Ekon listened to Anasuri's words with an attentiveness that came from being fired after not truly paying attention to his ward. So now he was just listening intently to Anasuri, making sure to catch every word. Speaking of words, her's made him awfully confused. Why in the world was she being so kind? Nobody was ever this kind to Ekon. Most people just thought him to dangerous to even keep around, let alone actually talk to him and offer him things. Especially when he was under orders to kill her. Not that she actually knew that though. He was gathering up some sort of reply when Anasuri hopped into the lake. His eyes widened and immediately he hopped up. "Are you okay?!" He'd never seen one of his charges willingly go into a body of water. Only Ekon did it.

Anasuri's eyes glimmered, "Why would I not be okay? I did jump in on my own, didn't I?" She sunk lower into the water before fully submerging, then springing up. Her clothes and body were soaking wet, which make Anasuri happy. Exploring was fun, but after a while she got too hot, which made the cool creek even better. The past knight had insisted that she not swim for a long while, before realizing Anasuri would not listen to him.

Ekon looked utterly shocked as Anasuri submerged and jumped back out of the water without warning. It scared him a little and made him jump a bit. Although he normally wouldn't act so weirdly, Anasuri's actions really confused him. Surprised him if anything. She was a princess yet acted like none of the lords and ladies he'd protected for the past few years. It was odd and confusing and made Ekon just sit back down in defeat. He'd like to go in the lake too but she would probably think he contaminated the water. Even then, it was not proper for him to swim with her. It was against everything he was taught.

Anasuri spent a few more minutes swimming around, before hauling herself out and grabbing her shoes on the big rock. She hopped on the smaller rocks to get back to shore, then sat down in the warm grass. It was a nice day for swimming and a picnic. Anasuri grabbed a sandwich from the basket and nibbled on the bread, "Go swimming if you want to. I'm finished, and want to eat now."

Ekon looked up at Anasuri and watched her carefully. Just in case some assassins tried to come and kill her or something. He released an audible sigh of relief as she exited the lake. He was happy no one had stolen his kill. Or his charge or whatever. Her words confused him and he shook his head. "No, that would be dangerous. It's a known fact that there are people after you, leaving you unattended for a moment could kill you." Ekon shrugged, he'd been given lots of information before coming here to guard her.

"True, but I saw you yesterday. You wouldn't even have to move to take care of someone, with your metal control. And besides, me staying a moment with you could get me killed, because I don't trust you, and you easily might be an assassin. So," Anasuri shrugged, and leaned back, eating her sandwich, "You do what you want. If you remember your way here you can always come back on your own if you feel uncomfortable swimming now. I don't really care. Anyways, to resume the previous conversation, if you need anything, tell me."

Anasuri's assumption offended Ekon. He was no assassin. He was a trained knight, not anything but that. Ekon was just following orders, though he didn't particularly like the orders. He would follow them anyways because of the reward and the cost that came with not doing it. If he didn't do it, they'd kill him and everyone in the palace. And he knew for a fact they had enough man power to accomplish it. So he had to do this, he had to kill Anasuri even if he didn't particularly want to do it. "Oh um, well, I understand your distrust in me. It makes sense. I have a request, if you can get them of course, I need canvases. As in painting canvases, all of mine got messed up in the ride over here and I don't have the time to go into town and get them myself. I would really appreciate it." Ekon's voice was polite and appreciative, he really wanted those canvases.

"Okay. I'll get them. Also, plan on heading into town tomorrow," Anasuri had business there. She could place an order for canvases, meet with the residing lord about the cattle and farming numbers, check in on the orphanage and make a donation to it. She would also need to figure out a way to pick up her shipment from a smuggler. Some of the ingredients Anasuri used were illegal, like the Karkarian Boansi, and some weren't fresh when bought from normal vendors. So, Anasuri went through illegal means. It was wrong, yes, but because of her shipments, she was able to make a potion that has massive regenerative powers.

Ekon internally smiled, he'd finally be able to meet the children of the town. He'd be able to see if any orphaned children needed his help. As he had once been an orphaned child too. "Do you plan on riding into town? Or is it close enough to walk? If you ride I will have to prepare my horse. And thank you for being so kind Princess." He bowed his head respectfully, grateful for her kindness. Edited at August 5, 2019 10:17 PM by Soaring Free

"We will ride. It is a few miles out, maybe 7 or so. I have a horse in the stable, the grooms will know," Anasuri finished up her meal and packed everything away. She then set to putting on her shoes and fastening her bag back on her hip that held the poison fruit.
