Brian Bennett. He was here on a business meeting with King Aldwin, and had only brought Clementia because she had asked. Plus, after their marriage a few months back, the woman was expected to be pregnant relatively soon. Not that Lady Clementia minded, as that was what she wanted, children. Though, she didn't want children with Brian out of all people. So she was putting off the whole pregnancy part of their marriage with an 'I'm sick' story. It had worked so far, and her personal maids were even in on it. Which helped her greatly. Clementia's husband was promptly greeted by King Aldwin himself, who looks rather ruffled, though she supposed it was because of the recent criminal activity. Clementia supposed she didn't look too great either, part of the whole sick thing. Her dress was as elegant as ever, even the corset was tight as normal. The soft purple of the dress a stark contrast to her black hair. Her makeup was much paler than it should've been, giving her the appearance of a sickly woman. Her husband didn't even know the difference of sickness and the power of good makeup. After being greeted by King Aldwin himself (who told her to feel better soon) she was released to go wherever she please. Though she had no idea what that meant, so the young woman just wandered.
